Hey all. This will be our first Disney cruise. Me:34 Wife:33 and two daughters 13 and 10.
5th year going to Disney World...we love it. After cruise we hanging out a few more days and hitting parks.
Anyway, only been in Florida once in January. Was kind of cold. Was very reluctant booking this for January, but was best time for us to book. I see some of you have taken many cruises in January.....how is weather generally?
As for us....I'm the crazy planner type. Gotta plan everything out months in advance. Wife is laid back..do whatever kind. Kids are happy just being there. Were getting excited now!!!!

I am getting really excited for the cruise, still in the planning stages on how we are going to tell the boys on Christmas morning, but so far I have purchased "treasure chests" to fill with hints on where we are going and I am doing a message in a bottle for the official announcement. Goodies are in the works for the Fish Extenders, and our door will be decorated in magnets galore with a pirate theme. Cannot wait to see the expressions of my boys! The last big thing I need to do is make the Fish Extender.

You will LOVE cruising with Disney. I see you have a 10 year old; we will be sailing with our granddaughters who are 9 and 11.

Sounds good. Don't be overwhelmed by the Fish Extender thing. I have seen people just using stocking and gift bags as their FEs when they didn't have anything else to use. If you look through the Cruise thread, you will see ideas for some of the easier things that people leave -- pencils, note pads, pens, little bottles of hand sanitizer, highlighters, etc. It doesn't have to be a big deal, just a little extra fun for the cruise.

So my wife dropped the laptop and we were without puter for a few days, but it's working again. Anyway...this is my kids first cruise and I am wondering if they would get seasick at all. I heard alot about seabands and Bonine. Anyone tried these before? With kids? I doubt they will get seasick, but I want to bring some stuff just in case. I heard Disney boats are alittle more rocky in the water.
As far as the fish thing goes, not only did I miss the deadline but I didn't have time to really research it as I was crazy busy at work. So I would have opted out anyway. But I do appreciate the offer.

Hi Everybody,
I'm new to this board. My family of 4 will be on the 4 night cruise that leaves jan 17th. We are going to the parks for 4 nights afterwards. Anyone else going that is interested in sharing transportion back to the parks. We were planning on booking happy limo and saw that a big van that fits up to 10 is almost the same price as a sedan that fits 4. Just wondering if anybody is interested. We will be looking to leave as soon as we can get off the ship.

So excited about our upcoming cruise! We are planning to spend the day at Atlantis, booking thru Comfort Suites. We have 5 people going, as well as my friend's family of 5. We have to book three rooms, since we have a total of 10people and you only get 4 wristbands per room.

Does anyone want to go in on a room? We would have two extra wristbands. The rooms are around $250 (will get an exact amount when we book), so it would be around $125 for two to have full Atlantis access, including the waterslides and pools. E-mail me if interested- Susanhammett@bellsouth.net.

Hey everyone....just wanted to stop in and say hello!! Hubby and I are on this cruise with our friends and their kids. This will be our 17th DCL cruise and their 3rd. Hubby is retiring on the 16th (the day we leave for Florida) so this is a great way to start his retirement!!

We surprised our kids on Christmas morning with the Maiden Voyage of the Disney Magic. We surprised them by getting t-shirts and wrapping them along with a certificate I made up on the computer. The only shirts they had at the DCL preview center at WDW were XL so they were all too large for the kids but they didn't care. They were just excited to be going on the cruise.

Here is a pic of them back on Christmas morning in 1997 and the following pic is a more recent pic on the Wonder.

Our friends are doing the dolphin excursion at Atlantis and we were going to do the Aquadventure excursion at Atlantis....but we have not made any decision yet.

Susan...your offer sounds intriguing....I will be thinking about it!!

Anyway, for everyone who this will be their first DCL cruise you will love it!!! I get just as excited going back for #18 as I did going on #1.

Hi everyone! Only 36 more days to go!!!! I just checked online to see if DCL had posted our room assignments and they had! We don't have the same room for both cruises, but that is OK with me. We are in a cat 10 on deck 2 for this cruise and move to a cat 11 on deck 6 for the 3 day after.

My only worry is that I am such a creature of habbit and I might keep trying to get into the cabin on deck 2 instead of our new one.

I hope everyone is enjoying this busy time and not too stressed out! The kids are out of school in one more week, so I have to have this surprise ready before then.

We need to have a finalized list of room numbers and days so we know where everyone is. Are you all ok with picking which days you want to deliever so we can be sure that we are able to give something everyday (my kids think it is Tinker Bell leaving presents every day)?

I don't think we have a time or place yet, but I recommend the Promenade Lounge (Deck 3 AFT) at 2:30-3:00. Do we have any contingency plans if somebody changes rooms at the last minute -- such as an upgrade when they check in at the Port?

Personally, I would rather not have assigned days to deliver FE gifts. Most people will deliver on Sun, Mon & Tue nights because Wed nights get busy with "Till We Meet Again" and packing to have bags in the hallway ontime. I actually plan to make one delivery on Sunday night and another one on Monday night.
