Just to add more confusion to all the PIN code discussion

I really think everyone is making WAYYYYY too much of this. If WDW didn't want some to have the code....they would not honor it. I too was able to book with this code and there is no way I believe that there are that many clueless and ignorant CMs.

It's either that or there are just some plain nasty ones, because many of them are saying they can't give people the code.

So, which is it?

I agree...Disney can just fix the computer to not allow this code to be used without the pin#...Believe me they can do it...

-----------

or, they can do what they did with the BW fiasco last year & wait a few weeks, & make phone calls to offer packages @ full price...so sad, too bad (yep, i was one of them lol).

I will repeat what i posted earlier, when i questioned CM & supervisor this am I was told that the audit dept is now involved. They state the rates are only being honored for those who had the pin code associated with their address/email; despite what was booked by CMs. Evidently, they all got word this am via an email as to this issue.

Don't want to burst anyone's balloon, just wouldn't book airfare until the dust settles.

good luck!

Them explain why they are still booking if supervisors got an email !!!!

Well, if you REALLY wanted to insulate yourself from them revoking the deal, you could pay in full. I just took a peek at the terms and conditions, and this is what it says under rates:

All rates are subject to change until package is paid in full. After package is paid in full, rate is subject to change due to imposition of taxes or other charges of governmental authorities. All rates are in U.S. dollars.

It seems like since they have that written out, they would have a harder time revoking it later IF your ressie was paid in full.

I wouldn't do it, as I will just cancel and go to Vegas with dh if they revoke it (it will end up being cheaper lol), but it is a thought.

again, sorry, not true...

i booked the BW "special" pkg. last year, paid in full, got email confirmation, etc.

(unfortunately, there is some additional fine legalese print that covers their collective butts for "mistakes", etc. and I found out my confirmation was worth "zip").

couple weeks later a message on my answering machine & a bill in the mail from WDTC for the remainder of the full price pkg.

Just stating my (and many other DISers experience)...

do with the information what you will.

Right they could void all the reservation, but it seems rather funny that they are still booking them...:rotfl:

Well, if you really wanted to be a stinker, you probably could have fought it. I wouldn't. It isn't worth it and you aren't really OUT anything (except maybe airfare if you booked it). But, they have it right there in black and white.

If they void my ressie, I will likely not be going back (at least in terms of the whole package deal), and that would be sad. But, it would put such a sour taste in my mouth, I wouldn't be spending my vacation $ for the whole immersive experience. I would certainly do off site and spend some time there, but they wouldn't be getting ALL of my vacation dollars. lol

And, Vegas is always nice....

We have a booked trip in August through AAA. I called Disney tonight just to check and although she quoted me a price that is $114 cheaper than what came up on the website for our exact same dates, etc... the AAA rate is still cheaper. I am going to hope that we get free dining and we are going anyway.

The CM I spoke with was very pleasant and said to keep checking the website for discounts.

Not to put a damper on anyone who was able to get the discount but I have personally seen someone had their rate reverted back to full price at the front desk of the hotel last year because they weren't eligible for whatever it was they booked the rate at. It wasn't a pretty sight with the person cursing the front desk agent while children looked on. I thought a fight would break out. This was at the Polynesian while we were walking through the lobby to get to our dinner reservation

Now this in no way means that if you had an email, a postcard, a pin attached to your name in Disney's system that you aren't eligible for what you booked.

This means that if you did use a code that you weren't eligible for, example calling multiple times until you got someone to apply it when all others said no, then you run into the chance of the rate going to full price if you cannot produce the email, postcard, etc at check in

Disney is telling TA's if you have clients who cancel with you because they booked this offer direct...just give us their info and we will put them at the top of the call list to revoke the offer.

Where did you get this info ????

I've been out of the house all day, so I haven't had a chance to share my "lovely" experience this morning :rotfl: I called this morning and asked if there was a pin code or discount associated with my name, the CM huffed and puffed but eventually did look for me and told me that there wasn't. I then inquired about the codes that were listed here and that is when the next Spanish Inquisition started! "Where did you hear about the code" (CM) "Umm, on the internet" (me) "No, where EXACTLY did you hear about it" (CM) "I can't remember right now" (me) "Can you check your browsing history and tell me" (CM) "Umm, I deleted it already" (me, and now I am laughing a little because that IS funny) "We are getting a million calls a day about these codes, they are NOT for general use and the audit department is currently in the process of going through them to see who is eligible and who isn't and those who are not will have the prices returned to the actual price" (CM) "OK thanks!" (me)

I'm afraid to call back now or EVER because the CM scared the bejeepers out of me with all the questions :rotfl: I really wanted to know if there would be any codes I could use for Dec 9-15th, but I think I'll wait it out because I don't want some red WARNING WARNING light to go off the next time I try to call!

:rotfl:

:confused3 as to your amusement? Don't think this situation is @ all funny.

Just trying to save someone else the same hassle many of us went through last year with BW. BTW, lots of us hung tuff for over a month before our dream was shot down in flames;) and we conceded defeat (in order to reclaim our money!)

All who booked with this code will get an indication as to whether WDTC will honor the rates when they get their confirmation letter as to the balance due. If it shows the amount you were quoted, take it and run all the way to WDW:banana: . Congrats on a great score, enjoy the magic, may the force be with you too.:dance3: Must say I would've changed my DVC ressie in a heartbeat to be able to enjoy the CR again @ that rate.

As for why they're stilling booking them...un-educated guesses:

a) the PIN code is valid for many peoplem as long as it's associated with your name/email/address; just not everyone

b) Some CMs are lackadasial and not checking credentials for booking?

While the system resets overnight, i don't see them yanking this code for those it was originally meant for...unless, the allocation of rooms are gone, etc.

Call, speak to a supervisor.

This is getting out of hand. Who do these CM's think they are? This isn't a gallon of milk we're talking about here. These are expensive vacations that cost us all thousands of dollars. We're not millionaires. We're trying to save a few bucks wherever we can. They should just be thankful we chose to spend our hard earned vacation dollars at Disney and keep them in a job.

I'm sorry, but some of these CM's have got to go. Shame on Disney for keeping them.

One more thing to add to your list
Some of calls into the reservation system go to overflow call centers to non Disney employees. They take the code that they are given, enter it and if it works it works. They don't usually have the information that the employees (cast members) do in these situations

True, as i understand it, there's a call center in GA, not sure if it's the "main one" or not.

I plan on calling back to speak to a supervisor and not because I want the discount, but even though I am making light of the situation; it really upset me to have someone questioning me like that. I barely could get a word in edgewise and was just trying to explain that my DH is Active Army, we COULD stay at the SOG, but I'd like for our entire party (16 of us) to stay somewhere else, but obviously we're not millionaires and honestly was just checking for a legit discount. The CM actually did tell me "You know you could stay at the SOG cheaper right" :scared1: Well dur buddy, but perhaps we'd like to stay somewhere else..I mean, that takes a lot of nerve.

Exactly Joan! Disney, like many companies, outsources some of its call center work. These people don't care (some anyway--its not fair for me to generalize), and are probably paid an incentive on number of bookings.

Then shame on Disney for not properly training them.

The whole thing is just a mess. The fact that some of us are paying so much more than others for no reason. The fact that every CM has a different story. And most of all, that the magic that Disney prides itself so much upon is being lost with these rude CM's.

You don't like taking these calls - QUIT!
