So, after hemming and hawing about the price, I finally decided to go to a dress shop and order that pretty blue dress I mentioned earlier in my PJ--- you know, the one that looks like what Cinderella would wear if she were frolicking in a valley with some deer and some blue jays? My grammy told me she would buy it for me as a birthday present! (My birthday isn't until September 22, but we're a think-ahead kind of family.)
I ordered the dress today, but the people there were MEAN to me!!!!

First, I wandered around the store just looking at pretty bridal things (I'm a sucker for shiny objects, what can I say?) but no one said a SINGLE thing to me--- not even a "hi!" So, I went up to the counter, and told them I was a bride, but I wanted to buy a bridesmaid dress. Well, this did not seem to compute and I had to remind them I was not a bridesmaid about three times.
When someone finally decided to help me, the FIRST thing she said to me was "Oh, good, Alfred Angelo doesn't charge extra for bigger sizes." I knew that, and it's nice, to know, but I definitely think she could have been a bit nicer about it, ykwim? And then she said to me, in a rather... judgmental? tone I would say, "Did you have ANY luck with ANY sizes?" Like I am a hippopotamus or something and nothing could possibly EVER fit! And then she measured me and she told me I would need a size bigger than the one I tried on in MA when I went dress shopping with my girls--- and that one was HUGE on me!!! I ended up ordering the MA size, but I know it's going to be too big; but she kind of scared me into thinking nothing is ever going to fit me ever again.
And THEN she told me the dress was going to cost $185. Now, I'm kind of... quiet and I don't stand up for myself, but I am also CHEAP, and I told her flat out that Alfred Angelo charges $145 for the dress. I talked her down by about $20 with that, and I ended up paying $157 with tax.
I don't know, maybe I'm just sensitive, but I left the store feeling pretty crappy about myself, and now she made me paranoid that my wedding dress isn't going to fit when it comes in!!!

The one I tried on when I bought the dress was a size smaller than the one I ordered, and that one fit (it was tight, but it fit) so I really shouldn't worry, but she was just MEAN! Okay. Rant over, somewhat.
Speaking of wedding dresses, mine is in! They're going to ship it to me in a few days, and so now I have to store it in my teeny tiny apartment for a few months. Any suggestions? My plan is to keep it underneath the bed in a fabric storage container and completely block it off from that darling dog of mine. Does that sound good?
I also found a PERFECT dress for my bridal shower... but it's $80. But let me find a picture...
It's actually SUPER-flattering and I stood in the fitting room and twirled for about 5 minutes. What are your thoughts?
I also think I want to buy these to change into during the dessert party and probably wear out a few times to dinner during the honeymoon. Do you think they're worth $30 though? (On sale from $45--- from Aldo)
Okay, that's it. Sorry for the rant, I just needed to get that out!!!
