Is this board infected with a malware redirect?

If you can't get into the setting, what does that mean and what do you do? Is this where you have to turn off the remote administration on the router? Final question: how do you do that? Thanks.
Is it because the page doesn't come up or because you don't know the security name and password?

If the page does not come up at all, it's because your router is not one of the private network routers that uses that IP. You need to enter the IP address for your type of router.

If you are able to connect but you do not know the security info., try admin for both the login ID and password. If that fails, try admin for the login ID and password for the password. Those are usually the default settings. If neither of those combinations works, you will probably need to do a reset on the router to restore it to factory settings. It's not something that I recommend doing unless you're familiar with wireless networking. Resetting the router to factory settings also removes your network name and password that your devices use for connecting to the router (and thus the internet).

Each router will have its own software and it would probably help to do a google search for your particular brand to see how to turn off remote administration on yours. Again, I would only recommend doing any changes to your router settings if you're familiar with setting up a wireless network. Making changes to your router settings can mess up your home network. I would make sure that other computers are experiencing the same redirect problem before trying this. It may not be your router.

I am finding it kind of funny that the banner ads I'm seeing on this thread are for removing Malware....

:rotfl:

MalwareBytes and Spybot are awesome.

Thank you. I can't get to the page at all. I guess I'll have to call my son; he's majoring in some kind of computer mumbo-jumbo :goodvibes. On my home computer, I'm not getting the redirect mentioned by others but I have gotten the "upgrade adobe" thing and can't guarantee I (or one of my kids) haven't clicked on it. One of my dds recently told me she clicked on a link that came in an email from what she thought was her sister, but wasn't actually from her sister. I have also been getting messages on my phone when I try to access Disboards warning that the certificate can't be verified or isn't valid or something to that effect. I've never had that happen in the past. I would hate to compromise my banking security so I'd like to take all the precautions I can. My scans have not come up with anything.

Depends on the router. If you are able to log on into router administration, you should just click around and look for Security. There will be options.

However, my problem is back  I checked the router settings, and they are fine. Back to square one....

I keep getting directed when on this board as well.
I forgot my router password, and could not get in to check, so I ended up resetting to factory defaults, and then updating and configuring again.

How do you do this? I'm not too technical!

Will Spybot get rid of this? If so, what's the correct web address? Many come up when I do a search and I don't want to click on a fake one.

There is a button on the router that says 'reset' or 'factory default'. Generally, you need to press it with a pin, and then set up the router from scratch, so I would not recommend touching it just yet.

I would go with the cnet.com link. They are a reputable company. I will try it, too, but I doubt it will help...
