June 2016 Pre-trip and trip report

Already booked Destin, I would not have a problem driving west a bit, Wife might though...
I don't remember if you'll have a toad, but Destin isn't far for us all to come over for a visit too. DW was wanting to go over to Panama City Beach to a restaurant we discovered last year. Steaks and seafood to die for. Well worth the 3 hour one way drive.

45 days or so until we leave. I had the rv warranty items repaired and did one more trip to the dunes and everything is working :). List of things I need to do before we leave

1. one year service on the Rv (debating freightliner vs speedco)
2 purchase small freezer possibly to fit in basement storage
3 bicycle headlights ( last trip cast member said they were required)
4. Finalize meal plans. We will shop in Phoenix for most of the meats and for Memorial Day weekend and trip out. We will then shop in Orlando and plan one gardn grocer delivery. We will not have a car so Uber is our only transportation And dis buses

5. Test my wifi system in the rv with 4g phone and wifi input. Not sure how it all works but in theory the system should balance the load based on speeds between the hotspot and park wifi.

6. purchase park tickets , I think we are going with 6 day with water park. I still have one park and one water no expiration left from last trip

7. Camping world fix.... I might have a camping chair addiction, need to go check this years chairs out

8. estimate beer consumption and multiply by 1.5 just to be safe.

Small fridge will come in handy, sure glad we got one. Do yourself a favor though and by a cheapy thermometer with a wire probe. I velcroed mine right on the fridge. Different weather conditions affect how it cools/freezes. Found that out when my son opened the fridge and said "Dad, why is there frozen soda all over the inside of here?"

Sounds like the fridge may be a ThermoElectric one. They typically will lower the temperature INSIDE the fridge by about 40 degrees of the OUTSIDE temperature.

So in your typical inside household/office setting you can get an a good nominal 40 (ideal) degrees for a fridge. In warmer climates, if it's 90 degrees, you are likely only going to get about 50 degrees. So food could spoil. If it's only soda/water, you'd be okay, but milk/cream, butter, meat, etc.. maybe not.

On the other side of the scale, if the outside temperature is lower like 50 degrees, it can lower the temperature well below the freezing levels.

I measured the front basement storage and I am a few inches short on a 2.1 freezer. I found another model that is 1.4 and can be a freezer or fridge by AVANTI. The wife looked at the 1.4 size and thinks it's too small. Thoughts? I want a door type freezer not a chest because of the cost of the rails to slide out.

And CM is right. Bikes at night require illumination by way of headlight and tail lightZ. State law and rather wise. Where I live, some folks do not do that and if they are wearing dark clothing, they are difficult to see. The reflectors just are inadequate. So good for you for getting the lights.

Okay, since June is only a day away, this thread has been awfully quiet.... I think it's time for it to make it to the top now. :)

Me, I am anxiously awaiting for August 2016.
