Is Your Heat On??????

Nope! We're still seeing highs in the low 80s. We still run our A/C during the day, but since it gets down into the 60s at night, we have stopped running the A/C at night.

Same here. I love this time of year when my electric bill goes down!

If it's not in the 70's its too darn cold. I had my heat on in August. August 12th was cold in Maryland and I consider that the first day of winter. Only nine more months till spring. :cool1:

Also in AZ.....AC still on.
Hopefully off in the next week. But no heat on for quite awhile still............hopefully.

Well, here in AZ, this time of year is the time of Mer(i)ryweather...... *snicker*

we had it on for a few days last week (it got down to 59 in the house during the day...) but it warmed up over the weekend so I shut if off again. I haven't checked the forcast but I'd be surprised if it stays off past Halloween, we usually have it on full time by then.

Since we live in Central Florida no the heat has not been on. However the AC is back on today after several days of having the house open. I detest running the heat and try to get away with not turning it on. If we didn't have dogs who freeze if temp gets under 70 might be able to get away with it :rotfl2:

We're still using the A/C, since our day time highs are still in the mid 90's. Maybe we'll switch to heat by Thanksgiving? Hope springs eternal.

Same here..also in AZ. I am dying for some cooler weather. I am over the heat at this point.

No…and it's getting absurd. But I'm sticking it out! :rotfl: Hopefully, DH will get the stove/fireplace going tonight. He thinks I'm crazy, but I want to try avoid the heat as long as possible!

My heat is on, but the thermostat is set at 62. So the heat would not go on unless the house gets under 62. We have a smaller house, so when I make dinner, the heat increases quite a bit in the house, enough that the house getting to or below 62 barely happens.. BUT, when the heat goes on consistently at 62, we raise it to 65. Consistent at 65, it goes to 68 (DAYS ONLY THOUGH). Night time is a consistent 62/64 depending if the wind chill is in the negatives.

Wow, never realized how crazy I was about the heat until I wrote this out. BTW, I am sitting with two blankets, fuzzy socks, and a heat wrap right now. I am very comfortable. The house has been at a steady 64 since I woke up this morning.

We put it on last night. The house was cold...I think 62 degrees. I am usually never cold, so when I get cold, it's cold.

I came home to a shivvering doggy last week, lol.... had to break down and turn it on---poor little guy was cold.

If it were just me and DF... we wouldn't mind, lol.

Since DH's heart attack and bybass surgery, his body runs cold????? I would have thought that it would have been the other way around. Clogged up arteries, slowing down the blood flow would have made him cold and now that the pipes are open and blood flow is good, he'd be warmer.

But he's not. He is ready for the heat to be on. In fact, he tried to turn it on last Wednesday. Yes, I used the word tried. It didn't come on. Our furnace has died. $2700.00 to replace it. Between unemployment, his medical bills, no disability insurance, and all the other things that have died or broken on us this year - the savings are wiped out. As it stands right now, we will be using space heaters to heat the house until we can come up with the money.

This has been our year that if it weren't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all. I know there's a light at the end of this tough tunnel, but it sure isn't very big or bright right now.

Wow I can't believe how chilly some of you keep your homes! We've had our heat on (off and on) for a few weeks now. We keep it at 69, sometimes we have to nudge it up if it's a really cold day outside. I like to hang out nice and warm and comfy in the house - although at night I like to open the bedroom window a bit so I can snuggle under the covers against the chill.

mines been on for a few weeks now... I refuse to be cold or hot... I do not see the point.

ETA its always 70 or 71 in my house.

Mine's been on for a few weeks now, too. It doesn't get really cold here (Seattle) but with the constant rain, the house just feels damp and chilly all the time if the heat isn't on.

If I am dressed for cold weather, usually a turtleneck, sweater, and either jeans or Khaki's, I would be too warm in a house at that temp. In the summer in those temps we have shorts and t-shirts on :lmao:.

We won't turn our heat on until at least 11/1. Even then we only have it set to 64 or 65.

I love spending the evenings with a blanket and slippers, and sleeping in the flannel sheets. I've even been known to keep the windows open until November/December...and, yes, I had them open last night.

Our house was at 66 and we turned the heat on to raise the temp to 70. I prefer to be comfortable in my home.
