My family of four are heading to Paris for spring break. It will be during the week Frozen is opening so we decided not to visit the parks. For whatever reason (hoping this changes), my husband and son are not totally thrilled with going to Paris. So much so that they have said why don't we take the train to the Disneyland area on one of the days and poke around. Not sure if this will happen, but.....

It looks like we just take a direct train from Paris to DLP - easy??
What can we explore here? The village area, hotels, etc...
Bad idea?

If there is anything I should know to consider, please send my way. Thank you!

Yes easy. There is a direct train to Disneyland from Paris.
The train station is outside the security area.
When you get to street level, just follow the signs and crowds.

Without a park ticket you can
  1. Shop and eat in Disney Village
  2. Shop and eat in any of the onsite hotels.
You will need to go through bag check security but they dont check park tickets there. The park tickets are only needed at the actual entrance turnstiles.

You will be able to explore the Fantasy Garden area of Disneyland Hotel, the big pink hotel. You will be able to go as far as the entrance turnstiles and see into the park, and Main Street Train Station. You will not be able to see Main Street or The Castle.
You may or may not be able to explore inside Disneyland Hotel, as since the refurb they have limited the entry to hotel guests and guests with restaurant reservations at various times. You need to check before your visit.

All of the other onsite hotels you can definitely explore.
  1. Art of Marvel at Hotel New York will be the first hotel when you exit Disney Village.
  2. Around Lake Disney is Sequoia Lodge and Newport Bay Hotel
  3. Follow the river on one side to walk to Hotel Cheyanne
  4. Follow the river on the other side to walk to Santa Fe Hotel
You can also take the free hotel shuttle buses which are near the train station. They do not check park tickets or hotel reservations on the bus.

Disney Village is a smaller version of Disney Springs / Downtown Disney. Some restaurants need advance reservations, which you can do through the App.

Disneyland Paris has its own App which you can download. You do not need park tickets or hotel reservations to use the App.

Great advice from BadPinkTink. I would definitely do this too, if I was that close. Although I would probably go to the parks anyway, even with the crowds.

One caution. I have done this in Anaheim when I have been there for work conferences. I didn't have time and thought it a waste of money to go into Disneyland/DCA just for an evening, so I would walk through Downtown Disney, shop and get dinner. It just made me feel worse to be so close, but not actually go in. One trip I did drop the money for a couple of hour "taste". :)

Thanks so much! Yes, it is very very very tempting to be that close! Will see where our travels take us!

You minus well just postpone visiting the area entirely. Even if you’re not in Disneyland Paris, there will be plenty of spillover from crowds in other attractions nearby. Just keep it local on spring break in this case.
