If you dont mine answering, what is it?
The issue that could cause surgery (because not all of my medical issues are related and three symptoms are unsolved to date, blood in urine, vertigo and elevated liver function) is a prolapsed bladder. I never drink alcohol, but have chronic headaches. The headaches caused me to take a lot of Excedrin and Tylenol over the years. I am not sure if that is the issue though until the gastoenterologist gives me a dx for the symptom.
He wants me to meet with the urologist about the blood in my urine and have labs repeated before he will do anything though. The gynecologist says a prolapsed bladder would not cause blood in urine or elevated liver function. It does cause a horrible pain in the pit of my stomach/pelvis and difficulty urinating. I have stress and urge incontinence as well, so that combination with the prolapsed bladder stinks.
I also have extreme vertigo, since the birth of my son. My PCP said I had fluid in my ears and an ear infection. She treated the problem with antibiotics, but the vertigo remains. I have to see an Otolaryngologist for that. My hearing has also been bad, because fluid keeps draining from my sinuses into my ear.
When I was pushing DS#2 out, my bladder dropped. For the time being, it is still inside my body (just barely). If it completely falls out, I would have to have surgery to have it placed back in.
The surgery is done in a number of ways, but surgeons usually tie off another organ to gold it into place or do a total hysterectomy to make room. One can cause sterilty and the other will definitely cause it.
I consider all of these minor issues until I get an official dx that makes them sound worse or my bladder comes out completely requiring surgery (hopefully not before I get to have another baby). Breastfeeding prevents the prolapse from improving, because it limits the bodies estrogen production. Estrogen assists in getting things back to normal down there. I am not willing to stop breastfeeding, especially since DS was already a purist before I got the prolapsed bladder dx.
Sorry about the book. That is why I only mentioned medical issues rather than going into at first, because it really is a mouthful. I had a CT scan for the stomach pain. That is when the prolapse was discovered. The good news is the Doctor did not notice anything else that seemed overly bad.
