Jennifer’s Journey to lose 200 pounds (comments welcomed and appreciated)

Congratulations! I am really proud of your commitment. I can totally relate to to feeing of having to "lose a person". I am 228 and technically my ideal weight is like 110-115, since I am only 5'2":scared1: . so that is like a weight loss of 113-118lbs. That is a little overwhelming so my first major goal is to weigh 150lbs then I will reassess.
Anyway I just wanted to give you best wishes and I will be right there with you trying to lose and make healthy choices

Hi there,

Way to go on your work out!!! That is great. You may just pass your goal this month!!!

Keep up the good work!

Have a great day :)

Thank you all for your kind words. It really means a lot to me to read :surfweb: all these encouraging words here on the dis.

Just last night I was contemplating having some chocolate. I thought to myself “if I do that I will be over my calories for the day.” That’s not what got me to resist temptation. I then thought “if you go over your calories you’ll have to write it in your journal.” Well, I decided not to have it because as good as it would have tasted I didn’t want to write on here I went over my calorie limit. I ended up being on track for calories again thanks to all you wonderful people who read and post on my journal. :grouphug:

My weigh in is on Saturday. My week so far has been perfect in terms of food and exercise. I am taking a break from exercise today and tomorrow I’m seeing my personal trainer. Wish me luck.:goodvibes

:flower3: Thanks for you sweet post.

Losing a person is extremely overwhelming. :scared1: I really like the idea of smaller goals. It seems more attainable to lose 60 pounds rather than 200 pounds.

:wizard: Good luck making healthily choices. It’s not always easy, but you have a lot of support right here.:grouphug:

Hello Jennifer!

Just sending some good vibes your way! :goodvibes

Hope your week has been great and will finish up on a positive note!

Wendy

Hi Jennifer,

Way to go on resisting the chocolate!!! That has to be tough. I am a candy person, anything but chocolate...don't like it. So I can relate when it just candy!!!

You are doing a great job....keep it up

Have a great day :)

I had a great day yesterday. I took a break from exercise so my legs could rest. My calories were right on track.:thumbsup2

Today I had a good workout. I was able to do 3.1 for 40 minutes for a total of 55 minutes on the treadmill. I went 2.7 miles. 3 miles here I come!

I’m going to meet with my personal trainer tonight. I’m going to ask her to help me establish a weight training routine.

Thanks everyone for the continued support.:flower3:

Well, I had my session with my personal trainer. It went pretty well. I do have a lot to learn though. Our health club has a lot of nice weight machines. Some of them I didn’t even know how to sit on.:confused3 I probably need to work with her several more times to learn a routine I can do unsupervised.

Tonight I slipped into a pair of pants I have not worn in a looong time. I washed and dried them to ensure they were not stretched out. And miracle of miracles they fit.I don’t have many bottoms at my current size.I was always in denial about being this big. But in about 20 pounds I’ll practically
have a new wardrobe. One thing I especially want to fit into is a blue skirt I bought from Lane Bryant 3 years ago. I only wore it one time. I started gaining weight right after I got it. It’s a size 24. I so badly want to wear it on my cruise.:beach: I only need to lose 28 pounds to fit in to iit.

I had another great day yesterday. Exercised and ate right. I ate fewer calories this week and exercised more then I did last week. I sure hope the scale agrees. I don’t except to lose 4 pounds again, but I’m hoping for 1.75 loss to meet my weekly goal. Wish me luck :wizard: tomorrow.

The best part of yesterday was we finalized our plans for Disney World!!!:cool1:  :cool1:

Nine days at the Wilderness lodge this January. I did want to go to Disney in September instead of a cruise, but my husband said we couldn’t go to Disney for every vacation. Umm, why not?:confused3 Honestly though I am getting excited about the cruise. Because I know when we get back it will only be three more months till Disney!! I can’t wait to go and have an easier time walking around all day. I’ve managed to be okay all my trips, but it’s not been very easy. I'm just so excited. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo::woohoo:

Good luck with your WI ,Congratulations on booking your trip to Disney,

Good luck on your WI! It sounds like you are doing everything right! I wish I could be that committed, esp. w/the eating side of things.

Thank you also for the heads up on fitday. I hadn't heard of that before, but when I read your journal, I went right over and signed up. I think it will really help me with my food intake.

Awesome work :)

I couldn't agree more! In fact, we are terrible, because the last 5 big vacations our family has taken,(such as outside of the state) have been at WDW. We do short local trips, but anytime we can save the cash, we head for WDW. On my 40th birthday, DH and I decided to a trip to do what ever we wanted. We looked at cruises, spas, major cities...but ended up 5 days at Animal Kingdom Lodge. :goodvibes We just can't get enough of the holding hands and atmosphere!

Have a great Holiday and a great weekend!

Wendy

Thank you so much. Your very kind.:flower3:

Being committed to lose weight for me means you want it more than anything else. I want to look and feel better more than I want a hot fudge sundae. There are times when I would rather eat unhealthily and not exercise. Obviously that’s how I got to this weight. I’ve recently come to the realization that life is fragile. Anything I can do to make to improve the quality of my life I’m going to do. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.

Fitday is great. I used the online version for a while. I bought the software a few years ago. It is so worth the money. It's a lot easier to use and has a lot more features. I love it! It has a lot more foods in the database which makes it a lot easier to enter it your food. It takes forever when you are just starting out. I pretty much eat the same things all the time so it’s quick now.

Well, I weighed in today. I'm down 2.5 pounds for the week. Bringing my total to 18.5 total pounds lost. I think next week I just might be changing my clippie!!!! Well, I'm off to go exercise. :yay:

I was .5 closer to my 3 mile goal. I did 2.75 miles today on the treadmill. I think by the end of next week I'll be at 3 miles in 55 minutes. I did 40 minutes at my target heart rate 32 minutes at 3.1 and 8 minutes at 3.2.

Great job Jennifer! Weight loss and treadmill time! I can do 45 minutes on the TM, that's only because I watch a concert dvd on the portable while I walk. I am up with the incline from months ago, and my speed is increasing. I just can't increase the time. I have severe motion sickness, and too much longer on the treadmill and it takes about 20 minutes for me to be able to walk straight. :rotfl:

Great job!

Happy Easter!

Wendy

:wave:Hi Wendy. Happy Easter to you to!

I never touch the incline. I do not like hills. That’s really good if you can do it. It’s enough of a challenge for me just to walk. Good for you for doing it. I’m always impressed with people who can do it. :thumbsup2

I need some really good music :music:to keep me going. It helps pass the time. :hourglass And 55 minutes seems like a very long time.

Sorry about your motion sickness.

I love the Animal Kingdom Lodge! It's so romantic.:cloud9:

Well, I think I may have shown my husband the light. We are just about ready to cancel our cruise and go back to Disney!:dance3: We have annual passes and with the free dining promo Disney is very affordable. If I can get the resort and dates I want on Thursday, I’ll be canceling the cruise. I just love it so much. Wish me luck.:goodvibes

Good Luck with reaching your goal. I've been reading your posts. Keep up the good work!

Isn't it fun when we're able to get our way :) DH had said no more disney until after we had kids, but well, I have to do the marathon, and it just happens to be at disney....I'm so sneaky LOL.

Either way though, it sounds like you guys are going to have a great vacation!
