Jackie and Chris's Wishes Wedding 1/6/12: SBP/Attic/SCP 5/11 Final Post- PJ Finished

dave wants a tuxedo t-shirt, lol. i'm afraid to get him one because he'll wear it all the time :sad2: i got him a perry the platypus shirt as a joke and he wears it everywhere. boys are so silly. i like the dresses you got :) very pretty! you should def add photography to the dessert party. everyone that didn't always puts that in the "wish i did" section. so you should go for it!!

I am toying with the idea of a photographer at our DP...however, the DP is a surprise to everyone, including DF, and we won't be in our wedding clothes. I am not sure that $350 is worth it if I'm not in my wedding dress.... :confused3

I am in love with all of your centerpieces!!! :lovestruc

I just wanted to post--- we could finally book our DVC reservations today for our wedding!!!! We're ALL staying at the Beach Club Villas! Chris and I are staying the 4th, 5th, and 6th, and my grandparents, dad, and aunt/uncle/cousin are staying the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th. So we now have 15 nights for our room block!

I'm slightly disappointed we couldn't get into the Boardwalk (just for the convenience factor!), but I've always wanted to say at the Beach Club, and I do think, overall, it's prettier than the Boardwalk--- and, of course, STORMALONG BAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I just have to wait until the 8th so we can book our resort for our honeymoon--- fingers crossed for MK view availability at BLT!

:cool1::dance3::woohoo: Hooray! that's so exciting. I love the atmosphere over at the Beach/Yacht Club. And how awesome is it that you've already racked up 15 room nights! I bet that's a relief!

So exciting, congrats! The pictures of the beach club villas look so beautiful, and everyone raves about them! I'm sure it will be great. Hearing about all the different places where people stay really makes me want to try every resort!

It is SUCH a relief! I'm only 10 nights away from that free night at the GF--- and, after the honeymoon is booked, only 7 nights away! :) :)

Awesome!!!! You're going to love it!!!!!!!

!!! Thanks!

Same here! I think we're going to stay at at least 3 different hotels on our honeymoon--- a bit of a pain, but I'm really excited to do it!

yay for bcv!! we're staying there in a studio in november! i'm excited for the location and storm a long bay!!! woooo hooo!! good luck with blt!!

I know I already replied in your thread, but I like replying. :lmao: I am SO excited for the lazy river, ohmigosh.

So I don't have an update. But tomorrow we book the honeymoon!!!!! I am SO excited/nervous. I hope I don't wake up at 5am again....

So we booked the honeymoon this morning and......

WE GOT BAY LAKE TOWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am seriously SO excited! I am on Wedding Cloud Nine! We didn't get Magic Kingdom view, but I pretty much expected that--- I know it's difficult to get, and I know that the week we're going is a busy DVC week because points are so low. But, we do have a lake view, and we are waitlisted for MK view! I am still very, very happy!!! We're going to be staying at the Beach Club, Grand Floridian, and Bay Lake, and we always just stay at Pop! I am going to be SO spoiled by the end of this trip!

AND now we have twenty two nights for our room block! Because I'm having such a small wedding, we only have to have 23 nights, so we're almost there--- and I'm only 3 nights away from my free night at the GF!

Also--- I finally finished my centerpieces! I still need to think of a better way to get the ribbon to stay on the stick (I'm going to try some double sided tape this weekend), and I still haven't figured out how I am going to get them set up (I don't know if Disney will do it for me?), but the hard part is done! Here is the last three:

This is another one of those wordy ones--- it says "Perfect Pair." It's kind of cheesy, but I like the colors.

This is my little mermaid one--- I really like this one too! I love the green and purple.

And this is my Up inspired one. I know it's a bit of a stretch, but can you KIND of see it? (Just humor me, okay? :))

Okay, I'm off to spend my day in a Bay Lake Tower inspired dreamy state. Have a good day, girls!

Yay for centerpieces being done, YAAAAAYYYY for honeymoon being booked! And you got such an awesome resort! I hope they can work some magic to get you an MK view! :wizard: That would be wonderful!! Cant wait to read more! Enjoy your day on wedding cloud 9! :cutie:

Congrats on Bay Lake Tower!! I've never stayed at a deluxe so I would feel like you!

And your other centerpieces are so pretty - I love The Little Mermaid and the Up ones, I think the thick ribbon looks really nice and gives some variety from the ones that have the thinner ribbon :)

Congrats on booking BLT!!!! I will also be staying there for my honeymoon and Iam so excited!!!! LOVE all of your centerpieces! I see Up in the Up centerpiece.:thumbsup2 Good luck with everything!

Oh! I was going to tell you I bought the blue dress. I didn't want to spend that much money on a dress but I couldn't pass it up, its too pretty.

Little Mermaid and UP, my 2 favorites!! They look great!

And yay for Bay Lake! Congrats!!!

HOORAY FOR BLT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 So happy for you-- :cloud9:

I hope so too! I've been doing research on the dvc board though, and allegedly if you request a north side room, upper level, even numbered room, you have a good shot at a MK view! So I'm going to be very sweet at the check in desk and cross my fingers!

Congrats on Bay Lake Tower!! I've never stayed at a deluxe so I would feel like you!

I know--- my experience with a deluxe is just one night at AKL! I am going to be so spoiled!!! And thank you about the centerpieces. :)

Thanks ladies!!!! <3

So, after hemming and hawing about the price, I finally decided to go to a dress shop and order that pretty blue dress I mentioned earlier in my PJ--- you know, the one that looks like what Cinderella would wear if she were frolicking in a valley with some deer and some blue jays? My grammy told me she would buy it for me as a birthday present! (My birthday isn't until September 22, but we're a think-ahead kind of family.)

I ordered the dress today, but the people there were MEAN to me!!!! :( :( First, I wandered around the store just looking at pretty bridal things (I'm a sucker for shiny objects, what can I say?) but no one said a SINGLE thing to me--- not even a "hi!" So, I went up to the counter, and told them I was a bride, but I wanted to buy a bridesmaid dress. Well, this did not seem to compute and I had to remind them I was not a bridesmaid about three times.

When someone finally decided to help me, the FIRST thing she said to me was "Oh, good, Alfred Angelo doesn't charge extra for bigger sizes." I knew that, and it's nice, to know, but I definitely think she could have been a bit nicer about it, ykwim? And then she said to me, in a rather... judgmental? tone I would say, "Did you have ANY luck with ANY sizes?" Like I am a hippopotamus or something and nothing could possibly EVER fit! And then she measured me and she told me I would need a size bigger than the one I tried on in MA when I went dress shopping with my girls--- and that one was HUGE on me!!! I ended up ordering the MA size, but I know it's going to be too big; but she kind of scared me into thinking nothing is ever going to fit me ever again.

And THEN she told me the dress was going to cost $185. Now, I'm kind of... quiet and I don't stand up for myself, but I am also CHEAP, and I told her flat out that Alfred Angelo charges $145 for the dress. I talked her down by about $20 with that, and I ended up paying $157 with tax.

I don't know, maybe I'm just sensitive, but I left the store feeling pretty crappy about myself, and now she made me paranoid that my wedding dress isn't going to fit when it comes in!!! :( The one I tried on when I bought the dress was a size smaller than the one I ordered, and that one fit (it was tight, but it fit) so I really shouldn't worry, but she was just MEAN! Okay. Rant over, somewhat.

Speaking of wedding dresses, mine is in! They're going to ship it to me in a few days, and so now I have to store it in my teeny tiny apartment for a few months. Any suggestions? My plan is to keep it underneath the bed in a fabric storage container and completely block it off from that darling dog of mine. Does that sound good?

I also found a PERFECT dress for my bridal shower... but it's $80. But let me find a picture...

It's actually SUPER-flattering and I stood in the fitting room and twirled for about 5 minutes. What are your thoughts?

I also think I want to buy these to change into during the dessert party and probably wear out a few times to dinner during the honeymoon. Do you think they're worth $30 though? (On sale from $45--- from Aldo)

Okay, that's it. Sorry for the rant, I just needed to get that out!!!

Ugh, how ridiculous!!! Just be glad you don't have a brain the size of a pea and no good common sense like the girl who waited on you in that store! I'm sure your dress will fit just fine and even if it doesn't that's what seamstresses are for!

And i love the dress for the shower--very cute! And the shoes too!

Ugggh, I'm so sorry you had a horrible saleslady at AA. I'll drop kick her for you...You are just perfect and you have nothing to worry about.
I adore the bridal shower dress, but perhaps find a shawl or bolero for it? (Just thinking of January weather and all...) :lovestruc

So sorry about your experience in that store! You sound a lot like me - I'm so really shy and quiet, and I hate to create waves anywhere, but when it comes to $$ I can be really cheap!! But I'm glad that at least you got the dress at a pretty comparable price. Honestly, if I had your experience with that sales lady I probably would have cried :( So I totally get how you are feeling.

But the dress you posted from your bridal shower is so cute! Where is it from? I love that style with the blue and white color combo. The shoes are definitely pretty, but I'm wondering if you could find something similar for a little less?

And by the way, my pair of Teva's just arrived in the mail! I'm excited to try them out ;)
