Jan. 22- 29 , 2011 Western Caribean Cruise on the Disney Magic!!!

My kids are pretty flexible with travelling, too (they have to be if Mommy wants to see Wishes or Illuminations, lol). It is extremely rare for me to be able to get the kids to lay down in the middle of the day, so no naps for them. My husband is another story - no problem napping for him. I guess we finished dinner sometime between 9:30 and 10:00 and then most nights we picked the kids up and went back to the room. This year I want to do some adult stuff though, since we have friends with us.

Pirate night the deck was very crowded, but Jason and I got a spot on deck 10 overlooking the pool area from the middle (if that makes sense). We may not have gotten up there right away after picking up the kids, though because Jake gave us a hard time about going to the party and Doug took him back to the room. And then I stopped to take pics of the buffet too, so that took a few minutes extra. We had a good view of the party and the fireworks, it was just a little packed where we were. After the show the crowd thinned out a bit and we were able to get some seats on Deck 9 to watch the POC movie (one of my personal favs) until I decided it was time to take Jason back to the room. So, as long as you can get the kids quickly and make your way up to the party, I think you will be okay.

YEY on the pirate stuff everyone!!! That's one thing I do have together, is the kids pirate night stuff.
Hoping to get some cheap after christmas dresses for semi formal night.
And hoping for a good sale at Disney to get some authentic disney parks princess costumes for formal night for the girls... I keep checking. LOL

We can make our reservations on Monday! I am guessing you can start making them at midnight. Does anyone know what time zone they use to determine when midnight is? I am guessing Eastern but am not sure.

oh Chrisse hope all this Disney chatter helps the migraine go away! I found a pirate costume for DS this week since they were practically giving them away. Haven't had a chance to try it on him yet as i made the mistake of also buying a scooby doo costume at the same time and that all he cares about now. He doesn't even know who scooby doo is just loved the costume.

Noticed today the dollar is at par so hopefully that keeps up

ya sadly it wasn't all that long ago sadly when the dollar was that bad. i can remember a few trips where it hurt to go to the bank to exchange money but this time it is looking pretty good.

I went from booking only DCL tours/excursions to only needing to book at Grand Cayman....lol. Guess we will see what I can get there!

Have spent at least 10 hours in the last week or so just on the phone with verizon - they are driving me crazy. I thought we'd book just one DCL excursion - on Grand Cayman, but now I've completely changed my mind seeing that we can get double the tour time for less money by just booking something through Captain Marvin's. I'm very excited to get on at midnight and try to get Palo though! The time change actually will make it HARDER though, not easier, because to our bodies here on the East Coast, it will seem like 1 am instead of midnight. Oh well - it's worth it if it works!

Has anyone here done Stingray City with younger kids? I just want to make sure DS6 and DD3 will have fun with it even if they can't go in the deeper water parts and have to stay on the boat..

oh and one more thing - I *think* our cruise is the least sold out of all the January cruises. I keep playing around with the reservations page and it appears as though for our cruise it is only the verandah rooms that are all booked (no doubt from the KSF offer) but on the other ones, a lot of the rooms are fully booked. In some cases it looks like for a family of 4 or 5, only Concierge level rooms are left...

I think this is a good thing. Less crowds! We shall see!

lol! Thanks for clarifying to my tired brain! That's funny, and also kinda sweet that your DH has a DIS account!! My DH enjoys Disney as much as the next person but when it comes to planning and researching or even THINKING about a trip ahead of time, it is 110% me!! I think if he shows up, the kids are reasonably well-behaved, there are reasonably clean clothes in his suitcase and a reasonably cold beer appears once a day, he'll be happy!

I was wondering that too about the stingray tour. I don't want my girls to be too afraid to even go into the water.

If you could see my notebook you would see how many times I have changed out excursion plans too...lol. How can you decide? Honestly! I ended up overruling the family on a previously decided excursion to book Nachi Cocom and now they are all excited about that. Key West we were just going to walk around but after some very good advice we booked a trolley tour with on/off privlidges. Castaway Cay we were starting with Stingray Rays, then to Parasailing, now we are just going to play it by ear. That leaves Grand Cayman.... I have our "new" top 3 and that could very well change again... Good thing I have to book tonight and once it is booked... I won't even LOOK at another excursion site...lol

Happy booking tongiht everyone that is staying up late to book! From what I saw last night, I may have to wait till midnight my time anyways! I checked the site to see when the days roll over and they still made me wait till midnight my time which will leave me booking hours after everyone else. So much for Palo rezzies
