So by Annual Pass holder I take it that means any type of Disney AP being that there are about 8 different levels (including just water park AP's) Hey an AP is an AP in my book.
I'm sure they want people to buy them in advance so they can have your money in their account as soon as possible!
If you buy a ticket and opt to collect it at the park, do you not get your ticket reference number? I thought you could purchase your ticket, get the reference in the confirmation and use that to book FP+
If not, it's kind of pointless taking people to the park for a day and making them burn countless hours in lines because they couldn't get a FP. It just wouldn't make sense.
Honestly I think this is a great deal. I'm taking my sister and her boyfriend and we aren't worried about fast passes. I go to the parks weekly and always get fast passes while I'm in the park. I've never really had an issue of not being able to get anything.
I agree with RCT. As long as you have ticket media, you can book the FPP. The FPP is then assigned to your name, which is accessed by the MB or card. The FPP access points have no clue of how (or even if) you got into the park (ie using what ticket media - they work even if you used a MB for someone who didn't come in the park) so I can't see how there would be a problem accessing FPP's for the same name that were already made, regardless of what ticket was used for booking FPP or entering the park.

Have we confirmed you can do this? Is there a way to purchase the tickets ahead of time and then pick up that day? Do you need to call if so? Didn't see it online but then again I always have a hard time logging into the AP section of the Disney website.

I honestly haven't looked. I just responded to the post I quoted, on the assumption that the poster had verified this and was annoyed that there was no way to utilize the FP privileges on these discounted tickets. That's what I get for assuming. It looks like, from the post I've quoted below, that it has been confirmed that this is strictly on the day purchase only though. Kind of sucks for those wanting to book FP+ if they are planning it.
That may be true since you have the ticket but the $79 special is you can't pre-buy the ticket to make FP ressies ahead of time. The FP is linked to the ticket not the person

The original post I was replying to in the comment that you quoted had to do with a person who has another ticket, with FP+ pre-booked, but wanting to buy one of these special tickets they would use instead of the original ticket.
FP+ is linked to a person. That person must have valid park admission in order to make reservations. But there's no rule that any specific park admission must be used in order to use the reserved FP+.
