January 2011!!

We'll be there Jan 22 - Feb 1! Can't wait!

Now I'm freaking out to realize it's less than 100 days away! FINALLY!

Just booked today for a girls' Pop getaway! 1/12-1/16! Going there to check out possible Disney wedding venues! So excited! Happy dance for another trip so close!:banana:

So did a last minute trip for BF's birthday in early Jan - completely spontaneous last minute trip for January:hug:

We're arriving on 1/5 and leaving 1/9. I wondered why I could score free dining because of our arrival date but it wasn't available again till the day we left. Now I know - the marathon.

I'm absolutley thrilled to be going, trying really hard to keep it from the kids (who seem to think something is up), but scared about the crowds.

Any one who is NOT a runner (and I am really an anti-runner) go that weekend? How hideous is it?

The Crowd Calendar says 2's and 3's out of a scale of 1-10, 10 being crowded beyond belief. Everyone has to go back to work and school once the holiday is over.

We just booked a January trip last night! I'm so excited!

January 23 - 26!

We've never been there in January...how's the weather?

OK - I can handle that. I've been kind of worried about crowds and stuff - especially for the big rides like Soarin' and Everest (which are a challenge at any time of year). I've only gone during off-peak times like early December, early October, and mid-March. When I saw that there are kids Marathon events scheduled for 11 AM on a Friday I started wondering if Florida kids go back to school later - mine only have a week for Christmas and are back on 1/3.

What is the Buzz and Woody Best Friends run? Where is that and when? The marathon maps provided on this site are great but they only cover the half and full marathon.

January 23 - 26!

We've never been there in January...how's the weather?

The weather in Jan. can be nice and warm or on the chilly side. I always recommend preparing for both extremes. Again, layer up to layer down. The mornings can be very chilly and the afternoons can reach the mid-80s. You just never know. I know this doesn't help much but it's the truth! :confused3

January and early February, I think, are pretty great when it comes to crowds. I really can't complain. I have been in WDW in Dec., Jan and/or Feb. and have been pleased.

January 21st-25th with a group of friends. Can't wait! 3 nights at BLT and 1 night at Pop.

DW and I were trying to go in December for a last minute 4 day / 3 night trip but we couldn't get the dates and room availability to work out. So, we bumped to Jan 16 - 22. We'll miss seeing all the Christmas decorations, but now we get to go for a whole week!

We are trying to decide if we want to tell the kids now about our January trip or wait until christmas morning. We were thinking about getting their park tickets and putting them in their stockings. I'm dying to discuss it with them though...UGH! My daughter has always wanted to stay at OKW and I want to tell her! I don't know what to do!

I say wait until Christmas. It will had so much excitment to the day.

Wendy, our family's trip is 1/30-2/6, and we're waiting to tell them Christmas morning. I am sending DS1 (age 10) and DS2 (age 8) on a scavenger hunt... 10 clues hidden around the house, and at the end they will find a large wrapped box. When they open it, Disney helium balloons will float out, with a sign attached that says, "We're going to Disney World in 36 Days!!" I'll have Disney tees, a couple of Disney video games, some trading pins, and a couple of other goodies in there. I'll also have a countdown chain in there as well.

They counted down for over 4 months before our last trip and it was just too long. I can't wait to see their faces when they finally find out we're going back! We were there this February, and they don't expect to go back for another 2 years. I couldn't wait that long! :rotfl2:

Have fun, how ever you decide to tell them!! :)

We'll be at WDW January 28th - February 7th! Staying at POFQ. It will be my DD's (6) first Disney trip and my first time staying at a Disney resort. We can't wait. Going to Florida in January will be a nice break from our cold Boise winters!:cheer2:

That's such a cute and creative idea!!! I love it! :lovestruc

We plan to wait to tell our kids on Christmas too. It's so hard to wait and we talk about Disney daily. The girls are worried that we will never be able to go there again!

:yay::banana::cool1:I bought my airline tickets today so to me, that makes it totally offical! Jan 22-29 at Pop! :cool1::banana::yay:

ptdealer... maybe we will run into each other the last couple days

We will be there at the same time! Our trip is Jan 23-29. But we are staying at ASMovies. We have a 4 year old son too :)

We are, we are!! Plan to be there some part of the week of 01/15-22. Hubby told me 5 years ago that he wants to do the Backstage Magic tour for his 40th bday, so I hope to make it so. :rolleyes1 And the fact that next year is also the 40th anniv of WDW, it should be lots of fun!!!

Looking forward to all the planning with everyone!!

We finally got booked! We will be at Coronado Springs Jan 15-20. :thumbsup2 Will be a new resort for us, and we're SOOOOOooooo looking forward to it, even though we'll also be there 16 days from now!!

We have tix to La Nouba, and the Keys to the Kingdom tour (he decided to save the Backstage Magic tour for another time).

And we're hoping it's not so bloomin' cold this Jan, so we can try out the awesome pool...:yay:
