Well really amazing editing concerning mean old Jon. First he doesn't have the right color markers and then loses his cool after Mady & Kara wined about it and fought over the colors he did have. Many, Mommy does it better comments thrown in by the twins. I can't say I blame him for not taking them to the fire station.
Next the fire station--if I didn't know better I thought they portrayed Jon as not watching the kids and more interested in serving lemonade then his kids jumping all over the fire equipment. Apparently Kate didn't agree with raising money for the volunteer firefighters as her voiceovers were heard several times questioning Jon's motives.
Finally Kate's time to take them to the neighbors farm. I'm sure it was real comfortable for them to wear the boots on a very hot day and walking what seemed like a good mile. You know those boots weren't broken in and I'm sure some of them probably still have the blisters to prove it. The organic cows produced the organic milk that the kids had glass after glass of--I'm sure the chocolate syrup helped! Unfortunately the kids were more interested in the barn cats--especially a little gray kitten than the cows and milking operation. I hope that little gray kitten is still alive after the way he was mishandled by the kids.
One thing is for sure--if Kate didn't say it 20 times, this show provided us with a lot of opportunities to do things and travel. Yes it did Kate, but that was part of your downfall. Normal people were tired of all your extravagent vacations to $10,000 a week beach houses and Hawaiian wedding vow renewal. What they enjoyed were the trips to the fire station, the neighbors farm, local sights that you weren't interested in once you headed out west.

So, its finally over. Good Luck Gosselin kids. Enjoy your childhood in the privacy of your home. No more cameras to catch every embarassing moment or bad behavior.:flower3:

I missed it..had to pick up a kid from work and when I got home I totally forgot about it being on tonight...well I'm sure there will be a rerun of it. I for one will miss the show.

I also loved watching all the travel shows and seeing them go places I will never go

Did anyone else think Jon's behavior during his monologue was a little odd? Seemed to be talking very very fast and mostly about himself.....

Well, I turned it on just as they started the walk down the road and couldn't believe they had been living there for a year and hadn't walked the road yet :scared1: Yes, they're 5 but with all of the nannies you'd think at least 1 of their parents might have taken them out 1 at a time. It reminded me way too much of the Dionne quints, especially (as another poster pointed out) with the whole driveway/play area on view from the fence -- people used to line up at the fence to watch the Dionnes too. Hopefully, the gawkers and stalkers will go away now that the kids will no longer be TV stars.

And then of course, they get to go on a hay ride -- like all kids who go walking in their own neighbourhood (NOT!) It really made me wonder if these kids would have even gotten outside the gates if it hadn't been required for the show.

I couldn't really watch after that, especially thinking about all the great walks DD and I have had down country roads (starting probably when she was 2). Just sad that these parents have given up on providing a normal life for the kids and thought that they would enjoy vacationing in expensive cottages and resorts, followed by film crews rather than taking a walk in their own neighbourhood picking flowers and watching butterflies, and seeing how many rocks DD could fit into her pockets to add to her rock collection.

I hope that the kids have a wonderful childhood and I hope they have enough privacy that I won't even hear about it. Good luck kids :grouphug:

I noticed that, too. He seemed almost...aggressive, for lack of a better word.

FWIW, my brother and I and the rest of the neighborhood kids went on many, many hayrides in our neighborhood while we were growing up. They still have hayrides to this day for the kids who now live there. :goodvibes

Now I wonder how long it will take the paparrazi to leave the poor kids alone at the bus stop. I couldn't imagine having to face them every single school day when I was a child, especially if you had a lousy day at school. Ugh. :guilty:

Here's wishing their quality of "being just like regular kids" life will improve in lots of ways :wizard: (though I guess they'd probably really have to have different parents to achieve this )

That was one of the lst. things I noticed. His actions just seemed very strange or off to me.

Jon appeared very angry and has had angry on his face for the whole time. He also overreacted with the "mommy" comment from Kara and Mandy. He will need to learn how to get over that. He's going to hear more and more of that type of stuff from all of the kids.

I mentioned this on the "will you miss J&K" thread also, but what is up with Jon's voice now? It's so different. It is very nasal and annoying now. :sad2:

I'm in the minority here. I feel so bad for Kate I think this has been hard on her. I think she is really thinking about the kids and trying to do what's in there best interest.

I think Jon is just dong for Jon and that is all he cares about. He is going to have to get used to the kids trying to play on parent against the other one, Just like Mady did last night.

I thought Jon seemed stoned/high and then to top that off MAD. Kate seemed very sad and regretful

I agree with you 100% there. My DD10 kept asking me why John was being so mean to the kids.

I agree with your whole post. :thumbsup2 I was never a fan of Kate's before, but I think going through all of this has changed her a lot for the better. I actually like her now and enjoy watching her on the show.

Re: the bolded. It has been crossing my mind that maybe Jon is using something?

I agree 100% with you. My thoughts exactly!:thumbsup2

Kate auditioned for that months ago. There's been no word on whether or not she was selected to be on Paula's show.

TLC is plannng a show featuring Kate that is supposed to air next year.

LOL I just heard last week they were taping the pilor:confused3

I think that what was taped in September was considered a pilot, of sorts .. but there hasn't been anything released recently to suggest that the show is a go.

IMO, that didn't work out or TLC made a more attractive offer to Kate and she's staying with them. I don't believe she's going to be doing 2 shows. But that's just me speculating.
