Jennifer’s Journey to lose 200 pounds (comments welcomed and appreciated)

I'm not sore at all today. I thought I would be. I'm so glad. I'm off to see how many feet I can climb today.:thumbsup2

I took a short 10-minute walk today. I also walked on the treadmill today for 60 minutes. 70 minutes of exercise for me today.:cheer2: I have to tell you, I love  the incline. I burned 700 calories today. Which is double what I usually do on the treadmill. I used the incline for the entire 60 minutes. 45 minutes at 5%. I was walking at 2.8. I climbed 607 feet and walked 2.66 miles. I hope I’m not sore tomorrow because I want to do it again.:thumbsup2

Hello Jennifer!

I was reading your new mini goals. Great idea. I also want to go to WDW as a thinner person who doesn't tire out or feel over heated.

Are feeling better? It certainly throws a monkey wrench into the scheme of things.

Sounds like you are doing well!

Have a great day!

Wendy

Are you feeling better?

Hi wendy:)

I'm doing great, thanks. I had a good food day today. 1770 calories with 34 grams of fiber. I drank one gallon of water. My daily average for the week is 1697.

I'm going to the doctor tomorrow for my annual visit. I hope everything goes well.:goodvibes

HI,

Hi Rachel,

Thank you for your nice words. It helps motivate me to hear that I motivate others. We are all helping each other!:grouphug:

I did my weigh in this week a day early. I had an appointment with my doctor this morning. I wanted to know my weight before she weighed me. :scared1: I am down one pound this week. It’s not as much as I would like, but I know I’m doing everything right. :thumbsup2 (expect for the pizza on Sunday:guilty: ) I know if I continue to exercise and eat as I have been doing I will be healthier. I will also lose weight. I’m just so happy I get to change my clippie! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I’m also going to compare my weight loss for the next for weigh ins the the last four. The last four weeks I’ve lost 8.2 pounds. The week before and the week during my TOM I lost the least. I did the same exercises and the same calories as the previous two weeks, but lost only 1.7 pounds compared to 6.5 pounds. I’m wondering if that has anything to do with it. I’ll post my finding over the next month.

I am very pleased with the overall 8.2 pound for the last four weeks.:cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi Jennifer, you are doing so well! I like your six days on, one day off plan. It really helps to know you can have things like pizza, just not too often! You may have only lost one pound due to gaining muscle. That is some serious climbing you are doing on that treadmill, I would imagine that sort of routine really builds some muscle up! Keep up the great work! And I'll bet your doctor is very pleased with you!

Great job Jennifer!

An average of 2 pounds a week will get you where you want to go. And it will stay off!

Have a great weekend!

Wendy

Yesterday: Friday is supposed to be my day off from Cardio. My personal trainer said
I could do cardio 6 days a week, but I have been doing only 5. Using the incline on the treadmill enables me to do it 5 or 6 days per week because it lowers the impact on my knees. She only wanted me doing 4 days on the treadmill, but now with my new love:love: for the incline I can do up to six. Yippee!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Anyway, yesterday I decided to do a mini cardio session since I was there anyhow to do my weights. I did 35 minutes and walked 1.70 miles. I also climbed 300 feet. I ended up doing 6 days of cardio last week and three days of weight training.

My calories yesterday were 1400 with 24 grams of fiber. I was a glass and a half short of a gallon.

I ended the week with a 1638 calorie average per day.

Great job Jennifer!

You are right Wendy :thumbsup2 I just hope I can lose more than a pound next week.:goodvibes

You have a great weekend also.:flower3:

I love:love: the 6 days on and one day off plan. I never feel deprived. I always exercise on Saturdays though. It helps keep me in check so I don’t go overboard.

She was happy when I told her what I was doing. But at first she said "have you gained weight?" :lmao: Umm, no  Oh, well. Well I go back in three months she will see the improvements.:goodvibes

I hope you are doing well with your mom.

I know how you feel about the one pound weight loss. I only loss one pound this week, although I kinda fell off the exercise wagon so that is probably the reason. It was just disappointing after seeing four pounds loss last week. Oh well. I am just glad that I still had a loss.
I really enjoy reading your posts because it helps keep me motivated. Best wishes

I think it is so great that your plan is working for you! I think to many people try to force themselves into a really strict plan, and that's super hard to stick too--esp. if you're like me and need my cookies from time to time :lmao:.

Does your gym have an ellpitical? I ask because last year when I was going to the gym, and before I knew how bad my back was, the elliptical seemed so much better on my knees and hips. I still got a really good workout in, but it was more gentle? If you get bored on the treadmill, it might be a nice change of pace.

Speaking of the TM--awesome work! You are really kicking some butt. That incline is no joke (my thighs ache just thinking about it :lmao: ) Keep it up!

You are doing great Heather. Five pounds in two weeks is really good. :thumbsup2

Thanks for reading, it helps keep me motivated.:goodvibes

You are so right. I need something I can do for the rest of my life. It's very unrealistic to me to think I'll never eat cookies or pizza again. This way I have it built into to my food plan so I don't have to feel guilty.:)

Yes, my gym has about 30 of them. All different kinds. I defiantly will keep them in mind.

Thanks. I have not experienced any soreness yet. I'm still waiting.

Saturday: I had a really good exercise session yesterday. I walked on the treadmill for 65 minutes. I did the incline for the full 65. I just kept moving the incline up. I maxed out at 10.5% for 8 minutes. I climbed 1014 feet and walked 2.64 miles. It said I burned 858 calories.

Sunday: I’m still not sore today from all the walking. I added 10 minutes to my workout time and have added in the incline. And still no soreness. Today was also my fifth day in a row on the treadmill. I’m taking off tomorrow.

My work out today was great. I did 65 minutes. I climbed 1060 feet and walked 2.5 miles. I maxed out at 11.5% today. I did that for about 10 minutes. The treadmill said I burned 880 calories.

I drank my gallon of water today and had 25 grams of fiber. I ate 1684 calories. So my weekly average is 1543.

I also made my goal on Saturday for the April exercise challenge. Right now I'm 100 minutes over my goal. When I made my goal I really was not sure I could do it. I never thought I would go over it. Bring on the next challenge! :yay:

Congratulations on reaching your goal for the april exercise challenge:cheer2:

Hi Jennifer,

You are doing such a great job...Keep up the great work.

After reading your journal, I decided to start working out 6 days a week and having a day off. I was trying to work out for 5 days and take Saturday and Sunday off, but decided to change that. Thank you for the inspiration!!!

Keep up the great work!!!

Have a great day :)

Can I ask about fiber? I've been working on eating more, but I guess I'm not sure how or where to find it.

I eat Fiber One cereal for breakfast pretty often (it has like 14 g./serving or something like that.)

But then I'm stuck. Whole wheat bread is good, but I don't want to eat too much bread. What veggies have a lot of fiber?

Sorry to crowd your journal with silly questions, but you do such a great job with your eating, so I thought I'd get some advice :)
