I got home Friday from our first family trip to WDW. It was a first trip for my kids and husband, but my second. The resort has sure changed since I was last there 18 years ago. My kids were the happiest I have ever seen them! It was truly and amazing experience for our family. My husband, who isn't crazy about taking big vacations, is already talking about, "when we go back to Disney....." Hopefully we'll be back again in about 3 years, after I have my third baby and he is around 3. I'm 6 months pregnant now.

Even though it was hot, I have to say that we went at a perfect time. The crowd level was perfect! We walked on to just about every ride, with the exception of a few of the main attractions. I was a little disappointed that we missed the fireworks every night we were there. The one night we stayed at DHS, they cancelled Fantasmic due to technical difficulties. I was SO disappointed. That was the one show that I was NOT going to miss. I guess even Disney can have technical problems, although I never would have expected that. Another little thing that I was a little sad about was that I thought we would get the hand towels shaped into different disney characters or animals left on our beds in the hotel room everyday. We stayed at the CR and I thought that was something they did there. Also, we were on the DDP and I thought that children under 3 ate free everywhere in the resort. We were charged for my DS2 at every meal except CRT.

I'm already thinking of our next trip and wondering if early November is a good time to go. I would love to see the holiday decorations!

We just returned home on Sept 4 where we stayed at the Coronodo Spring Resort for 7 days. This was our 13th trip, we were going every year, but now it looks like we won't be back for 2-3 yrs. Yes, it is very hot at that time of the year but the low crowds do make it a plus. I love, love, love Disney and have been there in November and December and you can't beat it! The decorations are beautiful, that atmophere is so full of holiday spirit you want to explode! I can't wait to go back and can't wait to retire!! I will live near Orlando 7 mos out of the year...Eat around the world and smile, smile, smile!! I also can't wait to bring my future grandchildren there! We will be celebrating all there goals at Disney!

We (Mel and myself) are sooooo feeling this....
We had a 2 week disneymoon from Aug.10-24. Which in a word was:
Fantasmical-wishelistic-illuminational-memoraticous. Hahahahaha. (I don't think any one true word could capture ANY person's Disney trip, and people have to constantly create new *and usually lengthy words to describe the trip).

By the the time of this post we are a good 2.5 weeks out and we're still feeling what many have termed the "Disney Blues". :sad1:

We keep talking about when we would go next, and what little tweaks we would do to how we go about doing our Disney thing. i.e. A FP here, and Standby line there, and in between...a nice lil break in a Air Conditioned attraction. Stuff like that.

We hope that we make trip down every 2-3 years.

I only wish that we were able to make the trip during off-season. My wife is a teacher, which means that we're stuck with having to go as per her schedule. That usually means only being able to go at the hind end of summer (the start of value season). Any other available time like Spring Break, Christmas, etc, would probably be pretty expensive to do, when you factor in the flight and everything (we're from Montreal, Canada).

I'm sooo envious of all you people who CAN do that. Maybe we'll luck out and one day we'll be able to go at some other time than summer.

Ahhhhh to dream...
Food and Wine, Not So Scary parties, Marathons, Christmas lights.

At any rate we both can't wait to go back. C'mon lottery numbers!!! Ron and Mel need Annual Passes, unlimited flights, and DVC. LOL!!
