We are booked aboard this cruise and I am so excited! We will be sailing to celebrate the end of graduate school for me, and we are hoping to be able to do a back to back with the 7 night Eastern on the 14th!

Is anyone else joining us on this cruise??? :cool1:

I hopefully will be joining you with a couple of my closest friends. We are trying to get this together in the next month, it's hard to work out when we are all away at school.
Here's to hoping it works out.:worship:

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

Hey! My husband & I will be on this cruise! Leaving the kids @ home this time around. We booked when we were on the Dream last month. Looking forward to going on a Western Caribbean cruise!

Welcome SheaBear! I am sending lots of pixiedust: your way in hopes that you and your friends will be able to join us on this cruise! Have you ever cruised before??

Welcome Jodi! We were actually on the Dream last month, too! We did the 3-night cruise on Feb 9th and loved it and re-booked on board! Have you done many disney cruises??

No WAY! We were on the Dream the 9th, too! Wait, no, we were on a B2B on the 10th & 13. That's when we re-booked. We've been on a 3, 4, 7, then these 2 recent B2Bs...all Disney. How 'bout you??

Oh wow, that is crazy! After a little confusion, I have been reminded that the cruise itself actually was on the 10th-- I think I had the 9th in my mind because for so long I knew that was the day we were flying to FL!! So we were on the same cruise!

That was our first cruise of any kind, and we fell in love with the idea of cruising and with DCL! (Being upgraded to a verandah room might have helped with my Disney bias... but I've always been a disney freak) I am very excited to go on a cruise with more ports and a little more time to explore the ship. And the warm weather in the middle of winter definitely won't hurt!

What did you think of the Dream compared to the other Disney ships???

Yes. I have cruised before.. with Disney I have done a 3-day, 4-day, two 5-days, two 7-days, and a 10-day. Started in June of 2001 and last one was in June of 2010.

I've done 2 other cruised on Carnival and will never go back.. DCL IS THE WAY TO GO!

I'm really really hoping things work out to be on this cruise or I may seriously cry.:worried:

Yeah, I had to think about it, too cause the 9th was in my head FOREVER as the day we flew out.

We stayed in an inside stateroom & loved it. While it seemed a bit smaller than the Magic/Wonder, the virtual porthole was terrific! We've always stayed in inside rooms. This cruise coming up though, we're leaving the kids & booked a verandah! SO pumped!

As far as comparison, besides the size, I would say I enjoy both ships equally. I LOVED the 687 bar on the Dream & loved their 687 Ale. The food on the Dream was, IMHO, excellent. And the coffee wasn't that bad either - definitely better than the Magic!! Food @ the buffet on the Dream blows away the other ships. Perhaps they will upgrade on the other ships?

Magic is great, though. Less crowded, a bit more intimate. More hot tubs! :rotfl:, better bartenders that make stronger drinks!! :rolleyes1. Hey, it can't be that bad!! We signed up again, right??

Is anyone traveling with their kids? We are taking our (at time of the cruise) 3 yo, 7 yo, 9 yo and 18 yo.

We went on the Magic in 2009 and LOVED every minute of it. We took a NCL cruise to Alaska last June and were completely disappointed with the cruise (i.e. entertainment, poor food, long waits at the restaurants, felt like we were nickel and dimed constantly.....).

:yay: I can't wait until our cruise!

Hey Warren!

Welcome aboard - we're actually traveling WITHOUT kids on this one :rotfl:. It'll be the first time without them...:cloud9: :sad2: :lmao:. Kinda glad to hear you had a bad time on NCL :rolleyes1! We've always contemplated jumping ship (no pun intended) w/ Disney b/c other cruise lines are so much cheaper & we can sail out of NYC...but have always resisted. Now I'm glad we did!

My DH & I are debating between booking for this cruise or one later in February. I am leaning towards this one, but I am not sure if my manager will give me the time off work so close to the Holidays. Plus, there isn't a thread yet for the other week! :thumbsup2. It will be just the two of us, and our first cruise!

:welcome: Warren and tggrrstarr! :welcome:

tggrstarr, I can definitely relate to having some uncertainty about when you'll be able to take vacation-- I have encountered that a number of times at my current position! But I am sending some pixiedust: your way in hopes that you can cruise with us! I've only been on a 3-night cruise so far, but we had so much fun, I can't wait to try a 7-night on the Magic!

Warren, my partner and I won't be traveling with any children either, as they tend to frown on bringing our 4-legged furry kids on board :dog2:. But we're like three year olds at heart, does that count?? :rotfl:

I'm sorry to hear that NCL was disappointing. How was cruising in Alaska, itself? We've thought about doing that a few times, but the timing just never fits with our plans.

First timer on a 7 nighter -

Solo traveler -

First timer into Key West, etc and looking forward to it.popcorn::

Just booked a couple staterooms on this cruise for DW and Me plus our 2 - 20 somethings kids.

This is our 3rd DCL 7 night - the first was a Western that ended up being dubbed the mystery cruise by my family. Bad weather forced us to skip Key West and go directly to Cozumel, then we went back to Key West (not fun re-entering the US). Then we could not go to Grand Cayman so we were the very first Disney ship to ever go to Costa Maya.

It was fun but I'm looking forward to the things we did not get to do that first time around.

Hi Everyone! We'll be on this cruise with you...myself and my two daughters, 20 and 21. This will be our 18th Disney Magic cruise! :dance3:

Anyway, we love the Western. We actually got on our last cruise a few weeks ago saying that we were maybe done DCL for awhile. By day 4, we were booked again! :lmao: Yes, we are addicted to the Mouse!:love::love:

Hey Fawn

My 21 DD and 24 DS will be with us on this cruise - we should plan to meet up so the 20 somethings can get together

Hi everyone, we have also booked ourselves on this cruise. We are taking our 2 daughters 6 and 8. This is second cruise and 2nd Western. Went last December and loved it so doing again. If anyone has questions, although not a cruise or disney expert, we are happy to assist if we can. See you in 9 months. pirate:

Hi everyone, we just booked our 3rd Disney cruise but it's our first on the Magic  We're a group of 19 and counting! BlackDuck, how was the weather during your December cruise? I hope we have some warm weather for January!:goodvibes
