I hope we get deleted scenes where Meghan goes more into detail about her Little Mermaid reference. I can see some comparison between trading your fins for feet, and your acting career for tiaras. Or something.


I think the statement the palace released was the only one they could. Start an in the press fight like a ccouple of influencers would have been worse.
Let's hope Harry & Meghan agree with it and decide to fight behind the scenes.

True and one can have multiple adoptive fathers and step fathers, but again, only one biological father or mother for that matter.

It only take one sperm and one egg. BIOLOGY is not a factor to be relished or valued when it comes to the people that raise you.

That's a really good reply. And that, right there, is one reason why she's queen. That's good PR/communications. The train wreck of whining from Harry & Meghan in the interview? Nah, not so much. No comparison to how the queen would handle it.

it’s not haters hating when it’s pointed out that Meghan has been proven yet again to lie. They threw the royal family under the bus by saying he was denied the right to be Prince due to racism when he doesn’t get that right until his grandfather becomes king, but they denied him the title he is actually allowed. It’s a bit like Diana she want born Lady Diana but the honourable Diana because her father was viscount at the time. When her father became Earl she was elevated to Lady Diana. So Archie should have been Lord Archie Earl of Dumbarton later having the option to be Prince when his grandfather becomes King. A bit like Edward had the option to do that but due to him being far down the line he decided to call his daughter and son Lord and Lady. So here we have two proven lies and she is still claiming victim hood at the time the Queen is facing the loss of her husband of over 70 years how selfish can that pair of brats be. Extremely satisfied to see Queen's response. Recognizes M&H challenges, the issue of race, and recognizes that everyone has their own version of the truth. Nothing was rug swept or gaslighted. M&H now need to retreat from the press and work on things privately with The Royal Family in going forward. I truly believe both sides have faults and hopefully there can be a compromise and healing in going forward.

When someone says they were suicidal and then gets called a liar or a 'whiner' by people who really have no idea, well, that's horrible. A lot of that going on in this thread and a lot of diagnosing Narcissistic Personality Disorder from afar as well. You're right; the time of Archie's eligibility for the title of Prince at was really spun misleadingly in the interview, but then you have this sentence in the article that supposedly explained it:

“Under a royal convention, established by King George V in 1917, Archie was not given the title of prince at his birth, since he was a great-grandson — not a son or grandson — of the reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. Were his grandfather, Prince Charles, to ascend the throne, Archie would automatically assume the title of prince, provided the royal family sticks to the rules.

And again someone got it wrong. The only one who gets it automatically is George, who is the eldest child of the heir. That child's siblings are ELIGIBLE to get the title when a grandparent assumes the throne, but it is not automatic for the rest of them. While it has been the CUSTOM for the Monarch to grant it to all his/her grandchildren, a custom is not a rule or a law, and he will be perfectly within his rights to choose to narrow down the visible trappings of monarchy as a byproduct of modernization.

Charles has been vocal since 2012 about this plan to essentially cut the official "Firm" roster down to the immediate families of the Sovereign and the Heir only. That was LONG before Harry met Meghan, so it really has nothing to do with anyone's skin color. (Though there were certainly plenty of mutterings from the cadet branches of the family that he was being selfish and spiteful for his own reasons.) Unfortunately H&M chose to perceive that it is about race, and to broadcast that perception all over the world, so long-planned intentions notwithstanding, they will have managed to force his hand. Regardless of his parents' status re: the Succession, Archie will be offered the title when Charles takes the throne, because if it is not offered, Charles will never hear the end of it, and it would materially interfere with his ability to carry out his public responsibilities.

I agree that the Queen's statement has just the right tone. Diffusing this is going to take a bloody miracle, but that's a miraculously neutral statement.
