Jackie and Chris's Wishes Wedding 1/6/12: SBP/Attic/SCP 5/11 Final Post- PJ Finished

Love the new ribbon pomenders. What size syrofoam balls did you use? I've got one I think it's a 6inch ball that I also used for my tulle pomender and I'm going to test that one out. I'm making something similar for my bridal shower centerpieces. Thanks!!

Thank you! I'm using 5 inch balls, but I think it would work just as well with 6in, or even 4in. I cut the dowel rods to 10 inches each. HTH!--- and I can't wait to see the tulle ones!

Awesome bags!!!
Also, LOVE the new centerpieces!! I love all the different ribbons you are using!!! Can't wait to see the Ariel one!! :yay:

Thanks on both accounts! :) I think I'm going to do the twelfth one in an Up theme, and use the colors from the balloons!

Fingers crossed for your job interview! :goodvibes

And I love the new centerpieces, they came out great! Those bandanas you found at Michael's are really cute... I'm not sure what you would do with them either, but I'm sure you can come up with something! For groomsmen gifts I let DF decide, and showed him some websites and stuff, and we ended up going with engraved flasks. Maybe something else small as well, but that's the plan for now.

I LOVE the centerpieces and the bags!!!!!! I want the black one!!!!!!! Good luck with the job interview!

I wanted to ask you because I noticed in the post in my PJ you mentioned that you were going to use your own ipod set up, are we able to do this? DF has a really good one and I wouldn't mind using it and we could save some $$$.

I want to see pics of the dresses you bought!

Thank you!!! :) And that's the thing--- DF doesn't really drink, and one of his men is a recovering alcoholic, so no flasks/other alcohol stuff will work, and none of them golf! And whenever I look through those wedding magazines, it's all booze and golf. :lmao: But, you're right, I'm going to do what you did, and let my DF handle it. I've done enough!!! :)

Thanks!!! And yes, you are able to use your own ipod setup--- Disney won't set it up (of course, they never set anything up!), but you can certainly bring it and have someone set it up for you. HTH!

Haha yeah, that would be a problem! One of DF's groomsmen is his brother, who is only 16, but we went with the flasks anyway and figured it would just be a fun keepsake... only to use when he's older!! ;) Other things we considered were pocket knives and pocket watches, but again, I feel like a lot of the options for groomsmen gifts are pretty lame!

Hey Jackie,

I really love how all of your centerpieces are coming out! You are veryyyy patient. I don't have any ideas for the last one, so no help with that- but I am sure you will think of something! :)

Good luck with the interviews, don't give up... something will come along.

Now, about you bm gifts, I love the bags! & as a huggggeeeeee Pandora fan, I wanted to let you know that they WILL be having the free bracelet promotion soon. There is one in September which they offer the free lobster clasp bracelet with a $75 dollar purchase (you can also upgrade to the barrel clasp if you prefer) & then they have the string bracelet thing promotion in July, that one you get if you spend $50.00! HTH. I think the promotions are supposed to be the same everywhere!!

Giselle, thank you SO MUCH for this!!!! You just saved me $50!!! I'm a huge Pandora fan too (I'm on my second bracelet), but I've only been collecting for about 10 months, so I'm still a newb with the promos. Thanks again!!!

You are very welcome!
I am pretty much a newbie too. I started collecting in October (so about 8 months for me) for our anniversary, DF gave me the silver bracelet with the gold clasp with the I love you block? The one with the gold heart? I have been obsessed ever since!!! All I asked for Christmas was charms, & then a got a few others in between for Valentine's day & little splurges. I started a new bracelet in March when they had their last free bracelet promotion (how could I resist?) & got 11 charms for my birthday 2 weeks ago... so now I am missing about 3 charms to finish my second. My first is about half way through but I have designated that my "wedding" bracelet. All charms are hearts, and I plan to add the wedding cake, rings, the together forever one & engrave our wedding date & then the wedding bell with the pearl. I am getting married in June, so it is actually the June stone too! :lmao: Sorry about rambling on your page, but I really love Pandora!!!

eeek no I'm a HUGE pandora geek too! (Although, I am pretty jealous of your two tones!!!) My DF actually bought me the "I love you" one for my birthday last year--- and today I got the "heart of gold" one for our anniversary! (It's really cute--- it has three gold hearts?) But I LOVE the idea of the wedding bracelet! I think you should do some hunting and put the fairy tale charms on there too--- like the princess and the pea charm, and the ugly duckling charm that wasn't released in the U.S.A.!

Okay, enough pandora, back to wedding stuff--- but I love it too!!!!! :cool1:

Hey I just wanted to let you know that today I went to an Alfred Angelo store and I tried on the blue dress. The lady told me that if I wanted it I needed to order it before July 3rd because it is going to be discontinued. I wanted to let you know so you could order it before its gone.

GAH!!! Thank you SO much for this!!! <3

Hello all! I do have a life update, but I wanted to update on the wedding stuff first. I did two more centerpieces, and now I only have 3 left to do! (Thank goodness... they are kind of fun to make, but I feel like I've been doing these forever...)

This one is, of course, inspired by the Mouse!

And this is my Cinderella one! I think it's soft and pretty, no?

I also mentioned that I bought a couple more dresses for the honeymoon. I am on a quest to wear dresses (with leggings underneath, most likely) for most of the honeymoon in an attempt to look presentable instead of like a scrub. I figure these and some three quarter length sleeved cardigans will be best for January in Florida, right? Any other suggestions as to what I should look for? (I'm shopping early so I can get the best deals because I am thrifty.)

I got this one at TJ Maxx for $10, and it will be great for an Animal Kingdom day.

And I got this one at a designer consignment sale for $15--- it's SO pretty and flowy in person.

Oh, and this weekend, I picked up this for DF at David's Bridal--- again, also on sale for $10...

Very classy, no???

I am also extremely excited and nervous because my grandparents can book the first part of our stay on Saturday! We're really hoping for myself and DF, the grandparents, my dad, and my aunt, uncle, and little cousin to get into the Boardwalk Villas, so fingers crossed for us. (This will also save me a lot on transportation costs.) I will definitely be updating on Saturday once I find out where we're staying--- it's so exciting to be able to find out where I'll be sleeping the night of my wedding.

Oh, speaking of rooms, DFTW emailed me my room block contact guy--- I didn't even have to ask! I know it's not that interesting, but I was pretty excited when I got that email.

As for non-wedding stuff, it's been an eventful few days for DF and me (which is weird, because we're usually pretty low key.) We had his birthday and our 6 year anniversary (YAY!) and then his mom and sister came to visit---- and I survived! While his mom did say a few things that ticked me off, and both of them need to eat more (seriously, who goes out to eat and gets an appetizer-sized wedge salad for dinner????), his mom mostly didn't say much to me because she's quiet anyway. DF also FINALLY talked to her about wedding stuff, and she said she would pay for the dessert party. However, Chris also didn't ask her for a set number, so he'll probably have her pay for a few other things off of the BEO once we get it. I also think I might be adding photography to the DP... you know... just because. :rolleyes1:

Okay, I think that's it for now! I'm sure I forgot a million things though--- have a good summer day, disbrides :)

I LOVE your centerpieces! I want them to put around my house.

I like your dresses, but I would also make sure to pack warmer clothes too. The weather here is iffy; it can be hot or freezing in Jan.

dave wants a tuxedo t-shirt, lol. i'm afraid to get him one because he'll wear it all the time :sad2: i got him a perry the platypus shirt as a joke and he wears it everywhere. boys are so silly. i like the dresses you got :) very pretty! you should def add photography to the dessert party. everyone that didn't always puts that in the "wish i did" section. so you should go for it!!

Nice job on the centerpieces! I really like the Cinderella one, you're right, it does have a nice, soft look to it.

And your dresses are cute! I'm also going to try and wear dresses or skirts for most of the honeymoon - even though it's Disney, well, it's my honeymoon! What kind of shoes are you planning to wear with the dresses? I've been trying to find sandals that are cute but also comfy and go well with a dress, but I'm not having much luck...

And congrats on the 6 year anniversary! It's also wonderful that your future MIL will pay for a dessert party :)

Those centerpieces are fantastic!!!! I wish I was crafty like you!!

Love the centerpieces!! They all are looking great!!
I like your dresses too :)
If I got that shirt for Brian he would wear it 24/7. He bought a shirt from a gas station (yes a gas station) that has an alligator on it and says, "Louisiana Yard Dog" and he wears it ALL THE TIME. Now that's classy. I think he does it just to annoy me. :rolleyes1
Definately add photography to the DP. Those always come out so pretty!!!

haha I want to put them around my house too! I have them safe in a bin. And, no worries, I will definitely be bringing some jeans and cardigans too, but I'm thinking optimistically. Regardless, in January it won't get warmer than 25 degrees in Wisconsin, so anything is going to feel hot!

Oh, I bought Chris a Perry t-shirt too (at Walmart... $7... very classy). He LOVES it. Granted, Chris still thinks he's 15 years old and wears Super Mario brothers t-shirts. (But can I judge? I wear my WDW gear all the time and carry around my Disney dooney like it's my baby.)

You know, I meant to ask about that--- I haven't figured out shoes yet! Usually I just wear flip flops, so I might just get some new Teva's in different colors? (They're the only flip flops that don't hurt my feet in the park.) I was also considering investing in one soles though--- have you heard of them? (www.onesole.com) I've heard they're super comfy and are PERFECT for travelling, but I'd need to try them on first.

Oh my gosh, Kristi, you made me burst into laughter. I have DF's new shirt hidden in my closet and I threatened pain of death if he wore it before January!

I hadn't heard of those - they look cute, but I agree I would definitely want to try them on first! I've never owned any Teva's - I just looked on their website and it seems like they have a lot of them. Any type you recommend in particular? I usually wear flip flops too but I usually end up with blisters so I'm trying to find ones that won't do that...
