Prayers for dad. What's the surgery for? (if I may be so bold as to ask) Let us know how it goes.

Have fun at the wedding...a little time away will do ya good. Again...let us know how it's going...oh...and easy on the tipsy typing!! (you know how weddings are!! )

Oh...and congrats on the weight loss....I think I found what you lost!!

Thanks Marie-Dad has two discs that are pushing on the spinal cord--they are going to remove the discs and put a titanium plate in. The surgery is set for 1030 Thursday morning--im sure ill be able to post or ill call kim sometime Thursday

Tipsy Typing!! wooohoo! You might get some t-t Friday and Saturday--friday is rehearsal dinner and sat is the wedding!

Alright, i made my rounds and this is probably the la st time ill be able to post, at least before i leave..
Tomorrow, my dad's surgery is at noon and then i am leaving around 4am on Friday. Im sure ill talk to Kim at some point, so maybe she can post how the surgery went (thanks budddddy!)

Thanks for ALL the support---Im going ot have my computer with me in Colorado so ill try to check in and post somme pictures!

Hi Jen,

I don't have a journal yet. that is my project for this weekend. I think it will help me on this journey. Right now I am just lurking, and getting to know a few people.

I hope your dad's surgery went well. I will continue to pray for a speedy recovery. Have a wonderful time in Colorado.

Well i am finally home from the hospital..what a day! Thank you all so much for all your prayers and good thoughts..

Dad is okay, but it was a scary few hours.. He went in at 11 and we were told 2 hours...so at 1 they told us things are complicated and they need another couple of hours..FINALLY at 3:15, the surgeon came out. He said things went well, but was far more complicated they originally thought. Instead of taking 2 discs out, they took 3 and a vertabrae..We were able to see him a little after 5 and honestly he looked better than i thought he would look. Hes in a lot of pain and feeling sick from the morphine..we stayed til visiting hours were over (9:00) and came home..I had the hardest time leaving him snce i know i wont see him til Tuesday--i still feel guilty going away when hes in the hospital but hes insisting that i go. Things are looking okay now , just a long day...now i have to get up at 3am to go to colorado!!

I'm so glad the surgery went well. Hopefully the change-up they did will help him live a better life in the long run.

He's in good hands (hello, nurse-Kath) so you have a GOOD time in Colorado!!

We'll miss ya and will be looking for some CO pics when you get back!!

3am came way too early and we headed to the airport--it was raining like CRAZY!!! I got checked in , waited an hour, got on the plane and we were off..I landed at 930 (colorado time!)

Do you EVER sleep? I can understand you being all energized at 2am after a wedding, but then I noticed you posting around 10am. You're NUTS, girl!

sleep is not happening much here! once i get back from being out with the family, im up for a few hours--then im still on jersey time so im waking up at 7 here--when its really 9 at home..so not much sleep..but ill sleep when i get home!

This morning, my 2 uncles, aunt, and 1 cousin and i went to cave of the winds--its at an elevation of 7000 ft i believe...you take a tour of the caves and its just amazing...we got some great pictures which ill post later if anyone wants..

we just came back to the hotel to rest for 30 min and were headed back to my uncles house for a picnic,,then i think were going bowling tonight..busy busy

It wasnt the best flight--we were delayed, then there was a mechanical problem, then half the plane was freezing and the other half hot...people were feeling sick--there was talk about the pressure being off in the plane..then halfway through the flight, the flight attendent asked the gentlemen behind me to go to the front of the plane--they talked with the pilot for about 10 minutse and he came back..no idea what was going on!!

so i am GLAD to be home! ill be working on my pics tomorrow--i wont be able to post alot since theres alot of family, but if anyone wants to see any , i can PM ya
