JANUARY 27, 2007 "PAL MICKEY" Western Magic ROLL CALL

Decisions about clothes because you have ample choices is a good thing!

(and hey - we just hit our 1,000 post on this thread!)

I see nothing wrong with wanting what we want ...AND having it!

I need one bag for shoes alone - :rotfl:

Really, we are a family of four...........my kids each have their own suitcase, we have the garment bag, my DH suitcase, my suitcase and one extra bag packed with another bag to bring home souveniers in. In all we will check 6 bags and possibly check in 8 bags to bring home. In that small last suticase is our toiletries that could be checked if need be and also another extra softsided bag that could be checked. I always pack and extra bag - last time our biggest suticase broke and we were glad to have that extra bag to carry home our clothes in. There is NO WAY I could do with only 3 suitcases - YIKes:scared1: See you guys reall soon!!!!

Thanks for justifying my suitcase dilemma everyone. If DH mentions it again, I'll just print out those responses. I know I could get by on less clothes, but hey..I'm a girlie girl and I need what I need.

My DH is a certified overpacker. Usually I'm all over him about the amount he brings. This year I decided it's a very special vacation so I'll just let it go for a change. You know what, this time he is the one that is concerned about the amount of luggage. So far we are at 5 cases for 5 people not counting carry ons. Add on a stroller and backpacks and such and we will be needing a trailer just to get us to the port!

I know what you mean about a wagon to bring the luggage. But it will be behind the car. We are scared that the luggage won't all fit in the car and will have to take truck to the airport .

Last time got away with two suitcases and a suit one for our dressey clothes. But the kids are getting bigger and so are their clothes not to mention their shoes. So I need a suitcase for each child now before they could share.

What works well is to have your clothes so tight that your body takes the wrinkles out of them. If you eat enough on the ship, that can happen!

OK, that one made me laugh!

Binky1, so glad to hear everything worked out for your MIL.

The reports about the weather sound great. I sweat like a pig (??? One of these days I'm going to visit a farm to find out if pigs really do sweat). :scared:

We never did get our packing done this past weekend as hoped, but vacation starts on Wednesday, so we should be in good shape by Friday.

Now for the Bahamas Immigration Arrival Card, between this thread, some googling and our travel agent, I got the following info for our cards. The tough one was abbreviating Township of Washington, NJ for City of Travel Agency. On another disboards thread, a DCL cruiser said 0 or 1 work for Intended Stay (Nights), so I just put 1 because 0 sounds funny. Anyway, here is the info. Hopefully it will help someone else.

SECTION 1

Passport Number: <LEAVE BLANK IF NOT USING A PASSPORT>
Discovery Cruises/Ferry/Other Ship: <CHECK>
Date of Arrival: 010207
City where you boarded the plane/boat: PTCANAVERAL

SECTION 2

Travel Agency Name: wdwvacations.com
City of Travel Agency: Twp of Wash. NJ
Intended Stay (Nights): 1
Hotel: <CHECK>
Hotel Name: Disney Magic
Trip Purpose: Vacation

I'm glad that made someone laugh. I was beginning to think no one had noticed. ;)

Everyone should note that the Bahamas form info depends on your individual circumstances. If you booked directly with DCL and are not staying at WDW, then wdwvacations is not your travel agency. For boarding city I put "Port Canav." which is all that would fit in the blocks. As someone pointed out, the officials are well aware of from where the Magic sails, so hopefully that's okay.

Now that I've "announced" that I'm taking two bags to check this time, I've pretty much changed my mind (Being a woman I have that right! - LOL).

As my carry-on I intended to take either my DCL tote/small shoulder duffel or my little wheeled Mickey bag (converts to a backpack but I've never used it that way). So in order to hold Pal Mickey's clothes I was going to check a second bag. I had totally forgotten that I have a wheeled laptop bag that also has room for clothes or other items. Since I will not be taking my laptop, I will experiment with this bag tomorrow and if I can get my toiletries and miscellaneous stuff to fit in there along with Pal Mickey's clothes, then that will be my carry-on and I'll be back to one checked bag. :thumbsup2

UPDATE 1/23/07: Experimented and decided to go back to 2 checked bags. Why should I have to carry Pal Mickey's clothes in the terminal and to lunch when I will be carrying Pal Mickey himself? No - Two bags it is, folks!

I think that the date of arrival is 02/02/2007.:goodvibes

I picked up Elijah's birth certificate today and stopped by Home Depot for my Alien Green Mickey heads. :rotfl2: DH doesn't understand me. Now I'm debating whether to make paper signs and hang them up with magnets or try to find magnet paper. :confused3 I'll probably just stick with the magnets I already have.

Ilea turned 4 today. party: :bday: party: She has been telling everyone she wanted a pink birthday and then we would go on the cruise. She got her pink birthday alright. Pink cupcake, pink icing, pink sprinkles, pink cupcake liners, and pink candles. It looked like Pepto-Bismal, but she loved it.

She got more Disney Fairies for her birthday. I'm starting to loose track of the names. There's Tinkerbell, Beck, Bess, Prilla, Vidia, Fira, Dulcie, Iris think there's one more that she has... oh, Pluck. I love Disney Fairies. I'm hoping to see more in Downtown Disney on Friday. :tinker:

OK... question for the travel experts. Can I take my prescription meds in my plastic organizer. You know the one that sorts them by day or do I need to take them in the bottles from the pharmacy? Also, how many suitcases is average? I want to take one big one, one medium one and a rolling garment bag. This is for a family of 4. DH thinks we should only need 2 total.

They keep talking about a storm system coming up here at the end of the week. Obviously they don't know about our travel plans because NOTHING can keep us from getting on that ship even if we have to walk from CT to Florida (dragging our 3 suitcases of course. LOL)

How funny, My husband would kiss the ground if we had 3 pieces of luggage. We have two garment bags, one large suitcase, one medium suitcase, one small suitcase, one large duffle bag, one medium duffle bag, one small duffle bag and two carry ons. We are also a family of four and I am sure we will not even use half of the stuff I am bringing. I just can't help myself.

Okay, we are almost packed and we leave @ 7am tomorrow for the sunny south. I think we have everything ready but I was wondering about the immigration form also. We booked directly with DCL (except our flights), so would I put that in the 'Travel agency' box? And what city should I use, Orlando, WDW, or what?

Although Disney Cruise Line's mailing address for their office is in Lake Buena Vista, their physical address is in Celebration FL. It is listed on the cruise documents.

Taswira and I used DCL as well. She'll come on here today and see that and should have the answer. (she has the forms for both of us so I don't know)

I hope it's sunny for you! The Weather Channel says a mix of clouds and sun tomorrow - may the Mix be with you!! :)

why the heck does immigration need to know where you booked your holiday thru? The forms are confusing enough without adding more bs to the system!

Hi - I'm not on this cruise but will be cruising on Feb. 24th - I was wondering if anyone out there could pick up an extra set of Navigators and send them to me. Also, I have a 7 yr old DD and would like the navigators for her too.

Thank you in advance - I would really appreciate it!!:goodvibes

LOL - They used to be really easy and there were enough blocks to write in without guessing at how to abbreviate. I don't know why they changed it. I don't think it was for security purposes, because even a few years ago the form still required the same info but was clear and easy to complete. Oh, well. Who can explain ANYTHING going on with stuff like this nowadays? :confused3

So they can track you easier? Maybe I watch too many episodes of Law and Order: Criminal Intent

Of course if you WERE planning on doing something illegal or terroristic...would you put the correct info?

Actually it's probably some person thinking, "People going on cruises? I'll punish them!" :lmao:
