Just back from the Boardwalk Villas - a few observations

Regarding the "pool" discussion; I couldn't help but think of this quote from our former president Clinton.....

"It depends on what the meaning of the words 'is' is."

:lmao:

Ahhh, I see what you mean now. You're right...it has to have a positive feel to it for Disney to use it. I guess just the 'pool' isn't going to work for Disney. Oh well. Perhaps, those resorts with more than one 'quiet' pool could designate one a family quiet pool and the other a more adult pool area..no horseplay allowed. You wouldn't have to say it was adults only but it could offer a more relaxed feel and atmosphere...without kids running around screaming.

That wouldn't work either because the guests staying close to the "adult" pool would complain because their kids couldn't be kids in the pool.

Disney actually refers to the quiet pools as leisure pools vs the featured pools (or themed pools).

Transportation has always been a sore spot with me, but what's the alternative? It's either you drive and deal with parking or you're at the mercy of WDW. If it involves buses, I choose the former. At least, I can control my situation. Water taxis aren't too bad, especially ones going to MK. From BWV to Epcot, what's the point....just walk.

We will be there in a few days. It will be our first visit to the BWV. We will be in a H/C Accessible Studio.

Do the signs actually say they are "Quiet Pools" when listing the rules for them and etc? I don't actually remember seeing that word listed and I always thought it was a word made up by Disboards members.

I just checked the pics or our Dec. trip to CSR. We had a room by the pool in Ranchos 7B. The pool sign is in a couple of the pics and it reads "Pool Rules". It doesn't say anything about it being a quiet pool. I think people refer to them as quiet pools because they assume all the screaming kids will be at the main pool with the slide.

Thanks for pointing that out. So the fault for the confusion is our own.

We've used Disney transportation three out of the last four trips. It's not a big difference. We have found the buses to run frequently and efficiently.

Thanks and that's what I had assumed.

We are staying at BWV in August -- what is the deal with the refillable mug situations? It is not self serve?

We are very excited to try something different, we've been staying at SSR the past few trips but I do have to admit I am disappointed with the lack of QS options there! I just assumed, and found out after we already booked.

They are not self serve and the Cast Members are supposed to give you a drink of your choice in a paper cup when you show them the mugs. This is done at the Boardwalk Bakery, Boardwalk Pizza Window, Boardwalk Joe's and Seashore Sweets.
