Jon and Kate Plus 8 Official Thread - Part 8

Actually, the one shift most "new" nurses need to pick up is the night shift. Wouldn't that be ideal for Kate? She could work at night and sleep during the day while her kids are at school. Hospital nurses make a decent salary. Of course, I have to insert a Ha! Ha! here, because it's all relative. Once you've been living a lavish lifestyle such as Kate, a nurse's salary probably seems like poverty.

My neighbor (who lives in a huge house- again, all relative) is a divorced Mom and a nurse who works the night shift. She has 6 kids. Her husband helps her out financially and with the kids and they make it work. It's not impossible, but something tells me that's not the road Kate will be taking.

Not being a hater!!! Just being realistic.

Are the kids left alone over night?

I have a feeling, before it's all said and done, Jon Gosselin is going to be very sorry he ever met Michael Lohan. He's all sorts of crazy and doesn't care who he brings down with him, obviously. Yikes.

It doesn't matter whether Jon was ever going to do anything with Michael Lohan -- Lohan is just blabbing about everything all the time in order to get his own 15 minutes. If he would throw his own daughter under the bus (which he has) he'll think nothing of taking Jon Gosselin down (who he met this summer) in order to improve his own career (if it wasn't for the notoriety of the people he's talking to, nobody would be talking to him -- he is at least sane enough to understand this, but crazy enough to think he's actually getting his foot in the door by taking this path)

Yeah, I've been on TV twice in the past 2 week, Michael Lohan (at the flu shot clinics -- I tell ya, you have to get dressed up for these things now ) It doesn't mean I'm planning a career change now.

No. Her mom or a sitter comes to sleep at the house while she works, or they sleep at her ex-husbands. I really admire that family and the way they make it work. It's not ideal, but it works for them.

I didn't expect once that happened to still read so much hate against their mother. But I do find it a real downer so much of the time, reading all the hate. I thought we would talk more about the case and how that is going..but I was wrong. I think I'll take a break and come back when the hate settles down. Soon, all that will be left here are the haters. Won't be a very fun thread then..for me anyway.

You ladies are fabulous.

Lisa, unfortunately I found your post insulting. Yes, I am a mother to 3 girls, we homeschool and I love doing what I do. Too bad you read so much into my comment. I never dictated what Kate *should* choose for a career. I merely asked questions and joined in the on-going discussion. I don't wish her or Jon harm, I have said that repeatedly. I'm not hoping for them to fail in their endeavors either. So thanks for singling me out and trying to antagonize.

The first thing I thought was "War of the Roses".
Then I read a few comments and it was pretty much what everyone was saying.

Someone told me about the "ignore" feature and that has been a lifesaver for me. There really isn't anything happening with the Gosselin's other than a court paper released or a mediation meeting. After Monday I'm sure other than the court proceedings, the paparazzi seem less interested in J & K!
This thread has always been split, however, I don't think anyone here ever wished them any harm. Everyone was concerned about the children.
In hindsight, maybe they should of ended the show a few seasons ago and avoided all this scandel.

It does seem that in the past month or so, especially the past week, many (if not most) of us have needed a break. Maybe that's just normal -- I know if Jon or Kate were a family member of mine, I would still need a break from them.

And yes, there have been posts in the past 2 days that made me question why I had ended my break. I think sometimes we just don't see how 1-sided we are (and it can happen to all of us at times) or even whether we are being disrespectful in our arguments.

It's just sad, because when we can find common ground, we rock

I read a good article in our newspaper supplement today talking about what the other family of sextuplets thought of the demise of the Gosselin's. The wife who is a physician assistant said that their (meaning the Gosselins) biggest mistake was quitting their jobs and depending on the show to support them. She commented that your job is part of your life and giving that up effects everything else.

And with that, I see a lot of the hate Kate is surfacing again, and I don't think I care to go another round of that. I can't judge, without being judged, I can't hate either of them, because I think they really thought they were doing the best they can. I wanted the kids off, they are. I wasn't tricked. There are othr ways for her to earn money. But she would like to give this a try on her own. More power to her.

Produce Junction is a really cheap place around here. The give away is the plastic wrap he had to do himself & they are half dead
