Jennifer’s Journey to lose 200 pounds (comments welcomed and appreciated)

I know it is disappointing not to see the number you were hoping for, but you are doing awesome. Also remember that you are doing weight training and muscle weighs more than fat. Have you tried monitoring your percent of body fat? Just a thought. Good luck with the next week!

:wave:Hi Heather! Nice to “see” you again.

I was disappointed at first. But I know I did everything right so it will have to come off sometime. :sunny:

I would like to monitor my body fat, but I don’t know how. :confused3 That would help to see the percentage come down. Thanks for the idea.

I don't know ho accurate they are, but I know you can buy a scale that measures it. I don't think they're crazy exensive, maybe 60 bucks? We bought ours a couple years ago, but I don't use that feature because I'm afraid to know LOL!

I bet you are gaining a lot of muscle, esp. in your legs and that will throw everything off! I hope your weekend is going well :)

Keep up the good work! You should be very proud of yourself for sticking to your plan and being smart about your food choices. Before you know it, you'll be under 300. Way to go!

Thanks, I'll have to look for one.

Hope your weekend is going well also. :)

Well, I had my first bad day in a while. I did get in my gallon of water though.:lmao:

First mistake was not going to exercise today. Exercise helps me to keep my food on track.

My second mistake was not having enough food in the house. Being hungry is not a good place to be when you are trying to lose weight.

My third mistake was only eating 300 calories all day. (See mistake two) All healthily and nutritious calories.

My fourth mistake was ordering a pizza. At least it was thin crust just cheese and extra sauce.

My fifth mistake was eating said pizza. I ate about half of it. Not the best choice of foods.

I’m now paying for it. I’m so sick  right now. I keep running to the bathroom. Oh how I wish I just had a nice grilled piece of chicken….

Jennifer!

I hope you are feeling well. I know you will be back on track in no time!
I have had days where I haven't eaten enough or at the right times and the body just rebels.

To mention, I have a fat % scale. It tells you your body fat percent. You program it for your gender and height and it goes from there. Good luck!

Hi Jennifer,

I hope you are feeling better....I totally understand as I am sure everyone else does too, on how you are feeling.

Congrats on the loss....that is great!!! You will be able to fit into that skirt in no time!!!!

Keep up the good work!!

Have a great day :)

I'm feeling better today. I started my day with 45 minutes on the treadmill. :thumbsup2

I started my day off great. I woke up and went to the gym. I was then going to a focus group that paid $175 for two and a half hours. They also provided lunch. Just some sandwiches with lots of veggies and a little mayo. Fits right in with my food plan. Well, they sent me home before they started because they had to many people show up. But they still paid me the full $175! Pretty awesome. I now had a couple hours with nothing planned. I decided to do what any shopping loving girl with a pocket full of money would do. I went to Macy’s. I was able to buy my husband 5 Calvin Klein work shirts for $60. I saved 80% off the original retail. I was pretty happy about that.

I stayed on plan all day. I was even able to resist all the treats at the mall. Then sometime tonight I started thinking about eating some more food. Specifically I was going to have 2 and half servings of peanuts and a Cadbury egg. I made myself enter the extra food in fitday and look at it. I looked and I did not like. The number was just too high. I work to hard exercising to blow it by eating too much. I imagined how I would feel if I were to eat the extra food. I knew when I would wake up I would feel awful. I love waking up and remembering how well I did the day before. It inspires me to do well on that day. And before you know two great weeks go by. The same can be true when I have a bad day as well. Sometime when I have had a bad day it can spiral into a bad week or a few bad weeks. I want to do my best to make my mini goal this September. I want to enjoy Disney World as a thinner and more active person. A person who is strong and does not tire easily. I want this more than anything.

I heard a great quote today by Zig Ziglar “You cannot perform in a manner inconsistent with the way you see yourself.” Well, I see myself as a healthy, active young woman. Acting any other way and I would not be being true to how I feel inside.

And I did make my calorie goal today. Yeah, me :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2::cheer2: :cheer2: It truly does feel like this is the time I will make it.

That is so fantastic. What a great outlook to have, and be able to keep up! I'm starting to feel the excercise really helping me too--I'm hungry but I want healthy things that help my workouts (usually! Last night the banana pudding I had made for a friend was calling my name  ).

You should feel so proud of yourself for all of your hard work and commitment. It's not easy, but you're doing it with flying colors!

I have decided to alter my goal slightly. I originally had a goal to lose 60 pounds by 9/22. We are now leaving for vacation 3 weeks earlier. I need to alter my goal to accommodate the earlier timeframe. I also want to have 4 50-pound goals. My new goal will to lose 50 pounds by September 1st. I’m down 19.1 so I have 30.8 left to lose. This is an average of 1.54 pounds per week. I will give this 100% effort. Halfway mark here I come!!

I want to post before and after pictures at each 50-pound loss. I have a great before picture from the Animal Kingdom. It’s a rare full body shot of me. I would also love to have my first after picture there.:wizard:

Thank you for all the nice complaints. It’s a great feeling to read everyone’s encouraging words.

The crazy thing is with all the exercise I do I actually feel thinner. I don't feel like a 320 pound person. I'm actually starting to feel stronger.

I totally get what you mean about looking for food to aid the workouts. I do that also. I want something that will help my workout be as efficient as possible.

Hi Jennifer,

You have such a great attitude and outlook. That is great!!!!! Your goals look good, I know you can meet them!!!

Keep up the good work!

Have a great day :)

I had my first swimming day today. It went well. I did the breaststroke for 40 minutes. It certainly does not feel as challenging as the treadmill. But I guess any exercise is good exercise.

I didn’t realize when I made my new exercise goals that I had myself walking four days in a row. I’m going to have to change that.

Monday- Weight training
Tuesday- Swimming
Wednesday- Weight training and treadmill
Thursday- Treadmill
Friday- Weight training
Saturday- Treadmill
Sunday- Treadmill

My calories were good today. I ate 1400 calories, which included 26 grams of fiber. I also drank one gallon of water. My daily calorie average this week is 1600.:goodvibes

I'm just catching up on journals, Jennifer. You're doing INCREDIBLE!!!!!!
Keep up the AWESOME work!

:flower3: Thanks

Today is shaping up to be another good day. I'm about to leave for the gym to do my cardio and weights. I've planned my food for the day and it's all entered in fitday.

I found these bars while I was shopping yesterday. They are so good. Balance 100 calories peanut butter crisp. They have 6 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber. Lots of vitamins also. For 100 calories. You can't beat that. Yummy!

I decided to do something different on the treadmill today. I used the incline. :thumbsup2 I did it for twenty minutes. I started with .5% and ending up doing 5% for 10 minutes. It was a bit more intense, but I burned an extra 175 calories and climbed 200 feet. I hope I’m not to sore tomorrow because I want to do it again. I was on the treadmill for 55 minutes and walked 2.6 miles. I also did my weight training routine. For a grand total of 100 minutes of exercise.

Food was good today. My health club has a café inside. I had these great quesadillas. They only use a tiny bit of cheese, some chicken and lots of vegetables. They are also so filling. I could only eat half of them. I drank one gallon of water and had 34 grams of fiber. I ate 1814 calories and my average daily calories are 1673.
