Is it because the page doesn't come up or because you don't know the security name and password? If you can't get into the setting, what does that mean and what do you do? Is this where you have to turn off the remote administration on the router? Final question: how do you do that? Thanks.
If the page does not come up at all, it's because your router is not one of the private network routers that uses that IP. You need to enter the IP address for your type of router.
If you are able to connect but you do not know the security info., try admin for both the login ID and password. If that fails, try admin for the login ID and password for the password. Those are usually the default settings. If neither of those combinations works, you will probably need to do a reset on the router to restore it to factory settings. It's not something that I recommend doing unless you're familiar with wireless networking. Resetting the router to factory settings also removes your network name and password that your devices use for connecting to the router (and thus the internet).
Each router will have its own software and it would probably help to do a google search for your particular brand to see how to turn off remote administration on yours. Again, I would only recommend doing any changes to your router settings if you're familiar with setting up a wireless network. Making changes to your router settings can mess up your home network. I would make sure that other computers are experiencing the same redirect problem before trying this. It may not be your router.
