just found out we're having a boy....

OP, I know how you feel. I had a boy after my daughter and am currently pregnant with another boy. I only wanted to have all girls, so my last 2 pregnancies were/have been hard for me.

I wish you luck in the days to come!

ALL babies are a blessing and parents should feel blessed to birth a healthy child. I truly believe that we are given what we need and should relish that gift and not resent that a want was not fulfilled. JMHO...not trying to flame or get flamed. I just want all parents to appreciate the gift of the life they were blessed with and all children to grow up knowing what a gift they are

First of all, congratulations! Second, I will pray for you. With my 7 month old, I had a horribly scary pregnancy. (My 4 1/2 year old's was perfect pregnancy and delivery). But this time, I had so much went wrong. First I had complete placenta previa (bled many times--in and out of hospital). I was in the hospital the last time for a solid month before I had him. Then the previa corrected, but I had placental abruption, which caused more bleeding. Also during this time, I had surgery while 5 months pregnant to have a kidney stent put in because my left kidney had zero function (non related to pregnancy, but to my horrible 10 cm big kidney stones:headache:). Then I had to have 2 amnios to determine if lungs were developed enough, and both were inconclusive. We left the whole thing in God's hands. And they took him by c-section a month early. He was great! Just PLEASE do what they tell you and take it easy. Don't know if you are on bedrest, but if so, do it to the max.

Congrats & I will pray for you. Boys are such an adventure. I have one girl & two boys. Your family is truly blessed.

I know how you feel... I don't know what I'll do if we have a boy! I don't know a THING about them!

That's what I thought about girls. I was always a tomboy, and grew up with 3 brothers in a neighbourhood full of boys. I did get my 2 boys, although, I was also placenta previa with the 2nd. I was so ticked, cause I had to stop playing hockey while pregnant, and was looking forward to soccer season. (which I would not have been able to play if I had had a Csec.) Anyway, things moved up, and I was able to have a regular V delivery, and was on the soccer field 2 weeks later.

First, congrats on the little boy!!!!

I have three little boys and one girl...opposite of you...lol. My girl is my oldest and I thought I would be a "girl mom"...my mom has all girls...four of us. Well, then the next three babies were all boys. I must say...I LOVE my boys. This isn't to say I don't love my daughter, but I'm glad I have one little girl and three boys. A previous poster was correct (at least from my experience, I know there are exceptions to every rule).....girls are much more dramatic and emotional, but boys will tear your house apart in those first few years....lol. You Tube "Louis CK differences girls and boys" HYSTERICAL!! It does contain adult language...so don't watch around the little ones. I am done having children, but if I were to get pregnant again, I would hope for another boy.

As for the placenta previa...I had this with my second baby. I had one bad bleed and was put on strict bed and pelvic rest from 19 weeks until 36 weeks. At 36 weeks, they did an ultrasound and the placenta had shifted far enough away from my cervix to deliver ******lly. I was a mess when they originally suggested Csection...as well as all the stuff I read online. I have had 3 ******l births and then on my last (and easiest pregnancy), I had a crash Csection due to my baby having a 240 heart rate! This was SO hard for me...especially with my last baby, but it had to be done. I hope your placenta shifts and if not, prepare for the Csection. Read up about recovery and what to expect. If you need, there are Csection message boards online. People will say to you, "well it doesn't matter...at least your baby is healthy/" Well, DUH, but that doesn't mean you are any less of a person for wishing you were able to go ******lly. Good luck hon!!

ETA....I just realized that they censored ******lly???? Really?? It's not like I used a vulgar term.
