Jan. 22- 29 , 2011 Western Caribean Cruise on the Disney Magic!!!

Thats not weird at all. We are going only because our kids are older and will probably be hanging out with new friends more than anything else. This is all about what makes them happy but we figured since they will probably want to be in the clubs, we can take advantage of a few hours alone.

not weird.........AS EVERY ONE should vacation as they see fit....I just see fit to spend as much time as i can in palo.....yes the food is great every where,but the food is awesome in palo and for us not soo much about the food but the ambiance, and the sirenity.....(no kids) very quiet. Our kids are older too, but since it is likley one of our last DISNEY cruises we want to take full advantage of PALO!!!!

I suppose there is no rhyme or reason to free upgrades but it was kinda exciting to me (already 5 people in a CAT 4 with the KSF) to see that there were a bunch of concierge cabins still open. I was thinking - hey DCL- we are very happy with the room we picked but if you really, really need it for someone else, we'd be willing to *sacrifice* and move to a suite for free. LOL! Wishful thinking, eh?

I will check again in a few days to see if the open rooms change a lot after this PIF date..

A FREE UP GRADE would be nice but we are willing to pay for an upgrade when we get to port or may even call like 3 days before we leave to see about upgrading.....we are in a balconey room right now but would like to upgrade to a suite......But was hoping for a good deal!!!

Somebody stop me!! I'm drinking cafeinated tea and trying to stay up on the computer til midnight but all I'm doing is buying stuff! Anyone else love slickdeals.net? It's my little addiction...and I love deals and online buying in general, so the two combined is dangerous. lol.

I got brunch! It looked like 10:30 on day 6 was available but that kept giving me an error. I chose Key West day at 10 am and that worked fine. I know the first day is not ideal but earlier is better for us because we don't want DS in the clubs at lunch time due to his allergy. So I'm happy! Hope everyone else gets what they want too!

KEY WEST day is awesome day to do brunch because you get a great brunch before heading out into Key West and dont rally have to worry about being hungry for A LONG WHILE!!!!! and you dont get into key wet til after brunch just have your clothes ready to change into for key west day ready before you leave for brunch then you can change and be on your way!
We have that day for brunch and pretty sure a couple of others do to!!!

I think we got brunch too...but not exactly sure because when I went into my cruise plans it had the reservation but then said unconfirmed beside it..not sure why?

If we did get it...brunch will be on Day 6 at 11am for us!

KAJ........You gotta go back to your reservatiosn area and find the confirm button.........they shoudl have redirected you back to this page to confirm your selection but you should be able to do it now!!!!! MAYBE

I got everything booked last night/early this morning, but I made a "rookie" mistake. I was so fixated on Palo dinner on the night we wanted it - and our excursion in Grand Cayman - that I didn't book brunch. I should say that by the time I thought of brunch - only one was left and didn't work for us. Oh well - maybe next time!

It's another Monday - and another day closer to our cruise. Have a great week!!!

YOU can always try for palo brunch once you egt on board they save several slots for once on board

Glad you all got what you wanted or close enough! We are going to brunch on day 3 and dinner on day 6. Better bring the elastic waistband pants.

Well, the time change did me in! I fell asleep on the couch. AH!! I couldn't say awake. Brunches gone... oh, well, I will keep checking or check right away on board. I also wouldn't mind the Key West day.
I did do our online check in, kids registration and booked the 2 excursions we're doing through DCL.

Has anyone done the jetski one at CC before? Do you get any time to really floor it?? LOL

LOVE slickdeals, especially this time of year!

Besides tea with Alice is there anything else to sign up for right away?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think if you are interested in any of the liquor tastings you sign up for that as well.
Definitely go the first day and see about brunch. I have heard that is is very possible to still get a ressie. Good luck!

An FE is a mailbox of sorts....used to collect gifts given by people fom our group. There is a fish just outside everyones door and it is used for employees to put mail and flyer etc.....BUT we used to to hang something on to collect the gifts......THUS Fish Extender...........

The gifts do not have to be any thing large.....gum candy lick and stick tatoos, you name it you can give it ....You can look up info about them too on the search you will get lots of answers...........I will put up some pics of my externder and others on board next post.Looking forward to the fun!!!

Off cruise topic, Anyone ever done the parks in August? I am considering it with the new military deal and we'll already be down there at the beach. I am leary because we did a day trip to sea world this year in august when we were down there and it was hot as hades and we all just wanted to jump in the tanks with the animals. We ended up leaving earlier than we had planned. But am trying to convince myself if we stay at the Poly and have the monorail and the pool close by for midday it may not be so bad. LOL Convincing DH may be a whole different story.. all we kept saying at Sea World that day.. is how we would NEVER plan an august Disney trip . . . oops!

I was just researching the breakfast... seems they changed it to a show style (I picture Ohana) instead of a table visit thing, but then I also read they changed it back... so asked on the main board, hoping someone who just went in the last month will know!

What time are you going on the jet ski's? We picked 12:00, figure time to warm up a bit and then we can grab the kids for lunch right after.

Ok, ladies and gentlemen... I have an odd question for you...

Do we take towels off the ship for water excursions? For example, Nachi Cocom.. do they supply towels or do I need to bring from the ship? Do I need to bring them from home? Sorry for the ignorance but I am lost!

I read something in Nachi Cocom's info that said you can bring your own towel or rent one from them.

Okay, I was excited before, but now I'm just beside myself. We made our final payment on Tuesday, we can start booking stuff on Monday, and I'm going to start packing this weekend. My husband thinks I'm nuts, but I'm not going to be wearing my summer clothes again until the trip, so they might as well be packed instead of taking up room in my closet.

I have a question to ask those of you who have been on the Magic before. I'm not sure if you'll have the answer, but I'll never know if I don't ask right? My husband is a BIG hockey fan, and we're sailing during hockey season. Does the sports bar show hockey games, or have the ability to show hockey games? I've been told there are only two games we might potentially miss, and that it's not a big deal, but I wanted to find out if there was at least an option for him to watch should he want to.

Still here! Work is just getting in the way of my personal life here... We just started interview season for our residency program last week so Tuesday - Thursdays are totally taken up with that. One of those things were you get started on some work and then you have to go shuffle people to their interviews, tours & other junk. And just try to find time to post! Honestly, don't they realize I have an on-line life here??? Glad to be back online and only 2.5 months to go!!

Congratulations to everyone who got what they wanted! I was very lucky and even got the times and days I wanted for Brunch and Dinner at Palo. I even got the one excursion I wanted from DCL.

I am hoping for an upgrade but I doubt I will get one since I had my room picked since I booked over 6 months ago. The only way I could justify upgrading to a suite is if it was increadibly cheap. I am already stretching the budget.

Booking last night for me worked out beautifully! It was 10pm my time and I could get everything I wanted! Was in bed by 10:30pm and then was so excited about getting everything I couldnt sleep....lol.
Palo Brunch: Day 6 11:30am (I see we have a few people in around that time!)
Palo Dinner: Day 4 6:00 pm (time to eat and still make sure Brooke has no issue with dinner!)
Even got our massage and rasul booked for times I am happy with!

The one and only excursion I had to book through DCL had a time that worked out perfectly for me! The kids are very happy we got this one!

Glad to see everyone so excited! Sure feels closer now that we have our excursions, spa and Palo bookings done!

I thought it was 11 but maybe it is 12.......as was our thinking of getting in whle warm as possible....but our kids are going.......will be me and Ds on one and Dh and DD on the other.......thought i would look a bit odd with 2 guys on one so we split up that way.

I hope it is warm so that a nice one piece bathing suit will be satisfactory BUT if not i am thinking i am going to wear black hald leggings under my bathing suit....it may look queer but i dont want to be cold....I would be miserable.......I may even look for a black water proof thinner type jacket (just in case)
