Is Your Heat On??????

Nope, heat is not on yet. But I AM sitting here at my computer in my winter jacket :lmao: I figure I'll have to break down and crank the furnace on soon. I sure do hate those winter time gas bills so I'll hold out as long as I can :thumbsup2

Last night, yes. But until last night, we had lows in the upper 50s. It's going to be colder next week so it seems like it's about time.

It's off at the moment (its in the 60's here today), but I have had it on a couple times in the past week. Mostly in the mornings, when it's been in the 30's to take the chill off. I won't put it on continuously until its steadily cold. It's still to back and forth here right now.

I don't think we turn our heater on any time before late december.

My air conditioning is still running, this will be the first week the temperature goes down to the 80's. It doesn't feel like autumn at all :sad2:

Nope no heat on yet. I have started closing most windows though at night.

We turned on the heat a few weeks ago. I am keeping it low though, like 66-68 degrees and it is perfect in here. I would rather throw on another layer than pay the outrageous gas prices to turn it up another couple degrees.

Still running the air here too. Hopefully we will have some cooler weather soon. :thumbsup2

Yes - on and off.. Thursday they're talking about the "s" word (snow ) and both days on the weekend aren't supposed to get higher than the 40's.. I'm hoping that next week will rebound a little - at least the 50's during the day..

Still using the AC down here. May never have the heat on unless it is a very cold snap! :boat:

I turned mine on a while ago. I had both the A/C and heat off, but one morning we woke up and it was in the 50s in the house, so I kicked the heat on. I have it set at 68.

And like C.Ann, they're talking snow on Thursday, so yeah...cold enough for heat to be on!

We have a programmable thermostat and the heat just turns itself on when it gets to a certain temperature (it is set to 68 between 6-8am, and then again from 4-10pm; then it lowers to 62 for the rest of the day). It's been quite chilly here at nights, so the heat kicked on last week.

If I am dressed for cold weather, usually a turtleneck, sweater, and either jeans or Khaki's, I would be too warm in a house at that temp. In the summer in those temps we have shorts and t-shirts on :lmao:.

I'm in comfy capris and a long sleeve t.... in the summer I'd have a t-shirt on... I can NOT stand being hot or cold inside.

I do not understand the philosophy of "waiting" to turn on heat. If I am cold the heat goes on.;)

It's not a philosophy, it's a matter of budget. If I can put on a sweater or sweatshirt, and save several hundred dollars I will do just that. My heat is gas and it costs an extraordinary amount of money each month...like $500 or more. So, if I can just wear a sweater, I'll put off turning on the heat for as long as I can.

Have turned it on a three or four times in the morning to take the chill off. Looks like it will be coming on more this week, seeing the high after tomorrow for the rest of the week is 52*F.

Sure, inside, but if you go outside, it's 50 degrees out-not really t-shirt/capri weather.

Ours went on about 3 wks ago which isn't bad for Michigan weather!! Unfortunately, tho, our furnace is acting up so we're in the market for a new one! Guess better now than in mid January!!! :cold: :teeth:

We've had ours on and off for a few weeks. Now it's just programmed for the rest of the winter. We keep it 62 from 10:30PM - 4:45AM and 68 during the day. I'm the only one home all day and sometimes if I get warm I will shut it off for a few hours. I don't like the house cold, but can't stand being too warm either.

why isn't it? :confused3 I'm in flip flops in December :) Just I throw a hoodie on and I'm good to go.. In fact that is how I did go to the bus stop in the am and to get them...
