Jon and Kate Plus 8 official Thread, Part 2!!

I'm officially bored with the show now. (still think the kids are adorable though)

Last night's episode was just so uninteresting: too much of Jon & Kate in the interview chair and not enough kid footage.

I think this horse has been beaten.......................

I'm surprised that no one has commented on Monday night's new episode.
I follow this thread but don't post much even though I have my opinions that I chime in on outloud to myself as I read along! :upsidedow
I really didn't mind the soup episode, but I have to say that Mon. night's new show was definately on the bottom three of my all time least liked episodes (following John's hair transplant thingy, and the J & K teeth whitening episode.)
I'm sorry, but I have enough of taking my own kids to the dentist and orthodontist and hate it with my own kids, let alone watch the G family do their thing. Sorry, I love the kids, but blech, did not like this episode... just my 2 cents!

Like, did anyone like see Jon's interview like on the link that is like posted above. Like, what did you think of it. Like, it was so cool. Like, like, like, like, like. UGH! I couldn't even watch the whole thing.

That was one long episode. It seemed like they were at the dentist for a week. I really could have done without seeing inside Mady and Cara's mouth. I did think it was adorable when Collin asked for his sunglasses when he was in the dentist chair.

What is with all those flavors they offer? My dentist must be really behind the times. She has grape, cherry or spearmint. And I must admit I have never heard of flavored gloves. :sad2:

Hey, did anyone else catch Jon's recent interview in Utah? It's a long interview (3 parts, around 20 minutes total), but it's a great interview. Talks about the show, parenting, and even answers some questions about the help they get, his family's involvement, and even Beth and Bob.

OK, I watched it!

I am so glad this small time reporter asked those questions!! The national names were too afraid, and she went right after it!

I forget how young he is. His mannerisms are a lot like the guys I am friends with (the whole "like" thing, for one). I thought it was a pretty good interview.

I had to laugh when Joel asked if they had mango!

I've moved on to The Bachelor on Mondays and American Idol on Wednesdays.

I read the recap on the do not need our pity blog .. and I agree with the PP. I don't enjoy the dentist. I can't imagine watching an episode about it. On ANY show. It's not JK8-specific. :rotfl:

I also skimmed some comments about the interview, and saw where Jon bought a condo at a ski resort in Utah.

Now. I have no comments on Jon buying the condo .. I think that's great. He's earned it. Good for him. Seriously. I feel the same about that as I do the house.

But at the same time ..

is. Gosselin's wife, Kate, is an admitted indoors type and he figures she won't be in on too many ski vacations.

"I'm looking for a father-daughter place," Gosselin said.

Gosselin says the plan is to have a place to visit each winter and to continue riding on a regular basis. He says that he really enjoys Park City and the Canyons, and even in his 30s, he says that he fits right in with the young crowd on the mountain.

"It's nice because I have eight kids, two dogs and live in Pennsylvania, and I can still hang with 15-year-olds," he said.

Gosselin has been riding with friends and pro riders at the resort and spending the evenings discovering what Park City and Salt Lake have to offer. But he is most excited to set some vacation roots right here.

"You can do whatever you want here. I go places you can connect with people and it feels like a family," Gosselin said.

He had never been in Utah before last year and once said in an interview that all he knew about Utah was "powder, Mormons and Moab." Since then, his world has opened up to the warm community and top-notch snow and it looks like Gosselin will soon be a part-time resident.

for a couple that has been under the microscope about their relationship, it sort of makes me go hmmm... just a little bit. I can't even imagine what the GWoP people have had to say. And it really, truly, probably is nothing more than what it says. A place for he and Cara to go to get away a couple of times a year. I don't know. Just something about how it read just sort of stuck with me.

Hmmm... so they got 2 dogs:confused3 That's very surprising to me. I thought Kate said she wasn't really much of a dog person, and I thought she didn't even want 1 let alone 2.

Can you just imagine Kate with a dog in the house, let alone 2!!!

honestly, I don't think Jon or Kate think much about what they're saying, sometimes. And maybe notsomuch that as I wonder if they realize how carefully people are paying attention to what they say in these interviews. I mean, come on .. we're doing it, the bloggers are doing it .. I think that Jon & Kate just talk and talk (and talk .. :lmao: ) and forget what they've said or shown on the show. Excessive PR fees aside, Jon & Kate are not seasoned professionals.

With all that said, I think Jon & Kate should think about what they're saying. People are paying attention. People remember. Just reading GDNNOP and here, I'm seeing more and more comments where viewers are bored, they're moving on to other shows, etc. The 15 minutes may be up soon.

I liked the interview. It felt like he was sitting across from me answering questions I wanted to ask. He was much more casual than on JK+8. It was nice to hear him speak although there were some "canned" answers.

Now, I can usually see where you're coming from, but I think this is a stretch.

If anything, that interview reminded me how young these two are, especially Jon (being younger than Kate and a guy ). It's probably a lot to do with age, as far as thinking before they speak, etc.

Has the other twins and 'tups family been seen again?

~ Kate likely won't be in on many of these trips

~ the resort is across the country from where they live

~ he likes hanging out/fitting in with the younger crowd (I'm sure he means from a snowboarding standpoint)

How often can Cara miss school to go to Utah? How often will Jon go alone, to this "second home"? That all remains to be seen.

Maybe I'm reading too much between the lines. That's quite likely :rotfl:

But, Jon has newfound fame and a place to go that's his own. Before it was private, his Facebook page was full of young, female, friends.... It just doesn't seem like an optimal scenario to me. I'm 40 and very cynical. Too many friends with broken marriages, I guess.

There's something to be said for spouses with different interests, though. Lord knows the couples who depend on each other for everything, including entertainment, hobbies, etc. have issues, too.

How often can Jon take off for a ski weekend? If we're going by the Utah interview(s) as fact, he's doing the brunt of the home life work now. It's not like he can board while Kate's at home with the kids.

I know I don't know him, but he doesn't seem like a sleazy guy to me. Seems that he loves his family too much to put it in jeopardy.

As far as the Facebook friends, how many guys are gonna "friend" him? Honestly? He also said the main demographic for their show is women 18-54. Facebook also has no connection to real life...as far as celebs go, I mean. How many big names have Facebook accounts. Are they really friends with the hundreds or thousands of people on the site? I wouldn't cite that as a credible piece of information.

I agree, not to mention would he really risk having to pay child support for 8 kids:laughing: I'm joking of course, but I just don't see that happening, especially not with them just renewing their vows ect. But just my opinion, and you can always be wrong.

Nope, I can never be wrong! You've been around this thread long enough to know that!! :lmao: ;)

Whew! Child support for eight kids!! :scared1:
