July 18 Tortola cruise part 3

Hi everyone!!!

We made it to Orlando yesterday!!! It was a good trip, no major turbulence (which is good because I don't like "bumpy air"!).

The challenges hit when we arrived. :scared1:

DH went to the Budget counter to get our rental car - that he reserved THREE MONTHS AGO!!!! They didn't have one (with five people and five suitcases - we need an SUV). They had to call two other lots! It took almost an hour and a half to get the car to the airport!!!!

I was furious and the kids were devastated!!! We had scheduled princess makeovers at BBB for 4pm in preparation for the dinner with Cinderella at 6:30pm. We didn't leave the airport until after 4pm! (Let me tell you Greg, I was really wishing I had a local contact when I had to tell the girls that we might not make their appts. :sad1:) What a crappy start! :headache:

Once we finally got going though - things worked out. We got to BBB and they had a lull so they took the girls anyway. Caitie got an Alice costume and Alex got Sleeping Beauty.

And we made our dinner reservations only about 10 minutes late. So things worked out. But now I really need a vacation! :lmao:

Is it really going to be your final list, though? Because I always have to make a Target trip the morning of... There's always SOMETHING. :)

Which Target? Maybe we'll see you there???

Oh yea, one time I think I forgot all my socks. Well, I've learned to be resourceful........but buying bathing suits on vacay is the worst! Actually, I think I did that twice!:scared1:

I need a new swimsuit. Hoping they have something at DTD tomorrow. I meant to look yesterday - but as I mentioned things were a little chaotic.:rolleyes1

We had a close call. Nicholas got out of the hospital late last night because of a bug but because of his brain tumor history and being adrenal insufficient, his body has trouble handling small viruses. He went into an adrenal crisis and also developed lactic acidosis. He recovered quickly and we were given the all clear to travel....:cool1: Close call...a couple days later and we wouldnt be cruising.

I'm so glad he's feeling better! Have a great trip!!!

As I answer house phone, work phone, print off documents, wash laundry, rack brain for "Now what am I forgetting?"

Welcome to the group! Looking forward to meeting you!

So Greg & Marcy - let's talk about these temperatures!!!

We were at rope drop today at MK - within 5 minutes my hair was sticking to the back of my neck, DH's shirt was soaked, and I had two DDs asking why it was already so hot! It was 104 in San Antonio - but we didn't sweat like that!!!!

We're doing nap time right now before heading back to MK for dinner and nighttime activities - hopefully it'll be less crowded and cooler. Come on T-storm!!!!

See y'all soon!

Looks great! Thanks!

Wow, Awesome work on the boat layout for FE's. Thats really neat, and probably took a lot of time. Thanks! :thumbsup2

THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU
:worship::worship::worship:

This amazing! Thanks for doing it!

It's also cool to see how close some of us are to each other. Jamie and Nancy, you're going to be able to hear everything the other does!

Thanks!!!!!! This is perfect!

Thx for the compliments.......we have to thank tarataratara and jstr8 who will be at our meet on Sunday......:woohoo:

I would like to add some clarification to this... My dad worked in a town that didn't change time. So, it wasn't simply that he lived near a different time zone, but that he worked in a town that refused to acknowledge daylight savings time. There's actually a couple of places in Indiana like that, including one township that doesn't change with daylight savings because, as one member of the local monastery stated, God doesn't adjust the clock for daylight saving time so why should they! :)

I've always hated daylight savings time... I have a hard enough time getting to sleep. :)

Phoenix doesn't observe Daylight Saving Time -- that's why I was making fun of Indiana and Arizona. :)

dizfun4me- us late arrivers can certainly form our own mutiny! :) I do not expect to be included by everyone either. But upon my daughters insistence I joined late so she could meet some other friends. Heck, our rooms are practically qualified to be bungeed cord open as close as you are to us. We may not be so inventive to create little bags, but we are storin' up lots of booty to bring aboard.

Don't forget about the grab bag swap (optional) meet at Studio Sea on Sunday at 12:15pm. If anyone gets an upgrade we will update the list at that time for final corrections and make all the early departees know about the new additions.......:flower3:

That's horrible! Had I known you had a problem, I would've quite happily came out and gave you a hand. I didn't have the girls with me yesterday afternoon, so I could've come and got the whole lot of you and drove you over there. We're about thirty minutes from the airport, but it would've been better than waiting for another hour and a half. Besides, it would've been an awesome excuse not to have to clean... :)

It sounds like everything worked out okay, though, so yay! :)

I'm always here if you need some help or advice, though, so don't hesitate to ask! I'm pretty familiar with everything around Disney, and VERY familiar with a bulk of Disney property, sooooo... Just let me know! :)

Try the Premium outlet mall instead. You'll have more choices and it's not far from DTD. Or go to either SuperTarget or the Mall at Millenia -- they're the same exit as each other. There's also a Prime outlets there.

As for the temperatures, why doesn't anyone believe us when we say it's HOT? This is why we cruise -- I just want to hit that open ocean air already!

Just remember, WE MADE IT ......almost in our case..........:dance3:

I need to get through one more day of work and then we can get at least to the Radisson.

I was definitely wishing I had your cell number with me!

But everything's good! Hope you can come to Earl's tomorrow!

Hopefully to celebrate your 1st pirate:!

let's fluff to get you there!!!!:cheer2:

I second that. If something comes up while you're at Disney, let us know and we'll see if we can help. I work in downtown Orlando, so I'm not far away in an emergency.

We're also really good about pediatrician referrals if anyone has an emergency. But that's because we've fired so many pediatricians; the good ones are all in my Blackberry! :rotfl:

Ok, our status is.........we're packed (almost) and leaving in just 12 hours.......whooppeee.......Wonder what I forgot this time?:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Maybe I can sneak away during naptime on Friday. I tried to buy a Disney one online - but their sizes are off and I ended up sending two back because they litterally fell off!!!! :scared1: (Wouldn't that be a pretty picture at CC!!!!)

I'll try to share some of my luck with you, First Mate Greg......:rotfl2:
