Accessible Minnie-van with a scooter?

How far ahead do you call to reserve it? We're planning to eat at Jiko for our upcoming trip, and unsure of how to get back to our resort. Not sure we want to take 2 different buses (take a bus to one spot, then transfer to an OKW bus) and since I'll have an ECV, Ubering is doubtful. And since I've never used a Minnie Van, what's the fee? Is gratuity expected?

The accessible Minnie van will appear in the Lyft app with the approx charge. You can "practice" with it in advance of your dinner to get an idea of the cost. (Look but don't actually book.)
It is more expensive but we thought it was well worth it.

When you finish at Jiko go up to the lobby. Open the Lyft app and look for the accessible Minnie van. Book, then head outside when the van is about 5 minutes out.
I always tip in the Lyft app.

We love the accessible MVs! We’ve used them many times. Unfortunately the most important thing when calling one is have bus backup. There are only a couple running at a time and if they’re booked up for a couple rides you won’t be able to book one. Sometimes they arrive in a few mins, sometimes they’re just under 20 mins out. Sometimes it can take 10-20 mins just to get assigned one or find out they can’t find one for you. You already know how to take a bus back if necessary so you’re covered here. I’d start looking around the time you are settling your check.

Tipping is neither required nor expected but it is allowed. Originally it was not allowed as the drivers are salaried Disney employees with benefits and Disney felt that made this an all inclusive service but so many guests insisted on tipping Disney relented. Do as you wish in this area.

Fwiw my tipping choices:
Accessible MV: 10% as the driver does physical work to get the chair hooked in safely

Normal MV: no tip, I feel the high cost is compensation enough and excellent service is part of that charge. Once I start traveling with anyone needing car seats I’ll tip for the extra physical work that takes.

Normal Lyft: tip 15-20% as normal rideshare drivers are not salaried with benefits

@Simba's Mom timing is everything. I used an accessible Minnie van last December from BoardWalk Inn to Saratoga Springs after dinner at The Cake Bake Shop. I waited 45 minutes for one because it coincided with park closings.

On July 4, we needed an accessible Minnie Van to take us from BLT to BCV. This was in the morning as we were transferring hotels. It only took 20 minutes for it to come, and it was around 10 AM. We travel with 2 ECV’s.

We used the accessible MV when we were at OKW and what was as nice is that they came and picked us up right at our room/bldg. we took it one morning for an 8:00a ADR at Kona Cafe—it took over 30 min from the time I booked. So definitely start looking for one well before you have to be somewhere.

Be warned that if there is bad weather, you may never get an accessible minnie van. Had that happen during my last trip. Other than that, they are great.

Mears HA taxis are generally less expensive THEN MV. They only fit 1 ECV.

I like that-"less expensive". I'm really not impressed enough to pay the extra money for the (although cute) pink polka dots. How do we get one of those? There's just DH and myself, and I'm the only ECV

Call or use the Mears app. It's the same price as a regular taxi.

At the TTC. Only WDW buses and Minnie Vans are allowed at the MK bus drop-off.

Oh, that is new and nice, it used to be that you had to call and that could get time consuming if you had to wait on hold.
