Just some ideas please!! 2006 trip

Hi,

Need some ideas for 2006. We MAY be banking what's left in 2005 (197 points) on top of 2006 points (210) which will give us 407 points.

Here's what I'm thinking: Taking a 4 day cruise and then go to Vero beach after. Here's the problem: I'd have to book vero @ 7 months. We'd probably want to pay cash for the cruise so I'll have to rent the rest of the points out. How do I book a cruise before I have $$ to at least make a good deposit? Does this make sense? When could a post that I have points available?

Any other less complicated scenrios are welcome! We'd be open to anything.

PS: We may take a short trip with the 2005 points. Will have to see.

Wow, Allison, you really DO plan ahead, don't you?

If I'm reading your question correctly, you could consider renting out some of your 2004 points (more immediate cash in hand) instead of banking them. Then you could use your 2005 points (borrowing them) in 2004. But, if you're going to do this, you will have to be very certain of your plans, because once you've borrowed points they can't be returned to their original use year!

We only had to put a $200 deposit down per person for our 3 day Disney cruise with balance due 60 days before departure. I'm not sure if the deposit amount is the same as a 4 day but with the balance not being due until 60 days prior to departure you will have plenty of time to rent out your points.

We are using all of our 2004 points for next trip. Look @ countdown. I know about borrowing points, thanks, I have now done it twice. So I want to bank the rest of 2005 with 2006. Does this help?

Thanks, I believe it is $200 for a 4-day as well.
