While I can understand why people in the UK and Commonwealth are interested in the Royal Family, I don't understand why anyone else is. They are as dull as dishwater. I majored in history and still read a lot about history so I'm interested in them from a historical perspective, but the current members? Not so much.
This!!
I started folllowing becuase of Diana.. and her clothes. LOL, even though I am no fashion plate... I have always loved following the fashion.
I started following when Diana first started dating Charles. We were contemporaries. I, and many others of our generation, lived through all the heartache - and some good times - with her and Charles, and we watched her children grow up.Love the clothes but I actually started following them when Diana began her campaign against landmines, which I was writing a paper on at the time -- she saved thousands of lives. and then I got more interested in history.
Same for me. As a teenage girl myself, it was like watching a real life fairy tale. I set the alarm to be up and watch the wedding in the middle of the night (no VCRs back then). It was so sad watching it all fall apart.I started following when Diana first started dating Charles. We were contemporaries. Let’s not forget the hats and shoes!
What's stopping you?Love the fascinators! I wish we wore them here
I don't care either way, to be honest.
What I do see is some posters repeatedly bashing, bashing bashing. It borders on obsession. Maybe a little beyond obsession and into a dark place where some therapy is needed. Post after post after post with the same hate.........how can such hate exist for people that a person only knows as a public figure??? Scary.
Yeah, but that doesn’t really explain the need for the incessant posts that do nothing more than bash them. Of course everybody is allowed an opinion and if that’s theirs, great. However, when one only posts the same thing over and over again without adding to the conversation, it borders (or crosses) into obsessive. It also makes for a weak argument. Discussing like that will never get somebody else to see your point.Ummmm...maybe it’s because of their blatant lies, half truths, misleading statements, and never admitting that THEY have ever done anything wrong. I would have some sympathy if they owned their part in anything, but they seriously act like they are always the innocent victim in every single situation and that’s crap in my book.

I haven’t defended them over and over again. I said I have issues with people dismissing mental health issues, I have empathy for them and in fact my last post said there are no innocent parties in this. But go ahead with your narrative. And all you do is defend them over rand over and over again...
And iff they go back several pages, they could answer that question and the posters like me, and other, wouldn’t have to repeat ourselves again and again.
Or apparently the Daily Mail.I think its obvious on this thread who are the actual British citizens/Commonwealth citizens/Americans knowledgeable about the monarchy VS. random Americans who get their news from Oprah and TMZ lol
