IT'S OFFICIAL!!!****OCTOBER 2014****...ROLL CALL!! Join the party!

Ok, so I want to share my pre-planning ideas so far. Staying at beach club
Day1- check in- SWIM dinner at Cape May (Epcot for illuminations)
Day2- MK- Dinner at BOG
Day3- AK dinner at Boma
Day4-BRD ADR at Akershus, hit a few rides in Epcot, SWIM, rest, relax, MNSSHP (if it's on Sundays again this year)
Day5-HS-Lunch at 50'sPrime Time
Day6-EP-Dinner at Biergarten
Day7-MK-Dinner at Ohana
Day8-HS-bfast at H&V Disney jr. Character bfast
Day-9 Open.... But spending our last night in MK if there's no MNSSHP
This obviously is very tentative depending on hours/EMH/Crown cal/MNSSHP
But just wanted to share because my hubby thinks I'm crazy planning details like this this early ;)

I ended up getting touringplans and have moved my days around a bit to accommodate the better crowds. This trip is supposed to be more relaxed and less gogogo, but its hard not to plan/want to do everything!

I'm not worrying about FP+ yet. I haven't read any of the threads about it. Just avoiding it for now. Coming up to our 60 Day out then I'll start checking on it, so much can change between now and then. I also stopped checking for pins as we ended up renting DVC but my fingers are crossed for the rest of you!

Psh! You are in good company with the planning ahead. Cause it's really less planning and more dreaming!! I have a whole spread sheet with dates, dining, must see characters going. My BF always teases me too but he'll be reaping the benefits come October!

Your plans are looking good too! Have you ever eaten at Kona or CaptCooks? I highly recommend stopping by for breakfast and getting the Tonga Toast! Its seriously addicting! :goodvibes

I have had both! :) The Poly is my favorite resort! My dh and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Kona while our DD's were spending time in the Neverland Club! I love Kona! We also ate their for breakfast on departure day and I had the Tonga toast! I agree 100%! We have also had lunch a few times at captain cooks. The Poly is a must stop for me on every trip even if just for dole whip! ;) However, this will be our first time going to Ohana for dinner!

Quick Question: is touring plans worth it? Seems like there is so much stuff out there for free, what does TP offer that sets it above the rest?

Well TP tells you the crowds for each park each day and which is the best & worst parks to visit that day. It also has actual touring and where you pick all the rides/shows/meals you plan to
Do and it tells you what order to do them
In to avoid waits and such...but you won't really need that much in Oct! Also they have an app with the ride wait times and stuff. I found the crowd calendars to be dead on last trip so I thought it was worth it, also we did universal and followed a touring plan there bc we went to both of those parks in 1 day and we did get to do all our must dos with little to no waiting. It's only like $12 a year. So I would say it is worth it, but not really needed if you've found a free crowd calendar by park and you are visiting in oct. But I've not seen a park by park crowd calendar.

I also love your plans! Your doing a lot of ADRs we did last trip and many we have on the list for this one!

Ditto over here with the spreadsheet! I have the same thing with all the character meets and all! Lol! You can never be over planned for Disney! And there's no such thing as too early to start!

Hi, everyone! Count us in for Oct 17 (or possibly 18)-26. Likely at POP, but haven't officially booked yet. We are waiting for AirTran to release their flights, which should be the first week of March. We will definitely be doing MNSSHP again this year, and we will be dressed as the Avengers. Can't wait!!!

Not sure of the schedule yet (there will be at least one day at Universal to do Harry Potter World!), but it looks like October 21 - 30 with a split stay at the Contemporary (21-23) and then offsite to Bonnet Creek. Looking at some good Food & Wine time as well as a MNSSHP!

My husband thinks I'm crazy too. He keeps saying things like, "Just relax and don't worry about it. We can plan later." He just doesn't understand! I WANT to plan now!! :lmao:

Here are our tentative plans:
Saturday - check in (POR) boat to DD, lunch at Earl of Sandwich, dinner at Boatwrights.
Sunday - HS - dinner at Sci-Fi Dine In Theater
Monday - MK - breakfast at Chef Mickey, Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party
Tuesday - Resort morning. Sending the kids on a Pirate's Cruise and relaxing with my husband. In the late afternoon we are going to Epcot for dinner...probably San Angel Inn Restaurante
Wednesday - MK - no TS dining that day
Thursday - Epcot - lunch at Coral Reef, dinner at Chefs de France
Friday - MK - dinner at either Boma, Ohana, or Be Our Guest

We can't decide with dinner for Friday. If we can get a lunch fastpass for Be Our Guest, we will just have lunch there. We went to both lunch and dinner last October, and we really liked both, but lunch was better for us. I don't know if they still are doing the fastpasses, so I'm not quite sure what to do there. We have never been to Boma, but I have read great reviews of it. I loved Ohana, but my husband isn't sold.

Some of that could change when park hours are released. We probably won't change our MK days though. I don't want to waste a day at MK on a party night, so we will probably keep those where they are. Friday is a party night, but since it is our last night, we don't mind leaving the park a little early and packing up that evening.

Happy planning to everyone!!!

We're going October 18-24. This will be me and my husband's second time there. Going with two sisters and a brother-in-law. My eldest sister and her husband have been there 25+ times. Also meeting some cousins from back east who i have not seen in 20 years. It will be so nice. My eldest sister is in the DVC, so she is covering our rooms at the Boardwalk Villas.

Last time we went, i planned for months, put together a binder of all pertinent info. i was all packed a month out. But we should have made reservations at the 50's Prime Time Cafe and the Sci Fi diner. We thought we could just drop by and get in. Nope. So going to be doing more planning this time. i am SO excited!

All booked up at POP this October!! We'll be visiting from the 14th to the 21st!

We'll also be checking out Universal while we're there (2 days there, 5 at Disney parks), but staying at POP the whole time.

This is my first WDW visit, and I couldn't be more excited! My BF has been before, but when he was much younger - so it'll be like a new experience for him as well. My brother and another couple we're friends with also be joining us (also, all newbies!) The other couple has yet to book though - and even though it's months away, I continously bug them that they better hurry up! hehe

Ok, I'm ready to jump in! We are going Octobet 11-15! Right now we are booked at Shades of Green but hoping to change that to on property.

Questions for any experienced October people out there. I can't book an on property hotel until either Disney releases a military discount for 2014-15 (likely end of July, IF they offer it this year) OR I get a bounceback offer during my August trip! I am hoping to stay either BC or CR. Is there any chance of my getting just a regular room (no villa, no BLT, no CL) that late in the game or are they usually booked up by then? It is killing me to wait that long but if I have to pay full prices then...Shades of Green it is! LOL!

On another note, I am beyond excited to see my first October in the World! We are regular August visitors but are taking a long weekend to experience MNSSHP and at least one day of food and wine. YIPPEE!!

Booked for October 17-25. Have an entire spreadsheet which I will not post here but...I can summarize....later.

Highlights? Richard Petty Driving Experience in the middle of the trip. New dining experiences, mostly at Epcot. Park hopping, rope dropping and trying to fit in as much as we can...with scheduled downtime to just .... be there.

My husband is the same way. I've had our schedule "planned" for months, barring any major changes to predicted park hours. Ivy stopped trying to explain the importance (and entertainment!) of all this planning :goodvibes

I'm in full planning mode now-even going to book some ADR's at the 180 day mark (April 22 for me!). I was going to do lunch at BOG, because its cheaper, but did I hear correctly that the dinner experience is better?

We were planning to do a night at MK when its open till 1 or 2 am, so go there for a BOG dinner at about 5 or 6 pm, then set up our FP+ for after dinner and just do whatever other attractions have low waits.

The only other one I am definitely booking is the Sci Fi Dine-In Theater, because my DFi loves sci fi movies, and think the drive-in movie theme is pretty cool.

Any other suggestions? We are normally content to do QS dining but would like to try some sit down restaurants that have a cool theme/experience. I will note I have looked at the menus and prices for all character meals and it does not appeal to us.

Since people are posting their plans so far, here is the first draft of mine :)

October 19th -Arrive at POP from Loew's RPR, probably around 4 or 5 pm. Unsure what we will do that night, either relax at the hotel, go to DTD, or use FP+ for our first taste of a park that evening.

October 20th- MK EMH AM, possibly using FP+ later in the morning/early pm

October 21-DHS EMH AM with FP+ and either lunch or dinner at Sci Fi Drive in theater, DTD in the evening

October 22-probably Busch Gardens today

October 23-EPCOT EMH AM, Typhoon Lagoon for the afternoon, DTD evening

October 24- Shopping at mall/outlet, EPCOT late PM w FP+

October 25-Sleep in a little,Waterpark mid-am to early pm, then MK around 3:00 pm with FP+ to do a few favourites, but we will probably mostly concentrate on parades/character meets/getting scenic pictures

October 26: Sleep in, waterpark afternoon, DHS late pm with FP+

October 27:AK rope drop, waterpark afternoon, late entry to MK with FP+ and BOG dinner

October 28-Depart POP by approx 10:00 am to get to airport on time :(

The bolded items are set in stone, as we want to utilize morning EMH for each park except AK. Everything else is pretty much the right combination, but the days could change. Alot of it is based on park hours/crowd levels from Touring Plans.

The menus for lunch and dinner are slightly different at BOG. I think it is just personal preference. We loved the dinner experience there. And, the Beast is there during dinner only. However, we liked the food selection at lunch better. So for our family...we would rather spend a QS credit there and visit a different TS restaurant.
