So they are still living here? I don't really watch the show, but I vaugely remember when those kids were born (I think they were looking for lots of donations...a van being one)
I thought this episode was a snooze. Kate and Jon didn't help, they looked bored to death in the chair.
Anyway, I was in the gym the day after Christmas and I'm pretty sure he was there. I sat on my weight machine longer than I should, just staring at him, trying to be certain. Pretty much positive it was him. Is he balding on the back of the head?
Here's the thing .. this show has run full circle, IMO. It's no longer about a young family of multiples trying to get through every day. It's no longer a reality show. Most of the shows now are commercials for resorts, toys, products, etc. And when they're not advertisements, they're show concepts set up by producers. There is little to no everyday life. Well, I guess there is .. this is their every day life now.
The move will be drawn out all through February. I can envision home decorating episodes.. how the kids rooms will be decorated, the packing up of the old house and saying goodbye (which could be a good show), the moving into the new house, and a tour once they've moved it. Fans will love it, hate bloggers will pull their hair out.
They've achieved their goals - Kate is doing more speaking engagements on her own. They're now spokespeople for whatever products. They've achieved a level of financial security.
It's time to move on the yearly updates on TLC and do whatever side work they want. Let the kids go to school and be kids.
Do you think this is J&K's plan? I hope so-I think it would be great for the kids!
I just got a new glass top slide in stove. I had a 14 yr old glass slide in, and we replaced so many parts on it, we finally just bought another one.I thought it was a cute episode and I learned that you shouldn't put a metal lid on a hot stove top!!
DISer's!
I do not watch this show BUT thought maybe you all could help me.....
My friend said there was an episode very recently where Kate placed a Pyrex tea kettle on her ceramic stove and the pot and the stove top EXPLODED!![]()
This happened to a very good friend of mine. I was in the kitchen when she placed a Pyrex tea kettle with cold water on her ceramic stove and the Pyrex exploded into one million little pieces......omg.....this was awful. The ceramic stove did NOT break at all. We still have no idea HOW this happened. It took us hours to clean up the broken glass that FLEW everywhere in her kitchen AND thankfully not into any one's eyes. There were 4 of us in the kitchen when it happened.
Just wondering how they handled this on the show....if anyone remembers the title of that particular epi I see they have many epi's running on TV(TLC) and I would like to view it.![]()
TIA!
It was last night's episode "Soup and Surprises". Kate put a pot lid on the stovetop and the stovetop I think cracked? It was a smooth surface stovetop-I guess an electric stove. It looked like chunks broke off it.
Scary situation!

I was reading the manual, and it said, to never place anything hot, out of the oven, onto the glass cook top.
I think this is something new. I was able to place hot items on my old stove. You would think glass is glass, but it is probably a less dense version.
Then the 5 minute commercial for the bouncer and the 5 minute commercial for play-doh with scouls from Kate thrown in as an endorsement for each.
.
I agree with Madge, this show has run its course. I was one that said I wanted to see more of the original show, at home with the kids.
Well, it can't go back to that because Jon doesn't work anymore, so it isn't Kate doing it all anymore. How many of us SAHM can stay in the kitchen all morning making soup? Also, who makes big pots of soups when it is hot outside. They were all in shorts and t-shirts, so I assume this was shot a few months ago unless PA is having a heatwave.

I can't wait to see how they address the issue of the new house. Are they really going to show how large it is and all the property, if so, then they can't keep telling the untruth of them scrimping and saving. I know, just because you have money doesn't mean you can't budget, but let's get real, the way Kate talks, she makes it sound like they are paycheck to paycheck. That's just not the case anymore.
I wonder if Beth will make an apperance to redecorate the house or if she is on the "out" list with the rest of Kate's family.

I agree. Last night's episode was painful. Instead of the show being about the logistics of a huge family, it's become "let's watch the kids play/fight while Kate makes soup".
I would still gladly watch an annual update show (where are the Dillys by the way?), but this day to day with nobody actually doing anything is really boring.
