I was torn about this on our last cruise too. The kids were 6 & 8 at the time, and I think it worked out well. If they were hungry we could get them a snack late afternoon or before we headed to the evening show, so the late dinner didn't seem to bother them too much. I loved the dine and play option since it gave us some adult time after they headed to the clubs. It didn't bother me if they had to sleep in a little bit the next day since we weren't on such a strict schedule. Being able to see the show early is good too - before the kids get too tired to be fussy. So, we willingly signed up for late dining this time around.
Thanks so much!! That makes me feel so much better about keeping it the way it is. I'll have a 7,8 and 4 yr old...they're all pretty flexible and used to traveling and unusual schedules.
Did you find you had to give the kids a nap during the day and what time would you normally finish dinner?
Oh, and what did you do for pirate night? Was it a problem getting a good spot for the kids to see with the late seating?
thanks again!!
