And J & K are well aware that the paps are out there with those long lenses.

there were pictures the other day of Jon (and at least one of the children) talking to the paps, and was seen carrying around one of the big mack daddy lenses. and this was on the property, not down at the fence.

I guess in my mind I think of an entourage as like a huge group of people - not a couple of co-workers or friends.

A bodyguard, a PR person, and a publicist are not co-workers or friends, they are employees that follow her around on speaking engagements/media blitzes. I would call that an entourage. It's not like she invited a few friends to a trip to NY. :confused3

Well the bodyguards are co-workers they are provided by the Discovery channel. I wonder if the PR & publicist work for Discovery? The camera crew & producers are also her co-workers

It's not and I am SURE they know that but the are willing to take the chance because of the money.

Maybe you can't prove it is GOOD for them but that does not mean it is bad for them.

The family would be on welfare if the show did not save them. Kate was the only one with a steady job. I don't think Jon was not working when the 6 were born. This has given the kids the things we all want to give our children.

Not me.
Suffice it to say that if money is an issue, perhaps waiting for children (and saving up) would be prudent.

Here's my 2 cents on the difference between Kate in the episodes and Kate on the chair (couch). The beach episodes were filmed when they were still "together" (meaning not officially separated). Jon was dating/seeing/hangoug out with Hailey by then. I would bet she was grouchy, tired and upset just having to come home to deal with the whole situation. It's easy to ignore what's going on back home when it's not in your face the whole time. I would gather that they were both tensing up as the return got closer. Again, just my 2 cents. :confused3

I wonder why it was taped and not done live.

Without seeing the interview, it sounds like Regis wasn't prepped on the Gosselins situation at all. It's been reported that there is a list of "approved" questions when interviewing Kate, and it sounds like Regis either missed the memo or ignored it altogether. Even if he wasn't prepped, I can't understand why on earth you'd say to anyone getting a divorce that you might get back together. That's inappropriate and rude.

and to answer your question. I have no idea. I think The Today Show is the only one she does live. Everything else has been taped, but that could be a complete coincidence.

Lots of new articles on Radaronline this morning. This one bothers me. Is Jon buying these cars for the kids?? That is his reason for everything.

He just doesn't make any sense....car shopping and drinking with teenagers...brilliant! He must be doing this to get out of a contract.....this is a total 180 from how he previously behaved.

but that's reality for many, many people. I am always looking for ways to save money .. and saved over $75 last week at the grocery shopping the sales and using coupons.

Good job! I went shopping last week for the first time in a month and spent like $129 and still managed to save like $68. Can't wait to get back into my "regular" shopping and saving more than I spend! Love it!

Yikes! I do think Reg tends to "joke" about stuff like this with celebs....I'd have to see it before I comment.

why they don't do more of a mixture of shows? some trips, some practical .. cooking dinner for a large family, for example. I think that's something people could relate to and appreciate. Along with taking a vacation, how about tips about packing for a vacation?

Completely agree! You can still get show sponsors - Ziploc containers to freeze the portions for later, food sponsors, luggage sponsors. The opprotunities are out there - you just have to think a bit outside the box. :thumbsup2

She's helping to stimulate the economy :)

I'm sure since TLC was filming there they helped pay for the $10,000 cottage rental. She's not flaunting her Starbucks and spa stuff, the paparazzi are following her around and taking pictures of it and you are choosing to look at those photos. FAO is not that much more expensive than a normal toy store depending on what is being purchased there.

I do think people who are able should not quit spending - that will only hurt us. Each person has their own list of "crazy" items they spend money on and what they're determined and "must haves" for their family. Just like I can't fault friends for having different things they spend money on, I can't complain about the smaller purchases like Target and the toy store. Now, Jon and buying (or trying out) cars all the time is a bit crazy!

If you keep making this personal, this thread will be closed :( This is a TV show, not personal friends we have to defend, or enemies we have to prove wrong. All of us are just giving out opinions, just like you are.

While you may consider that spending money like water, others do not. Those places are booming, so many people must consider them normal parts of their lives. And while I am not going around telling everyone I'm going to Disney (because like, do they really care?), I'm not hiding it either. I'm sorry that other people are having a tough time with the economy, but I don't consider it bragging that I am still traveling

Completely agree with the bolded part - it's crazy the feelings this show brings out!

Have a great time at Disney!! Not to brag but I think I've convinved DH to renew our APs and go for a long weekend in Sept (friend's baby's first trip!!) AND Dec (my birthday)! Thank goodness for the 40% off pin code we got!

If people have the money to spend I would rather them spend some of it than sock it all away. Spending it helps people keep their jobs so they don't loose their houses.

yes I am the authority on everything!! At least that is what I tell my husband.

Agree with the spending!

DS5 will tell you that I'm the boss, I'm in charge and I make the rules! :thumbsup2

I believe on the couch part she had a disclaimer that she may not have seemed thankful, but she was. Is that where she said she was tired from driving? I think they had to put that in there, b/c a normal person would have been jumping up and down! It was also noted they didn't really show much of the kitchen at all. Now , that I would have wanted to see.

I just watched the show last night. The kitchen reveal was such a small part of the show - wish it would have been a bigger part maybe explaining why they made those choices or something to give the rest of us ideas!

As for Kate's reaction, I think it was a typical one for her. There's no way I'd be jumping up and down...that's just not me. I probably would have reacted similar to Kate. I'm not good at showing my emotions on the outside like that.

I just don't think the children are suffering because of the show. They may be suffering due to the divorce, but I think that would have happened show or no show. It's too early too tell whether or not the show will affect them negatively.

Agreed! The Gosselins could adopt me and I'd gladly go on the trips and such with them! :goodvibes

I'm sorry but I disagree. They are people Kate works with - whether she had a choice to bring them or not.

Now I did hear on the Candy and Potter (radio) show this morning that she was taping the interview for J&K+8 so she had a film crew, producer, publicist, secruity and always travels with two assistants. I can't find anything to back that up. If that's the case and all those people were with her - yeah I'd say that's an entourage.

I think that's probably the best way to describe it - if they're all paid by the same person/company, they're co-workers as far as I'm concerned. If Kate's paying them, they're her employees.

Maybe you can't prove it is GOOD for them but that does not mean it is bad for them.

The family would be on welfare if the show did not save them. Kate was the only one with a steady job. I don't think Jon was not working when the 6 were born. This has given the kids the things we all want to give our children.

and what would that be, exactly? what things has the show given them that we all want to give our children? Outside of financial security .. what would that be? vacations, nice clothes, a big fancy house, toys? do the ends justify the means? what about all the things that the show has taken away from them? (IMO, of course) what about their privacy, the right to just be children and not on display, the right to react to their parents divorce without it being part of a media tour?

We'll never know what life would have been like without the show. I don't believe that Jon & Kate would have been totally down and out, though. Kate seems like a motivated and enterprising person. That's how they got to this point in the first place.

for my family, I want them to be happy, healthy, and well-adjusted. I'd also like for them to be successful, but that's by their own definition, not mine. I would be lying if I said I wouldn't want to take 2 week beach vacations or have the means to buy whatever I want. And I certainly wouldn't turn down house help or laundry folder. LOL. but in the end, it's all just stuff. my family seems to be ok without all that comes with being on a TV show, though.

easy for me to say, sitting here on my comfy couch with no hope of a huge financial windfall in sight. LOLOL

I wonder if something happen before the interview that Regis would act like that. He always seems so personable with evryone else.

I'll be curious to see if it's true that they filmed her interview on The Today Show for JK8. If they did, I wonder why? For an episode?

I wonder why it was taped and not done live.

Regis and Kelli is always taped. It is called live but it isn't. There is another celeb that I follow and he is on there quit a bit, and he is in NYC taping it before it airs.
