June 2017 Disneyland Check In!!!

Im 11 days away from making our character breakfast reservations but Im having trouble deciding where to book.. My husband is a Picky Picky Picky eater :( So when we look at menus for Minnie and friends breakfast, Surfs up, and Chip N Dales critter breakfast It seems Minnie and friends is the most picky eater friendly.. But I would love to see stitch!!! Whats your take on the 3 options? For our first ever trip to disneyland last oct we did goofys Kitchen for dinner and it was awesome but we only had 2 choices and since my kids are boys it was a easy choice *LOL*
we are doing Goofy', Minnie's and Ariel's.

We are headed out to Cali for a dance workshop (for my kids) and making it a vacation for my 40th birthday! :) First stop, DLR!! Will be staying at PPH from 6/11-13 before headed into LA for a couple of days then down to San Diego for the rest of the trip. Have booked WOC Dessert Party and a lunch at Blue Bayou...
I'm an ex-CM at WDW and know those parks like the back of my hand, but the last time I was in DL was when I was 15...so excited to return!!

Would you use Magic Morning? I really don't like people being in the park before me but I'm struggling with losing our Magic Morning. We only have one park per day tickets and are going to be in the parks the 7th (Wednesday), 8th (Thursday) and 9th (Friday). I feel like it might take some pressure off to not be trying to wrangle everyone out of the hotel an hour earlier and just doing opposite parks to the early entry. We were wanting to do Disneyland, CA Adventure, Disneyland. Would it be better to do CA Adventure, Disneyland, Disneyland for Magic Morning? Ahh!

We are coming to DL for the first time to celebrate my 50th birthday! I am from Michigan and have been to WDW 9 times. I am excited and a little unsure of what to expect. We are staying at Holiday Inn Express from 6/20-6/22 then moving to The Disneyland Hotel from 6/22-6/27.

Normally we go to the parks in the Winter when the park doesn't open until 10am so we do try to use a magic morning then. But for June? We likely won't use ours. I just don't see my 3 year old getting out of bed earlier enough to get over there.

I haven't updated the first post in a couple of weeks. Sorry about that all you newcomers!

:welcome:
I totally thought I would update the list over my spring break this last week, but it's so much easier to update on my laptop than my phone and my laptop is used for work, so....it got put off.

I'll be working backwards though the list to get everyone added. If you don't see your name on the list by about 4:00PST, let me know, and I apologize in advance if I missed you.

Does anyone know when to expect the June calendar to update/appear on the website? I'm so used to WDW being so far out, its killing me! Will it appear in May?

About 45 days out. But it won't be complete. They tend to post hours first and then entertainment trickles out.

Just wanted to share about my flight change pixie dust! :tinker:

We have been booked for a while with Southwest (the morning they released.) Our flight there was a nonstop, arriving about lunch time, so perfect. The flight back was not ideal. It was a layover in Vegas, and arriving back at 1:15AM. I've been stalking the site daily, to try to get a better one. Today I finally saw a return flight for $157.00, this would have made it about $140.00 total for the four of us to change. I tried to do it online, and I kept getting errors. So I called in. In the beginning she kept saying the price didn't exist, but with my persistence and not really taking that for an answer (LOL) I told her I had refreshed and tried multiple browsers and I always get that sale price. She finally involved her supervisor in, because she couldn't over-ride something.....So, after an hour of talking/ on hold.... They came back and said they changed my flight to the nonstop and it was only a price increase of $74.00 TOTAL! I feel like I got my win early today, and just need to call it quits and go home. Hehe. I'm starting to get super excited, it's not too far away now!!!

Hope everyone else is having a good Wednesday! High of 83 here in MS, and sunny. :flower1:

Spending Easter weekend with my parents, so I'm hoping I'll get my mom to help solidify some plans. I want to at least book a character meal, but I'm considering doing another sit down restaurant. We've only ever done character meals and quick service. I'm considering Carnation Cafe or Cafe Orleans. I also need to decide on which character meal. We've done Minnie's twice, but it's so great that I'm still leaning that way. We've also done Storytellers, but none of the others. I can't decide if we should go for Mickey's, Minnie's, or Goofy's this trip. Decisions, decisions...

What did you decide? I made a reservation for Minnie and Friends because my DD specifically requested that breakfast since she enjoyed it so much last time.

I have a couple of DL questions tgat hopefully someone can answer...
1. I know fastpasses are for an hour and return time is enforced. Is there any leeway? Wdw you can use it 5 minutes before start time and 15 after end time.
2. Dining reservations at wdw they will hold it for 15 minutes after reservation time if you are running late. Does DL do the same?
3. I booked the WOC dessert party and am booking a backup one for another day in case the show is canceled. If we go to the 1st show i will cancel the backup. Just too expensive to do twice. For wdw if i have a reservation on Tuesday as long as i cancel it by midnight on monday i don't get charged. Is DL the same or the full 24 hours?

Not much was decided. It's pretty much up to me. She said she would like to do Minnie's again. She thinks the price for Goofy's dinner would be high considering her vegetarian and gluten free diet. She said she didn't want to pay $50 to eat salad. My husband wants to do a character breakfast too. I think we all agree that Minnie's is probably the best choice. And the kids of course won't care where we eat so long as it's a buffet and there are characters.

I also mentioned eating at Carnation Cafe to her. We thought the Vegan burger sounded good and it seems that gluten free buns are readily available throughout the resort.

I'm glad you made your reservation. Our trip is 2 months from this week, so my 60 days out is slowly opening up. I need to decide on my days and times and make my reservations. What time did you choose? I'm leaning towards around 10:30 so we can count it as lunch.

1. Leeway is at the discretion of the CM. It is not a set leeway. I'm not sure how this will work with the new scanners. Some CM are very strict, but most are understanding if it is just a minute or two. They are unlikely to let you use it early.
2. Dining reservations at DL are not as complicated as at WDW since you do not have the same volume of people making ADR. I do not have experience with this, but I would think they would be accomodating.
3. Yes. The policy says 24 hours, but they really mean the day before.

Hope no one here was looking forward to the Star Wars overlay at Space Mountain. Regular Space Mountain returns June 1st.

As someone not interested in Star Wars....this makes me very happy.

I was looking forward to seeing the HyperSpace overlay, just to see something different. That said, it's not like the overlay changes the ride itself, so this is something I noticed, but not something I'll lose sleep over.

If you're not staying on site, then your only option is to use Magic Morning at Disneyland. This means that you can get early entry to DL on Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday. Extra Magic Hour at DCA is only available to on site hotel guests.
