JANUARY 27, 2007 "PAL MICKEY" Western Magic ROLL CALL

The main reason they need to know your travel agency is because IF anything happened on the islands it would be under the jurisdiction of that island's government and not DCL, so they would be better able to find the details on you and your emergency contacts, etc. Although DCL does have your emergency contact info, they generally do not know as much about each passenger as a personal travel agent would, especially if someone booked with a local agent in their home town and not a virtual online business. Also, regarding terrorism, it would allow them to easily track your method of payment and who paid for the cruise. That is important if a security threat arises, and is just par for the course for travel nowadays. Airlines are not the only ones "tracking" us.

As for putting incorrect info on the form - If it was a deliberate act, one could get in very big trouble for that. DCL DOES check these forms at the terminal and if they are incorrect they must be redone.

Makes sense and I figured it had to do with tracking. As for putting correct information - the normal person (like you and I and most of the population) of course would.

I AM all for reasonable security measures. Even though some things seem to be a pain - I really DO want safeguards to be in effect.

Well we are all packed and are ready to leave the snow tonight. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
We fly out just before nine so we will arrive pretty late at BCV but we will be in the parks early tommorow morning (I hope). Well everyone have safe travels, 3.5 hours and I;m leaving for the airport:banana:

Safe travels explorer1977, lucky you getting out of the snow already.

Heard it is suppose to be chilly this weekend. Now I will have to rethink what we will wear the morning of the cruise. Don't want to freeze the kids. I was hoping we could get away with wearing our jeans down, and wear the same ones back.

I do remember that the first night in the dinning rooms it is very cold so you might want to bring a sweater with you to dinner. Two years ago the servers had me and my daughter wrapped in tableclothes because we were so cold. I didn't have any sweaters with me. The air was on and they can't adjust it or something. And of course the more south we move the warmer the air becomes and you love the air conditioning on the boat.

Yup safe travel fellow Canadians ( and non-Canadians as well!!). Picked up some extra sunscreen today, am almost finished packing and now all I have to do is wait..... can someone please make the clock tick faster!!! See you on Saturday!

I love the air conditioning on the ship because I hate the "muggy" feeling without it, although it isn't as bad this time of year. However, if I wear something sleeveless I always have a "cover-up" with a sleeve, whether long or short. The only thing that bothers me is that in moving around the ship to different areas you keep switching from cold to warm to cold. On my last Magic cruise the open area at the stairways and elevators always seemed way too warm for comfort.

When I took my elderly mother on DCL, she was always cold because she's the type who is frequently "chilly." In the dining rooms and in the Walt Disney Theatre she learned never to be without a sweater or jacket.

For any first-time cruisers, be aware that if your room air conditioner is working properly and you lower the temp so it will stay cool in the day time, if you leave it that way it can feel like it's freezing when you return to your room in the evening after the shows and dinner. If you are going to be out of your room, move the temp up a bit. It doesn't take any time for it to get cold again when you lower it back.

Have a safe trip everyone! :goodvibes

Ditto to all that are beginning their traveling, be safe. For those traveling up to Saturday safe travels to you too. I really hope to meet many if not all of you onboard at some point.

Hey brady! Good to see you posting! :goodvibes

Are you back home yet? Packed yet? :yay:

No I am in Tallahassee. I have a mtg at 10a in the morning which should last a few hours. Then I will drive home. Thurs I have to run by the Florida office in Lake Mary, complete a report and get it submitted by 5p, and sorta clear up some things for work before going on vacation.

I have taken Friday off since I had to come to Tally on Sunday this week. Thankfully taking Friday off will give me time to do those last minute run to store, packing, well repacking and repacking for me LOL. I am sure Thurs night until I leave Sat. morning I will pack and repack, try every suitcase I have until I feel comfortable how things are packed in which case. I do have my carry on and one checked bag packed but am sure will repack those again trying different luggage LOL.

So funny I travel for work almost weekly and have no problem overpacking, and have what I need. But for this vacation I know I will over pack, doing that what if thing. For work I know if I forget or need something I just find the closet target/walmart/walgreens and go buy it. Won't be able to find a tender to take me to nearest target so feel i need to pack for every possible what if i can think of LOL.

The good thing for me in repacking and trying different luggage I usually then remove things as I figured out its something I probably won't need. So its good for me to pack, repack, unpack, repack etc....

I also got my hair cut and a perm last weekend. So now have to exchange out the hair stuff I have packed, and pack for how my hair is now. I am loving this perm, as its not curly just lots of waves and body. Wash it, pick it out, put some gel and out the door. <G>

Ok I am rambling as I sit here at hotel trying to think of all i need or have to do by Saturday morning <G> Thankfully I will be home by tomorrow late afternoon/early evening.

see ya Saturday. Hope to catch up with you and Holly before boarding. Then of course with DisGal as soon as she gets there. may have to let her use my travel electric chair as she will be worn out just getting to ship due to her flight arrangements <G>

Why don't you give me a call when you get to the terminal? I'll have my cell on. The terminal is supposed to open at 10 and we'll probably get down there before it opens. :)

will do. my cell will be on until DisGal gets there and/or until I meet up with her. so if you don't hear from me call me. I plan to get there around the same time you and I discussed before.

now if i could figure out how to skipped the mtg in the morning, head on home, find way to magically get the report written and submitted, etc... then i could soley focus on getting ready for the cruise <G>

Remember that commercial WDW had out or maybe still does where the little boy is in his sister's room, parent walks in stays get sleep/bed. the little boy falls back on the bed and says I'm too excited to sleep. I imagine that will be me Friday night <G>

For boarding city I put "Port Canav." which is all that would fit in the blocks.

That's good, I like "Port Canav" better than PTCANAVERAL. PT always makes me think of Point and not Port.

I think that the date of arrival is 02/02/2007.

DOH! Homer did it!

...two garment bags, one large suitcase, one medium suitcase, one small suitcase, one large duffle bag, one medium duffle bag, one small duffle bag and two carry ons....I just can't help myself.

:lmao: For some reason that struck a funny bone!

can someone please make the clock tick faster!!!

I'm working on it....I took the plastic cover off the face of the clock and am spinning the hands like crazy, but nothing seems to be happening!???

Ditto on the safe travel wishes to explorer1977, Cruising canuck, and anyone else taking off for WDW.

M, I, Ceeee...
See ya real soon.
K, E, Y...
Why? Because we'll be there too!
M, O, U, S, Eeeeeeee!

:mickeyjum

Hey brady - you got a chuckle out of me when you said "take a tender to Target". Love that.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

LOL DisGal. Can't see you me excuse me DCL, could you Tender me to the nearest Target? I need this or that? LOL. So guess I just better overpack. And know what I am not worrying about whether I do or don't. And not worrying or concerned about how much I bring. The luggage I will hide and get out of the way no matter which ones I bring. But if I bring two checked and one carry-on, and I bring too much oh well. I will tip the porters very well <G>

Brady,

I can't wait to see your perm! Taswira saw you recently and said you looked absolutely wonderful!:goodvibes

We're almost there - we're almost there! (soon to be switched to "Are We There Yet?!!")

My biggest thing about taking suitcases is that I wanted to be able to fit them all inside one suitcase which would fit under the bed. Since I don't really have to lug them too far as Taswira and I are driving it's not a big deal...unless I did so much it wouldn't leave room in her car for her luggage .... (or US):lmao:
