It was to be a SURPRISE trip, but I blew it May 2012 PTR (New May 9 )

Sounds like a fun first day in Epcot. It does look as if TT will be closed during our trips. What will that mean for the lines at Soarin'? YIKES!

I'm not too happy about the new FP rule coming up! That kind of messes up my plans!

I love shopping for a vacation! I have to admit (and it's really a sad state of affairs), but I honestly go shopping and buy new things for almost every vacation that I go on. I really have a problem. Just don't know what's wrong with me. LOL.

I heard about the new FP policy too. The last I had heard, they were running tests and randomly turning people away to see if people made a stink about it. I guess it means that not enough people pitched a fit. That's because they didn't do it to me! I would have created enough of a fit to account for 10,000 people! Haha.

Next to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot is my favorite too. Back in the day, when it was old school Epcot and I was a wee one, I loved it there! It just brings back good memories.

I say end the night at DHS with a showing of Fantasmic!

Dallas can be around peanuts, but he can't touch them. We have peanut butter in the house, but any time we eat it we make sure we wash the utensils with hot soapy water and use paper plates. He won't even touch the jar even if it has never been opened. I always have an epi pen handy just encase!!

I can't wait to see the pictures of the shopping trip. I have been online shopping and that has been fun.

Your first day sounds good. My favorite park has always been Epcot. I posted some pictures of my first trip and several of them were taken at Epcot. At that time it was just the MK and Epcot parks, DHS opened 3 years later and AK 13 years later.

Your first day at Epcot sounds great, it's my favorite park too! :lovestruc

Haha, no stopping at La Cava? It's helpful to know it doesn't open til noon, right? Ugh, I wish I knew that!

I'm not really thrilled about the new FP rules, but to be honest...Brandon and I were kind of always dorks about going back during our window anyway. We just started going back late on our last 2 trips, and with that, we only did it a few times, so it's not really going to make that much of a difference to us. I feel bad for all the people that plan their days around being allowed to that, though! :scared1:

Your first day sounds GREAT :) It's too bad TT will be down but for us we are taking it as a chance to have time to do the other things in the park that we don't normally take the time for.

The swimsuit sounds SO cute! I can't wait to see it. DD will need to shop for a new swimsuit too and i do too but mine won't be cute. lol just nice and "efficient". lol. I definitely need to get some shopping in but i'm like you - I'd rather shop for or with DD - they have a way more easy time finding stuff that looks good on them - it ALL looks cute!! But I can NEVER find stuff that looks just right on me :confused3

Swim suit sounds adorable. There was a girl at OKW who had a really cute retro suit like that and I loved it. :lovestruc

Great first day, but I hope you DO have time to swing around to the Ditch and get that rita to go! :rotfl:

Yeah for Le Cellier. I made a lunch ADR for Bro & SIL there, but now I wish I had made one for myself. :rotfl:

Vacation shopping is always fun! I need to do some of that myself :)

Your Epcot plans sound fun. Great way to spend your first day back "home" :goodvibes

It sure is:cool1: I have a little shopping to do myself, but I am going to try and hold off until end of April beginning of May...maybe the sales will have started by then;)

Thanks...I can't wait for that first full day!

Darn it! Oh well...maybe we'll do a couple of turns on Spaceship Earth....we do enjoy relaxing on that one!

Me neither! I thought that the days we had lunch ADR's that any FP's we had from the morning we could use after lunch....so much for that idea:headache:

You and Jasmine seem to have to same problem....imustshopitis:rotfl2:

I was picturing that in my head and it brought quite the smile to my face:woohoo:

I think that's exactly what we'll do....it extends the day too!

That's good for him, I wish I was like that! Just smelling it brings on the hives, but if I accidently come in contact with it....not good!
I can't wait to see the pictures of the shopping trip. I have been online shopping and that has been fun.
I am home all day tomorrow so I will get them uploaded then and posted by tomorrow afternoon! I saw some of your purchases, you have done very well!

Maybe after lunch I could talk Jasmine into stopping there:rolleyes1

I always followed the window of time until my girlfriend's hubby who works there told me we could go back anytime after the window opened! I should have always just stuck to the rule:rotfl2:

Your first day sounds GREAT :) It's too bad TT will be down but for us we are taking it as a chance to have time to do the other things in the park that we don't normally take the time for.
You're right and that's a great way to look at it!

I am good for swimsuits, thank goodness, nothing I hate more than shopping for one of those puppies! I agree, I love shopping for/with Jasmine! Everything looks good on them !! While she was in the changeroom, I brought her a couple of items that I found while waiting for her, she bought them all! I told her after all these years, I do know what looks good on her:worship::rotfl2:

We were walking down the mall and she saw it hanging on the wall of the store and next thing I know, she's in the change room!:rotfl2: Of course it wasn't on sale:confused3 But it's her money and she is very good with it so I shouldn't complain...do you think it's all the years I've nagged about saving?;)

I think I will have to Mary Ellen, it just would be a first day in Epcot without a rita that's for sure!

Well that's you, always thinking of others:hug: Maybe the year we all get down there together we can have lunch there:thumbsup2

FLIGHTS ARE BOOKED:cool1:

Yes, I am a little excited about it! I was looking on all four sites to see if the prices had gone down and Delta was showing $555.52 but we would have to stop in Cincinnati and Minneapolis on the way home....I preferred not to do the milk run!

Remember how I have enough visa points to pay for one flight? Well I called the redemption centre and got the sweetest girl ever! I had done some figuring and decided to try one way with Delta to Orlando because the flight times were the best and cheapest fare and then home with Westjet thru Toronto because they had a sale of $178! Unfortunately she couldn't book them that way:sad2:but she was able to get us the exact flights we wanted going and found 2 flights coming home with only the stop in Minneapolis! I was thrilled! I was on my laptop as she was booking and I kept saying that I didn't see the return flight she was talking about and then when it did pop up it was over $750:scared1: I told her I wasn't prepared to pay that for the ticket that I had to purchase and she said sometimes they come up significantly cheaper than what I see it for! She booked the one with the points and then booked the other one and got a price of $526:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:Couldn't go wrong with that!

So here are the details....we depart Wpg on May 19 at 630am and arrive in Minneapolis at 759am. We have two hours in Minneapolis which we will use to grab a Starbucks and something to eat! Then we depart Minneapolis at 10am and arrive in Orlando at 213pm! Once again, I figure by the time we get off the plane, get to ME and get to ASMu, our room should be ready!!

Coming home we leave Orlando at 810am (I know this is super early and we'll be on ME at the crack of dawn, but it works so we grabbed it) arrive in Minneapolis at 1037am at which time we will grab a Starbucks and breakfast (seeing a pattern here:rolleyes1) then depart Minneapolis at 230pm and arrive in Winnipeg at 355pm. Home early enough to start the unpacking and laundry...that is, if I haven't done it while lounging by the pool!

Jasmine is thrilled with these flights! She really doesn't like to fly and frankly neither do I so the less landing and taking off we have to do, the better:rolleyes1 She is not a fan of the "little" planes as she called them and I love them! I love that the flight from Wpg to Minneapolis says its an hour and a half, but actual time in the air is like 50 minutes! I am going to try and stay awake for that leg of the trip and try and sleep on the longer leg for a while!

One more thing to strike of the list.....you know how I love my lists!

It's the best feeling knowing your flights are done. Now you know for sure how you're getting there and back. Let's hope they don't change the times on you. I hate when they do that :headache:

Great plans Queen! I will have to convince Joe to leave on the first so that we can get there and say hi. Our current plans wouldn't have us in any shape to say hi at 5am on the 2nd. I will do my best and keep you updated! Don't worry about tearing up when we do meet...I'll probably do the same!!

Yeah for having your flights booked. It always feels so much better to get THAT out of the way! :cool1:

Yay, flights done! That's always such a relief to get that out of the way. For me, that's the first sign that it's for real, because flights being booked is like "yup, for sure we're going".

I'm glad you were able to get the flights worked out too. I hate stopovers too, so the more you can avoid, the better.

Looks like you got great flights!! :thumbsup2
It's so exciting once the flights are booked because then you know it's really happening!!!

Have a great Sunday!
debbie

Loving your PTR so far! I'm glad you got the flight booked! We are still waiting...patiently...or not so much :goodvibes

:woohoo: For booked flights :woohoo:. I am glad we don't have to fly. I know I would never go if I had to get on a plane to get there.

That's great! And it sounds like you got a really good deal on 'em too! :yay:
Thanks:goodvibes I was very happy with the price!

I hate that too! I've only had it once where Air Canada changed them drastically and I had to beg to get out the night before, stay in Toronto, and catch the first flight out for Orlando the next day! It was for Jasmine's for 12th birthday and I didn't want her spending her whole special day in Pearson Airport:confused3

Oh I hope you can convince him, but I also realize once you have dates booked and a schedule in place how hard that can be! I thought about adding on a day and going home Sunday, but my fear was not getting home and still having to be at work on Monday! In 2010, our flight out of Minneapolis was grounded so we didn't get home until the next day:scared1: I'm so happy that I probably won't be the only one crying!
Yeah for having your flights booked. It always feels so much better to get THAT out of the way! :cool1:
So much better, and the more I watched the news about fuel prices going up, the worse it got!:rolleyes1

I agree, for some people it's having the room booked, but for me, it's definitely the flights!

I wish we could have gotten direct flights but the last one leaves Winnipeg on Apr 28. I could have moved my holidays, but someone at Jasmine's work already had those two weeks, so that was a no go:confused3

Looks like you got great flights!! :thumbsup2

Yes, I am pretty happy with those. I'm not as fussy about what time we get home, but I sure did want to get into Orlando at a half descent time! Gives me a chance to get settled in!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Great! :) It's a good feeling to cross that off your list....AND, girl, I love a list, too! :thumbsup2
Jasmine calls me OCD all the time with my lists:rotfl2: I really do have a list for everything, at home, at work, I have lists!!:thumbsup2
Loving your PTR so far! I'm glad you got the flight booked! We are still waiting...patiently...or not so much :goodvibes
Thank you so much!:goodvibes I will keep my fingers crossed that some great deals come your way!:woohoo:

Are you afraid to fly Dana? You could join mine and Leanne's "scared to fly" club:lmao:
Yay for booking your flights!

Thanks:goodvibes it's a pretty good feeling knowing that's done:yay:
