It was to be a SURPRISE trip, but I blew it May 2012 PTR (New May 9 )

Sounds like the planning is coming right along :)

We too have noticed that airfare this year is up from last year. Your times for flying to Orlando are good but having to take the ME at 5am to fly home does not sound fun!

Raglan Road is a great tradition. Fun start to the visit :thumbsup2

Your plans sound great for the first day, crossing my fingers that the flights come down in price for you!

2:13 sounds like a great arrival time, enough time to get freshened up before your DTD evening.

Can't wait to hear more:goodvibes

Thank you:goodvibes

It's a great time, Westjet is better getting us in at 1pm, however, their fares are thru the roof and I hate going thru Toronto and having to collect our luggage!

I know:sad2: but if we take any other flight that day we have two stops...one in Detroit and one in Minneapolis and then home....either way we figured we'd be exhausted so we grabbed the first flight!

We have always had such a great time there and the food has never disappointment us! We love it!:thumbsup2

Queen, the arrival day plans sound great. Mark and I loved Raglan Road and plan on going back again on our next trip.

I am so happy you guys loved it! Everytime we go, I think of all our wonderful friends who have been there and wish one day we can all be there together!

sounds great, Queen! I love DTD on arrival day too!

Thanks:goodvibes It always amazes me how many new items there are to buy with every trip....they have a great marketing department don't they:woohoo:

Just found your PTR. My best friend Sam and I will be there at the same time as you! May 26-June 1st at Pop Century. We are going to be avoiding DHS on the weekends because we are just not Star Wars fans and from what I hear its CRAZY busy. We went in May 2009 on the exact same dates that we are going this time (Weird, I know, we didn't even realize it until after we booked) The weather was decent. We are from Kansas so the heat wasn't different from what we are used to, but the humidity is much more than we are used to. I'm sure its better than August tho! Anyways, during our last trip it probably rained every afternoon for like 1-2 hours. Honestly it wasn't that bad, we'd shop or go on indoor attractions. Plus, we got the lovely Disney ponchos and roughed it! It actually did work out to our advantage sometimes when it rained because a lot of people would leave the park so once the rain was over lines were much shorter waits. Excited to read more of your PTR, I'm in the middle of mine, too! :goodvibes

You're plans are so exciting!! Wish I was going!! :goodvibes
Don't get too excited for the new airport!! I'm so disappointed in it!:sad1:

Once you go through security it's good because you have a bunch of shops and TGIFridays and nice couches to sit and observe planes etc..

But.... on the pre-security side... it really sucks! All that is there is a Tim Hortons with barely any tables to sit at and there are not many places to sit. It's just a big empty space. It doesn't matter if you plan to go through security right away, but for us we wanted to go for a drink first with the family since I had to be at airport 2 hours early for overseas flight but didn't need to go through security yet and wanted to spend some extra time with family... but there was no where to go!! I really miss the observation deck at the old airport too!! I think the plan of the airport is just to move people through and not hang out too much! Then when we just picked up our daughter from her overseas flight the plane was late and there was no where to sit while we waited - just a few seats by the luggage carrousels AND... the luggage carrousels were broken so we had to wait forever for airport staff to physically bring in all the luggage from all the arriving flights!!!
You're best bet would be to have Jeff just drop you off and not bother to pay for parking and then you and jasmine can go straight through security and enjoy the other side!!
Sorry to be such a Debbie Downer about the airport!!! :scared1:
But if going DW means having to suck it up and go through our airport, then I'm in!!!
It'll be interesting to find out what you think of it!!

Debbie

Love your first day plans! What better way to start a trip than dinner at Raglan Road?! :cloud9: Will you kiss that Irish dancer boy for me? He's just too cute for words :lovestruc

I hope the flight costs come down for you. Flying from Canada is such a joke sometimes! For $650 you could fly to London, England roundtrip (on a good day)

Oh! and I hope you get to see SWW. I'm hoping to catch those storm troopers on the roof at DHS myself. Bubba has invited a bunch of us girls down in June for wedding dress shopping. I'm hoping to sneak in a side trip to DHS as well.

Love your PTRs/TRs Queen :thumbsup2

Raglan Road sounds like a wonderful first day tradition.

Is Tim Horton's coffee really THAT good? Just curious? :confused3

Hope the airfare goes down a little for you! I've been checking Southwest for the last week or so for our trip, and it FINALLY went down a little today, so I just pounced and bought our airfare! It's still more than I want to spend, but it could be worse I guess! :confused3

Your first day sounds great, if we were doing a longer trip, I think we'd probably just relax and go to DTD too! I need to try Raglan Road someday!

Haha, I clean my room too when I get there, I wipe down everything with Clorox wipes (I also do the same on the plane :rolleyes1) and check the mattress for bed bugs...anything I'm missing?

I am hoping that flights go down for you too. I have noticed that the prices have just seemed insane lately. I just don't know what's going on. So far it sounds like you have a good plan down.

I just can't believe you have to pay that much to fly from Canada. I have found flights to Europe for $700 before. It's just ridiculous.

Yay- Raglan Road tradition! Hope your flights come down a bit...they say try flight booking on Tues. or Weds. Maybe the price will be lower tomorrow.

Please head across the border...help our economy...of course, be sure to find good deals only, though!!!

I love the

Sounds like a great plan for the first day! I sure hope those flights come down for you-that's rough.

Hope Jasmine gets her shopping trip, a girl need some new things for a trip you know! ;)

Your first day plans sound really good. RR is on my list of places I want to try, but getting Dale there is almost like pulling teeth without pain killers........:lmao:. I am still hoping we get down there early on June 1st so we can meet up!!!

Maybe we'll run into each other! We get very hot summers here, but the humidity in Florida is worse than what we see, although, the past few summers it's gotten up there!

We found the same thing when TS Faye hit a few summers ago....the parks were empty which meant for great times to get on the rides!

I will pop over and have a read of your plans...thanks for reading along!:goodvibes

I'm one of those people who have to get there and get right through security so I know I'm ready to board....weird I know:rotfl2: I have heard that Tim's doesn't have enough staff on for the early morning flights and that Starbuck's isn't open yet but we'll just give ourselves enough time to grab a coffee once through.

And yes, Jeff will be just dropping us off so he can get home and get to bed:rotfl2: I told him we would just book a car but he insisted he would take us!

Thanks hon:goodvibes Irish dancing boy you say??? Ok, I'll be on the lookout:rolleyes1:rotfl2:
I hope the flight costs come down for you. Flying from Canada is such a joke sometimes! For $650 you could fly to London, England roundtrip (on a good day)
Me too:goodvibes It's so funny that you say that because I told my dad he could fly to Scotland cheaper than we can fly to Orlando:confused3

We are definitely going to attend SWW...we figured what the heck, we're there, we've never been to SWW so we're going! I hope you get your side trip in and how exciting for Bubba, I love wedding dress shopping!
Love your PTRs/TRs Queen :thumbsup2
Aww thanks so much honey:hug:

Great first day plans. We have eaten at RR a couple times and have had pretty good luck. One time wasn't the best but we would try it again. Just haven't had a chance to work it in the schedule.

Well, our good news yesterday was we got our flights changed. We were supposed to be arriving on the 24th around midnight. Ughhhhhhh. Well, they changed one of our flights so my DH called and got us on an earlier flight. We should be getting into Orlando around 10:30 pm now. And we just took this flight in January and we must have had a heck of a tail wind because we landed at MCO around 10! A half hour earlier than we were supposed too! :woohoo: So hopefully that happens again this time. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Raglan Road sounds like a wonderful first day tradition.

Is Tim Horton's coffee really THAT good? Just curious? :confused3

Jasmine asked if we should step out of our box and try somewhere different on arrival day:scared1:then she remembered the fish and chips she loves so much and agreed with my choice!:rotfl2:

I love the stuff, it's an addicition, I swear! I stop every morning on my way to work and I get out of bed on the weekend to pick up my coffee! They built one about 5 minute walk from my house....:confused3...not good for the pocketbook, but I usually have only one per day! I think it's a matter of what you like....I have friends that won't touch it, they are diehard Starbuck's fans!

Hope the airfare goes down a little for you! I've been checking Southwest for the last week or so for our trip, and it FINALLY went down a little today, so I just pounced and bought our airfare! It's still more than I want to spend, but it could be worse I guess! :confused3
Thanks:goodvibesAs soon as I see a price around $500-600 I wll be purchasing! I'm terrified they'll get even worse!
Your first day sounds great, if we were doing a longer trip, I think we'd probably just relax and go to DTD too! I need to try Raglan Road someday!
I completely understand! You know what's funny? Even with 2 weeks, the last few days were scrambling to do things because earlier we're saying to each other "oh we have another couple of days at this park or this and that...not good:rolleyes1 We miss things every year that are on our must do list....gonna try and change that this year:rotfl2:
Haha, I clean my room too when I get there, I wipe down everything with Clorox wipes (I also do the same on the plane :rolleyes1) and check the mattress for bed bugs...anything I'm missing?
You do everything I do....the only other thing I ALWAYS do is put the remote control in a ziploc bag .... studies show it's the dirtiest item in any hotel room....but then again, don't even get me started about the bedspreads....do you roll those down to the bottom of the bed every night:rolleyes1

I am hoping that flights go down for you too. I have noticed that the prices have just seemed insane lately. I just don't know what's going on. So far it sounds like you have a good plan down.

Hey chicky! Me neither! It's not like fuel prices have skyrocketed lately...not sure what's up! I am going to look at last years tickets and see when I booked them, Jasmine seems to think it was last minute, but I think she's crazy, does she forget who her mother is:confused3

It's one of the reasons we fly Delta or United, the taxes are cheaper than on Westjet or AirCanada! I have also thought about driving to the states to catch a flight, however, right now it would be about the same price so I'll continue to wait:rolleyes1

Yay- Raglan Road tradition! Hope your flights come down a bit...they say try flight booking on Tues. or Weds. Maybe the price will be lower tomorrow.
Thanks for the tip Debby, I haven't checked yet this morning, but will as soon as I'm done posting!
Please head across the border...help our economy...of course, be sure to find good deals only, though!!!
I'm thinking of a trip at the end of April, even if it's only for the day or we may overnight for one night! I always go over my limit anyways, so I'm paying one way or the other at the border! My friends all ask if they know me by name now:confused3cheeky aren't they?:rotfl2:
I love the

I can't wait to try all these delicious yogurts! Please tell me they're low cals!
Sounds like a great plan for the first day! I sure hope those flights come down for you-that's rough.

Hope Jasmine gets her shopping trip, a girl need some new things for a trip you know! ;)
It sure is....I'm so happy I only have to buy one this year! Thank goodness for visa points!

Jasmine thanks you:rotfl2: Her exact words were. ... see mom, she just gets it and she's right!:rotfl2:

Your first day plans sound really good. RR is on my list of places I want to try, but getting Dale there is almost like pulling teeth without pain killers........:lmao:. I am still hoping we get down there early on June 1st so we can meet up!!!

Hey girl! What is it about RR that Dale is hesitant about? My BIL likes steak and potatoes and he loves it there! Oh Dana, my fingers and toes are crossed hoping you get there early on the 1st!!

I am struggling with some ADR's right now and have plans to cancel some today and book new ones! There are certain restaurants we always like to go to, but I would love to try a new signature dining restaurant on this trip just not sure which one to choose!

I am so happy about your flights...that's the best news isn't it! I don't think there is anything better than a great tail wind! That way you'll be rested for your first full day in the parks!:thumbsup2

Of course Jeff needs to drive you!!! I'm sure he needs to give Jasmine a Kiss or two good bye!! cuz her's going to miss her!!

Have a great day!
Debbie

Okay, I admit, I've never flown on a plane before, so whenever a PTR or TR talks about traveling to WDW that way, my eyes glaze over. I don't know if I could do a 6:30am flight, that's just so early! :rotfl: But, I know that means you two will be getting to Orlando by early afternoon, which is a good amount of time to recooperate before a park day.

And by getting there around 2, you should have enough time to relax before your Raglan Road dinner. :thumbsup2

I know what you mean about cleaning the resort upon arrival. Alex looks at me like I'm nuts when I start piling Clorox wipes and sprays next to our luggage. But I used to work in a childcare center, and now I'm a huge germophobe. :rotfl:
