It was to be a SURPRISE trip, but I blew it May 2012 PTR (New May 9 )

I'm one of those people who have to get there and get right through security so I know I'm ready to board....weird I know:rotfl2: I have heard that Tim's doesn't have enough staff on for the early morning flights and that Starbuck's isn't open yet but we'll just give ourselves enough time to grab a coffee once through.

And yes, Jeff will be just dropping us off so he can get home and get to bed:rotfl2: I told him we would just book a car but he insisted he would take us!

Sounds like a good plan!!! :thumbsup2
Of course Jeff needs to drive you!!! I'm sure he needs to give Jasmine a Kiss or two good bye!! cuz her's going to miss her!!

Have a great day!
Debbie

I think you're right on the money! He is very sad that he can't come but school does come first! Thank goodness they can text....:rolleyes1

Okay, I admit, I've never flown on a plane before, so whenever a PTR or TR talks about traveling to WDW that way, my eyes glaze over. I don't know if I could do a 6:30am flight, that's just so early! :rotfl: But, I know that means you two will be getting to Orlando by early afternoon, which is a good amount of time to recooperate before a park day.
The one good thing is I never sleep the night before so I'm up anyways and then I sleep on the plane...I hate to fly so I do that on purpose! I do love getting in early enough to get settled and then start bright and early the following day!
And by getting there around 2, you should have enough time to relax before your Raglan Road dinner. :thumbsup2
That's probably a better idea than getting right to DTD to shop:rotfl2: I try and restrain myself, but it doesn't always work!

I know what you mean about cleaning the resort upon arrival. Alex looks at me like I'm nuts when I start piling Clorox wipes and sprays next to our luggage. But I used to work in a childcare center, and now I'm a huge germophobe. :rotfl:

I just feel better knowing that I've given it a wipe down! I have to say tho, the last few trips the rooms have been spotless but I still do it:rotfl2: We go thru a ton of hand sanitizer when we're in the parks too!

I'm sitting here at work enjoying the "lemon meringue" yogurt and its sooo good...you will have to get some the next time you go to the States.

This one is light but they do have fat free etc.
Here are the stats on the container:
Calories 100, 0g fat, Cholesterol less than 5mg, Sodium 90mg, Potassium 260 mg, Carbs 21g, Sugar 14g, Protien 5g

Flights from Canada are always rediculious...:headache: I feel your frustration.

We fly from Syracuse and it's less than half the price. We fly direct and it takes only a couple hours. :lovestruc
We like the 7am departure...we are in the lobby of POP by 11am.

I drove for many years and now there's no way I'm going back to that.

I'm having the same troubles figuring out my ADR's. My window open up in a couple weeks. I have to cut some but it's so hard when there are so many we like and we always try to put some new ones in too.

Our arrival is always the same...pick up the rental car...go shopping...go to DTD the first night.
Now our tradition will be WGP for diner since we fell in love last time.
I like to check out World of Disney to see what's new.
We usually make it an early night since we have been up since 5am. ;)

Never tried Raglan's Road...if you both enjoy it I say keep it!

Sounds like the plans are coming right along!

Airfare tends to put a damper on the trip :headache:

Your first night sounds a lot like ours! We decided we will be going to DTD and Raglan Road as well! I have been on a protein kick lately and their ribs that I had last time were amazing! There is also a Bailey's shake I want to try :rolleyes1:laughing:

Hi Queen! I just about fell off my chair....We might actually be at WDW at the same time! We arrive on the evening of the 1st or early morning on the 2nd. I do hope that somehow we can at least say hi and get a big hug. I haven't read everything yet, but I saw it and just had to post!!

I am still up in the air about what to do...I haven't check the flights yet today, but I am going to check for GF and Fargo!
I drove for many years and now there's no way I'm going back to that.
I have always dreamed of driving east and then heading south....maybe when I retire and I have endless amounts of time!
I'm having the same troubles figuring out my ADR's. My window open up in a couple weeks. I have to cut some but it's so hard when there are so many we like and we always try to put some new ones in too.
I did some changes to our yesterday but still have a couple I have to look it...Jasmine is off tomorrow and she said that we'll finish everything off then...that's my girl:worship:

I think one of the changes we make is to add WPC...we didn't have it on our list this year, but I think we may have to add it!

Never tried the ribs there....may just have to do that! I have, however, tried the Bailey's shake and oh mylanta is it yummy! We had them on their little patio ... it was such a great way to spend an hour or so with old friends and family!

:woohoo::woohoo::yay::banana::worship:You have no idea how happy that would make me! No flights have been booked yet so if we have to take a later flight on the Saturday, we will!!! I would give just about anything to see you guys and give you the biggest hug ever!!!

Hi Queen!

This is too funny...just as I started reading your post, Jasmine sent me a text saying she got this dealfind for $25 and was going to go on and buy us each one:rotfl2: So yes, we have them and will be booking tomorrow to get them before our vacation! Thank you so much for thinking of us:hug:

Hope you have luck with your airfare price dropping some.

Never tried RR, but from what I read, it's a great place! I like the fact that it's a tradition for y'all to eat there on your arrival night. i love traditions that involve Disney! :)

Great plans for arrival day. One of these trips, we're going to take it easy and head for DTD instead of hitting the ground running at a park. Raglan Road is a restaurant that is definitely on my to-do list! I've heard such good things about it from so many different Disers.

Hey girl! What is it about RR that Dale is hesitant about? My BIL likes steak and potatoes and he loves it there! Oh Dana, my fingers and toes are crossed hoping you get there early on the 1st!!

Girl If they don't have plain ole hamburgers on the menu; then Dale is a no go..........:lmao:. When we tried 'Ohana for dinner I just knew he would find something to like in all the food they bring out, but NOOOOOOOOOO he ate a few shrimp and that was about it . Dallas is the same, but with his peanut allergy they will bring him a hot dog and ff.

Me too! We have special traditions that we have at each park too that I will tell you all about!

I'm so excited!!! Even more to look forward to!!!!!! I might explode from happiness!!!:banana::banana:
Girl, you have no idea!:yay::yay:That's how I looked when I saw your post!! I told Jasmine and she was so excited...her exact words were "I can't believe we are going to see them after all these years"....I know she can't wait to meet the girls!! I just hope I don't burst our crying from being so happy when I see you!:rotfl2:

The first few years we travelled were by charter's that didn't arrive until after 8pm so when we did start to arrive mid-late afternoon, we decided we would start that tradition and we've been doing it since 2002! I think you would love RR...it has a very fun atmosphere and if you catch the dancer....she's terrific!

:lmao:I hear ya! I am pretty sure that Jeff had a hamburger there and proclaimed it the best he had ever had but I don't know if it was plain! Better not take the chance!

I feel for Dallas with his allergy, I know all too well how that is! The plane is my most fearful place....we were coming home in 2004 from the World and they actually announced that there was someone on board with a severe peanut allergy and if you had peanut products please let the flight attendent know. No one raised their hand. Half way thru the flight, from a dead sleep, I stood straight up and said "someone is eating peanut butter" I could smell it! Turned out it was the people across the aisle from us so my bff asked them if they could discard it because of my allergy and that she would give them wipes to wipe everything down....very nicely I might add. They refused....exact words...."that's not our problem, it's the only thing our son will eat". My bff lost her mind, she rang for the FA and she said well all I can do is ask I can't force them to do it! My bff looked at the father (Jasmine is now crying her little eyes out positive that her mother is going to die) and said "Really?? It's the only thing he'll eat?? Well, it will kill her!! They threw it out right away! When I think back I can still see the look in my bff's eyes and I'm sure that father still has visions of them too:rotfl2:

Hi Queen!!
Today I got an email from trip advisor for cheap airflights out of Winnipeg. I checked for Orlando for the last two weeks of May and they have return flights with taxes etc... included for $507 return. Let me know if you want me to email you the site that was sent to me! (The flights were through Delta with stop over in Minneapolis)

Debbie

Sounds like a great trip. I'm taking my daughter on our first Mother Daughter Trip this year. She's not quite 3 but she loves Disney so much (She has already been there twice) and I'm looking forward to taking her many times again just the two of us :)

I did find some cheaper airfares yesterday, however, the return flights that keep coming up have 2 layovers and I would rather not do that, so I'm going to continue to watch them! Haven't checked them this morning but I will right away! I will PM you my email at home!

Thanks for thinking of us:hug:

Ohhhh....I love it!! I took Jasmine when she had just turned 6 for the first time and can still hardly believe she is 19 now:sad2: There is nothing like a mother/daughter trip .... I think they are wonderful!

Time for another update! Jasmine had yesterday off so we hit the mall with my dad! He loves to shop so we invited him to come along.

Jasmine did very well with what she "needed" for our upcoming trip:rolleyes1 She did buy the cutest new bathing suit....as she described it .... "it's very Katy Perry"...it's navy blue with big white polka dots and on the bottoms there is a little ruffle in the front with red trim....super cute! My camera battery is charging so I will have to post pics later.\

She also bought a few tops but had no luck with shorts. She wants a new pair of white shorts and also a brown pair to go with a few of her new purchases. What did I buy....nothing:rotfl2:

Now, I need to tell you all about our plans for our first full day in the World! Where are we heading on this day.....why, Epcot of course!!! This has become my favorite park, that is until I get to the MK, then that's my favorite park....but for very different reasons:worship:

We will have breakfast at the resort and then head our in time for rope drop! We have no problem getting up early, we are both early risers when we're at Disney...as a matter of fact, sometimes I'm too excited to sleep when we're there:rolleyes1 We will head straight to Soarin', grab FP's, ride standby and then hopefully get to use our FP's....I am not impressed about the new FP rule coming into effect on March 7:headache:

From Soarin, we will head to MS and TT....both favorites of ours! I figure by the time we're finished doing these it should be almost 11am and it will then be time to head to WS....my favorite place in the World.:lovestruc We will start in Mexico, to which Jasmine replied, "are we stopping at the Ditch so you can have a margarita?" Sadly, I had to say no, it doesn't open until noon:rotfl2: We will take a leisurely pace and we will definitely stop at the Karamel Kuche, not sure if we'll buy anything, but we'll definitely look. Another must stop for us is the shops in Italy! Jasmine always finds a new perfume she just has to have and I love to look at the purses:cloud9: You can never have too many purses:yay:

We will continue on our way to our home country of Canada when we have an afternoon ADR at Le Cellier! This was Jasmine's must do on this trip...she loves this restaurant, or should I say she loves the cheddar soup here! Give her a bowl of that and pretzel bread and she is good to go!

After our delicious lunch, we will head back to the resort for a little pool time and then we'll head back out in the evening! We will either go to DHS or DTD and that all depends on how much time we spend at DTD the day before! I wouldn't mind heading to DHS to catch Fantasmic though!

There you have it...our first full day in the park!!

Sounds like a great day!!! I love Epcot too!! It would be my first choice of park when I go back as well!!:thumbsup2

What happens on March 7th with the FP?

Debbie

Sounds like shopping was a lot of fun, and that bathing suit sounds cute!

Ugh, I am not looking foward to the FP enforcement, either. But at least we know ahead of time and can prepare for it.

I love starting off trips at Epcot. Love your ADR choice and am sure you two are going to have a blast in WS.

Just a side note...it has been said that TT will be down for refurbishment. WDW hasn't posted an official closed date, but there's been rumors that it's in April. :sad2:

Thanks:goodvibes On March 7 Disney is going to starting enforcing that you must use your FP between the times that are listed on your ticket. Before, you could use it anytime after the time on your ticket so we would save some for later in the day...not anymore:sad2:

Yes, shopping is one of our guilty pleasures that's for sure!

You're right, at least we know!

We are looking forward to our lunch that's for sure:thumbsup2 We have a few lunch ADR's lined up as they are cheaper than dinners:rolleyes1

I hadn't gotten to looking at refurishments yet and now I see that I have to get on that! Jasmine will be thrilled to go on Universe of Energy instead....it's where I have my midday nap:woohoo:

Vacation shopping is always fun! I need to do some of that myself :)

Your Epcot plans sound fun. Great way to spend your first day back "home" :goodvibes
