Just to add more confusion to all the PIN code discussion

It is a 407 number that is different than any other I have called. It would be a different set of cm's trained for the promo....and yes the "other" cm's wouldn't receive the same training as those working these lines.

Your explanation is certainly a viable one.

They are offering the 40% discount....to those who received a targeted offer. NOT to the general public.

This would explain why those at 407-w disney said they could see a pin for me but had no idea what it was for.

I wonder if someone could post the phone number for the pin discounts. Maybe that is where we should call to see if there are pins, or email discounts that may have gone into spam.

Before I could even speak with anyone, I had to put in the pin I received via email. So I'm not sure that would work either...

BTW, I think that the deal (40%) is better than dining if you are booking a deluxe...not so if you are booking a value...

Posting the number probably isn't a good idea but just so you know....when I first called I was on my cordless and for some reason it wouldn't let me punch in the numer six. I decided to just hit 0 and it passed me through to the regular cue. When I called back I still couldn't enter the pin and just waited and it also put me in the regular cue. Finally...I got smart...and got the other phone, lol!!

I booked a Mod, I really wanted WL. But I'm scared to call and try to change it. Since of one of the ones that did not receive a pin. I called and they said I had a pin. But they didn't know what it was. I called the next day after I got the code on this board and booked CBR. They never asked for a pin.

I'd try again...they said you had a pin. It probably ended up in your spam or bulk mail folder. If you try for WL and get it, you will be so psyched. Just don't cancel anything until you speak to the CM and see what your options are.

Good luck!

And, check your email folders. I didn't check mine until last night and the email was dated Jan 16th!

I had Disney assigned to an email address that I use for shopping and junk type things. I got about 2000 junk emails a week and they are automaticly deleted every Thursday.

I have since moved Disney to my personal email address. I get very few junk emails on that one.

One thread on this topic has already been closed....I think this will be a very helpful thread for those with the code who are waiting to see where this all ends up. So lets keep it open by playing nice!! (actually I think we have been doing a pretty good job!) and not posting the codes!

I think there really may not be a rhyme nor reason to the emails...I get all kinds from WDW, just never a pin code!!

I get so excited when I see them though!

This may get lost in the rest of the posts, but I did say on this thread that I would report my phone call with Guest Services.

I spoke with GS today. She said that Disney will not revoke reservations. That if you booked it THROUGH them, Disney would honor it. That in the XX years she was at Disney they only revoked reservation one time. Then proceeded to explain the Boardwalk thing. I asked her to specifically look at the code that was on my reservation. She did. It took quite a while of silence and than she said it is showing as a "code you can use". I know I do not have a PIN as I am one of those who called everyday and I probably made CMs irrate for the rest of you. Sorry about that. So does that mean it is "public", will be "public", or the PIN fairy left my house a PIN after the fact? I don't know.
Anyway, she said that if you have the reservation already, you should be fine. IF you weren't supposed to get a discount that you did, the only way it would be revoked is IF you made changes to the reservation.

'Course this just one person at GS' offering of opinion. So I've made my ADRs and will just sit and wait it out with everyone else. Oh, try to convince DH that we just have take the wee ones out of school for this. PS-my reservation is NOT one that will affect free dining for the rest of you. Promise.

Thank you for this report. I believe there is now sufficient evidence that there are indeed general codes to mirror the discount and weeks of the PIN offer.

I agree with you...Lets be positve about this...I am going anyway...:cool1:

Ok...

I just called CRO & spoke with a very nice man. I asked for POP for 5 nights starting 12/10 w/5 day hoppers and dining for 2 adults & one child. He quoted me $1661.36--the exact figure I got when I checked at disneyworld.com--okay.

I then ask if I am available for any discounted rates, that I have heard about codes and discounts. He says "let me check." This takes a few minutes. He comes back & says he found one, "now lets see if I can apply it." Then, "yes, it went through. The amount is $1474.96." I say okay, I'll take it. I asked if this was "some kind of pin attached to my name," & he tells me no, that those are mailed out to special people they are marketing. Oh, okay. He never says what code he used. I don't specifically ask.

He also tells me that if any thing else is released in the future, I can call back & apply a different discount if it is better.

So, I ask him to give me a quote on Wilderness Lodge. Nothing available with the discount, but he can get AK, so I say go ahead. He quotes me $2041.86 for pool view--for the same as above w/POP, same dates, days, everything. I ask him to knock off one day (still keeping 5 day hoppers) & he quotes me $1784.13--when you subtract about $90 for a day less of dining, that comes to about $166/night, right? That's good, no?

Now to talk to DH & see what he thinks. I took POP, have a confirmation number, but I might call back for AK...

But then, I am scared that I will lose what I have. But then, my savings is only $186.40 & we are AAA members, so I can still get a bit of a discount through them.

ok, so I got caught up in all this and called for 11-5 to 11-12.
7 nights at AKL pool view bunk beds using the XXX code...2A 2C - (14 and 15)..
Very nice CM tells me that the code is a great discount and applies it with no problem. I had first asked for room only, but he said that code applies to pkg only. We add dining and 1 Day MYW base ticket...
He quotes me $3864.16 again saying that this is a great discount...

Since I had checked my numbers before I called I realized that this is no discount at all - exactly what I would get booking on-line with no code..

Oh well! I may try different dates since I realized the dates I asked for were outside the dates on the email.

Just thought I would share my experience. Back to the drawing board!:teacher:

I got this email that states 40% off as well...but only on Value Resorts.
Is that the same with you guys?

Also, how much did it cost total and how much did you save?
When you say you got a package with dining... is the dining free or you were able to combine them all together!?!? CONFUSED HERE!!

For our honeymoon Sept 4-13 we got 40% off the poly gv rack rate. Instead of paying $3331.17 for the room, we are paying $1998.72, so we saved $1332.45 or $148.05 a night. Actually we were only going to stay until the 11th, but since a rate like this doesn't come along all the time, we added two nights.

We'll also be at the Poly in GV for 9 nights in September @ 40% off!!!

If it wasn't for the 40% off, I would have had a very hard time convincing myself about staying at Poly. $222.08 a night is one thing, but $370.13 a night is another.

Well I will share what happened when I called. I crunched the numbers trying to figure out the differences between free dinning(if offered), AAA and the possible code. I decided to call and make my reservation, I was going either way, and to see what discounts I could get.

Well I did have a three letter code I decided to try but that wasn't for use during my trip or had expired. I asked if there were currently any offers that I could take advantage of. (I was more thinking codes not the 40% off.) Well she took the dates and where I wanted to stay(AKL) to punch in. She asked what I wanted to include on my trip and then told me that my house(not email or anything) had a pin attached to it. She said that someone probably had recieved an email about it. (It could have been my mom since I still live at home.) She asked me to confirm my address and phone number plus my name. She then came back to say that while my dates were good the code couldn't be used at the AKL. I asked her to check where I could use them. (I figured for that savings I'd be willing to try any other resort. She said hold on and then told me it was now working and I could book AKL. So that's what I did. I figure I saved about $1,282.60 on this and that works out better then any discount.

I will mention that I tried to call earlier to even ask about a AAA discount and the women said there were no discounts so it does help to get a friendly person.
