If you would like to save time you can stop your mail online on the USPS website. You can google USPS. I have done this the past few trips and it works great and only takes about 2 minutes to do. :surfweb:

Definitely stop it online. It's so easy. I don't even go to the post office anymore--it's quite sad. Mom brings her packages to my house to post now since they do pick up from your house if you have prepaid postage on it.

I will try to make the party. I would love to match some faces to name to forget right after. Senility is going to be a smooth transition to me. Is everybody wearing their green Mickey paint chip heads? I have laminate mine. I heard they curl in the heat. Should have laminated it before I cut it out. Not laminating the door ones.

Hey, what deck is everybody on? I'm on 2 because my aunts, dm and cousin get extreme motion sick and I wanted to be near family (I know, what was I thinking?). Of course if an upgrade comes my way--bye, bye family.

Hey everyone! :wave2: We're getting ready to build an ark here in Maryland!! I don't think I have ever seen it rain this much for so long!! Some areas have gotten more than 10" of rain in 24 hours. There is just no place for it to go!! So many roads are under water, people losing power, tons of flooded basements!! :sad2: I started getting nervous about leaving Wednesday as this is supposed to continue here until the end of the week. I had DH check the battery back up for the sump pump, since we have lost power twice in the last 24 hours. Our neighbor is going to check on things for us as well. I just don't want to come home to a basement full of water!! So, that's all we can really do!

Busy day today, but tomorrow is crunch day! Everything that is left HAS to get done, no putting it off for the next day!! We will be at BCV, spending a few days in the parks (Epcot, AK, MK) before leaving for Port Canaveral on Saturday. :woohoo: After the cruise, I deliberately booked a late flight home that day, so we are going to spend the day at Blizzard Beach. We have never been!! :thumbsup2 I also thought that going straight home after the cruise would be a let-down, so hopefully this will help. Of course, then going home that night will be the pits....

Another shorty here too: 5'3". Melissa is easily several inches taller than me also! So, at our DIS meet, we will just look for all the short ladies with the teenagers towering over us!! :rotfl:

I did a little more packing today. I got the hot rollers out and plugged them in to make sure they would heat. :thumbsup2 Tomorrow is go to the bank and turn in change day. Oh, along with having eyebrows waxed. :bitelip:

Patti

I did the turn in your change thing last week. I was surprised; I got enough to cover all my tips and some extra to boot!

I'm doing the eyebrow thing tomorrow. Sometimes I wonder why I torture myself :confused3

I think I have been to Wal-Mart every day for the last week! Everytime I think I have everything I need, my husband comes up with something else he needs. NOW, he was with me in Wal-Mart for an hour on Sunday. TODAY he tells me he needs socks. So like a good wife  I go and buy him socks. This evening before he goes to bed, he tells me he needs shampoo! I would like to know why he couldn't think of these things at the same time! I'm sure tomorrow after I go get that, he will think of something else! :lmao:

I actually worked on packing today. I might actually be finished by Friday!

Ok all---I am posting my final post before leaving early Wednesday morning. Not sure I will be able to get on tomorrow.

I spent the day figuring out all the kids' clothes and went through mine to see what we were missing. Then ran out and got the little things we needed. Found the cutest zip-off pants for my soon-to-be 5 year old. Turn into shorts.

Of course, had another open house and it RAINED!!! If it rains on the cruise---you all can blame me. LOL!!!

Gonna spend tomorrow packing, stopping mail, etc. Look forward to meeting all of you. I'll call you Patti when I'm down in Florida. If my dad brings his puter, I'll check in here too.

See you guys on the boat! Dismeet---after safety drill---deck above sailaway party---starboard side (right)? That's where I'll be. Patti---tell me if it is different.

Good Luck All with your journey!!

Deb--CT

Deb - we've been having rain for days and days......but....even if it were to rain while cruising, we're still cruising

Have a safe trip.

Shiela

Deb in CT- have a safe trip down and check in if you can!!
And do NOT bring any of that rain with you!! :umbrella:

I'm doing the change thing tomorrow also, along with Alexa getting her eyebrows done, not me :scared1: then pedicures! I HATE people touching my feet :scared: so I have no idea how I'll get through it!?!? :confused3 :sad2: Wish me luck!

I'm going to print off the "list" so when I meet you, I'll know what kid belongs to what mom! :cheer2:

What if we are all watching the shuttle launch after the drill?!?! Have no idea on this timing. Since the drill is set for 3:48ish, and the drill is 4pm!??!?!? :confused3

I hope the rain moves away from all of us, especially MD and DE and goes where it's needed. Poor guys.

Going to have my eyelashes tinted and permed tomorrow along with one waxing. Thursday is mani/pedi/eyebrow wax and Friday is hair day. Busy, busy, busy.

The boxes Mom and I mailed down have made it to Jacksonville. Yea!!! One more stop to PC (we hope).

Walking into the bathroom today. The termites are back. I called the exterminator and they'd better get here soon. I have friends staying here on weekends to use my pool with their kids. Although we have other bathrooms, this is the one by the pool. ICK. I'm skeeved and I can't imagine telling my friends--although I am telling you guys.

I hope our homes have leak-free roofs for showings, dry basements and bug free bathrooms while we're gone.

I'm wondering that too!!! How about the meet AFTER the launch? Or will that run into the early dining times?

I didn't know you could perm your eyelashes, mattsmom!!! Heck, I was going to try to get my bangs permed before the trip, but I am running out of time!! I have a home perm kit that I may used tomorrow night . . . I always feel guilty going back to my hairdresser after I've done my own hair . . .

Geez! Now what should we do?? From past experience, once that sail-away party get's started, it goes REALLY fast and then it's time to go get ready for dinner!! :guilty:

What shall we do??? :confused3

I had no idea you could perm eyelashes either!!! Sounds scary to me! :scared:

This is from a document I found at kennadyspacecenter.com
about traffic:

........so plan your drive time accordingly. A good rule of thumb is to double your normal drive time alloted. For example, the normal drive time from Orlando is 1 hour so on launch day, allow at least 2 hours.
After the launch, traffic is heaviest.

We were going to be picked up at the Hyatt at 10. Should we do 9? 10 was hard enough to get from dh, but 9? I have no qualms leaving high maintainence cousin behind, but I love dh and the rest of my family.

They have these teeny tiny rollers they put in your lashes. I'm also getting them tinted. I don't wear tons of makeup, but at least I look somewhat decent coming out of water. I don't have much in the way of lashes, but it looks great. Take a look on Saturday.

Really starting to stress about getting to the port early enough. What does everybody think?

Just finished my Mickey head balloons for all 5 doors. :cool1:

Colleen-
I just got off the phone with FL TOURS. We were going to be picked up at 10:30am but I went ahead and moved it to 9:30am. Would have loved to of had that extra hour to get ready but oh well, we'll be excited anyway! :thumbsup2
Getting picked up from All Star Music!

Ok, I just went to CVS and bought two disposable video cameras. They take up to 20 minutes each. There's always something at a water excursion I would love to video, but don't want to bring the mini dvd to.

Still on the fence with moving up our FL tours from 10:00. I emailed the troops to get their opinion. I tend to panic quite a bit so I don't think they're taking it seriously.

Finally have everything packed!! We are leaving in the morning and Kayla is so excited! :Pinkbounc I had the eyebrows waxed and my haircut..although it is WAY too short. I am trying to let it grow and my hairdresser thinks "a little trim" means cut it all off! I have never heard of eyelash perms either...I do so little for myself! I had my second facial of my life last week due to a gift card only. It was very nice though.
We actually had sunshine here today :sunny: , I forgot what it looks like...we have been drowning in MA too.
We are on deck 7; we were upgraded from a cat 8 to a cat 5...very exciting! See you all on the starboard side! :sail:
Karen

Karen!
Have fun and be safe!! We are leaving Thursday so tomorrow is my day to get EVERYTHING done!!!!

WOW on your upgrade! :thumbsup2
We are on deck 5! My fave deck!

See you Saturday!

I have to say I have a hairdresser that actually knows what the word "trim" means. I have a gift card for a facial I was going to use before the trip, but then I was sick for 2 days and it threw off my timing.

DH and I scrimped for 12 years before ds5 and I'm making up for it now. I guess we'll all be having freshly waxed eyebrows. I try to keep up, but it's a losing battle. If I let them grow out, I have Colin Ferrell eyebrows--Irish eyebrows. When dad doesn't get his trimmed, they literally grow into his hairline--scary.

I guess it's better than my poor Italian friends who have to wax their lip. I'm 29 (ok 39) and I'm sure facial hair is right around the corner for me.

OK Guys, my last post too. Our flight is scheduled to leave BWI at 9:20 tomorrow: if there is no rain delay. I think it is supposed to let up a bit tomorrow. I sincerely hope so. Amen to whoever said may we all come home to no leaky roofs, no termites, and dry basements!!! :sunny:

We plan to leave WDW on Saturday around 9-9:30. That is why we are meeting Sheila and family around 8:15 at Boardwalk Bakery. I may be panicking also, but frankly I would MUCH rather wait at the Port than be sitting in traffic stewing. We just can't stay out till 2 a.m. at MK Friday night that's all! ;)

DISmeet after drill/launch. I think the launch will be over by 4:15, so even if they postpone the drill, we should still have enough time to meet, chat, and then get ready for dinner! Lisa from KS, we are also on deck 5!

OK, ladies, can't wait to meet all of you! We're gonna have a blast! See you Saturday!! :wave2:

Hey Everyone,

Safe travels to all who are on the road or in the air over the next few days.

I just heard on the news that Dick Cheney and his wife may be attending the launch on Saturday. I don't know how it will affect traffic but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

See you all on Saturday!!!

I saw Shirley has a started a thread about the expected delays delays on Saturday We are coming down Fri. night and staying at the Hawthorn Suites at the airport. It's nice and roomy and def. need two rooms with 4 kids. We will prob. catch an early transfer bus at the airport. Does anyone know what time the buses start leaving? So we will meet after the drill on the deck above the party?

So how was it?? Heaven right? I just had my first pedicure EVER last week as I too hate my feet or strangers touching them. (of course I love foot rubs from DH ;) ) The lady massaged my feet and legs for about 10 mins!! It was so wonderful I think I have to go back today or tomorrow for another, and because the polish is starting to chip. Katie gets her eyebrows done every two weeks. I have tweezed so much of my eyebrows over the years that the only hairs that grow back are gray ones.

Nothing but rain here for the last week too. We are on deck 7 too, Wow, great upgrade! Anyone else on that deck?
Time to go pack for dh and 4 kids :bitelip: Countdown: 2 days!

We have finally packed, and are buying last minute stuff. It's raining. Today we're return all our library books, video rentals, and probably get haircuts at the mall. I'm debating getting one myself- I've been trying to grow out my bangs and layering, so I'm not too sure what they can do. I have curly hair, so no matter what they do, it pretty much does what it wants to! But maybe it wouldn't hurt to snip a layer off in back, since it's going to be hot and muggy.

I bought coral nail polish. I'm going to paint my nails! (Usually I don't bother.)

We're on deck 7, too, near the front. The upgrade fairy upgraded us there.

We leave Friday. We made name tags out of alien green mickeys and conference badges. We hope to see you all at the dismeet on the cruise!
