Interesting new AP TICKET offer

The written policy doesn't mention the guest of the pass holder having to be present at time of purchase, but this is an ongoing debate between CMs this morning and management is seeking clarification.
I'd appreciate it if you find out anything official on this as time goes on! Also, do you know if the passholder has to pay for the ticket (like TIW) or as long as they're there can the guest pay? Thanks!

Not sure if they're at a tipping point. But the ship has changed course. It seems they're starting to see the ramifications of recent management decisions.

Hope people enjoyed the lower crowds while they lasted!

Pass holder does not have to pay, just be present with their pass and ID.

Still waiting for more info on whether guests the tickets are for have to be present.

Is this just a one shot deal? Or can you get 6 people in every day till September 30th at the $79 per day price?

I
Has Disney finally reached the tipping point where they are really desperate for getting people into the park?

Not sure if it is a tipping point (due to prices), but probably just low demand due to all the construction.

Why come in 2016 when you could potentially just wait until 2017 or 2018 and see some whole new lands.

That being said .. I have some friends planning a March 2017 trip and we are invited .. I doubt Avatarland will be open then :(, but sometimes you have to go when you have to go.

I think it's more of a way to get people that are visiting someone in Florida but didn't plan on going to WDW, Since as soon as you plan 2 days it's no longer worth it...

Wish I had more friends coming to visit in this time period!
Yeah, I'm mentally going through all my friends who live elsewhere (also moved here in the last couple years) to see who I could convince to jump on one of the super-cheap Frontier fares and come visit!

This is not true. I am a pass holder and my husband and I are coming for Food & Wine. We were going to buy him a 4 day park hopper and the cost would have been $398.31 but with this deal we can buy his ticket everyday and the cost for 4 days will be $316 which is a savings of over $82. It is definitely worth it to us, more food and drink money for the festival!

It's six tickets per passholder, total, for the entire length of the promotion. We have to associate each purchase with the passholder's "season pass ID" number in our computer system to track it.

It is odd that earlier this year they would announce tiered pricing which makes a single day ticket REALLY expensive, then several months later offer a promotion that encourages single day tickets WITH an annual pass member.

The thought was the single-day tiered pricing and the increase in the annual pass prices was to keep down attendance. I guess it worked too well that they have to offer a promotion that encourages single day attendance?

Or maybe the premise that it was done to reduce attendance was flawed.

Maybe they were hoping to spread out attendance, not keep it down.

Or perhaps it wasn't about attendance numbers at all, but merely done to increase revenue.

Or maybe it was done simply so promotions like this look THAT much better :).

I think that you are confused. Disney would never try to keep attendance down. They are just trying to spread out attendance by increasing attendance during the less busy times of the year. The period covered by this promo is during the lowest attendance periods. With attendance down already this year, it looks like they are taking even greater measures to increase attendance during this period.

You are right .. that's what I meant by "keep attendance down" .. keep it down during the BUSY times of year (and push it to the non-busy time).

This promo (plus moving up the Halloween parties and Food & Wine) is great for filling probably one of the last remaining "slow" periods at Disney.
Either way, Disney continues to promote their way to having steady attendance throughout the entire year. Between promotions, festivals and marathons, I think it is official to have no "slow" time of year anymore .. but that's why sites like these exist .. to help us be efficient during the busy times.
