Insert Catchy Title Here - An August PTR

I just love those customized maps. I never actually need to use them, but I still love ordering them! They're great for scrapbooks.

You know, I've never watched a single NEW episode of ANTM. I always catch the marathons on MTV, though. I always sit there wondering who won, and then I realize I could just Google the results. It's just not the same though.

I just love the customized maps. They are so beautiful I can't believe they're free! I hope they decide to ship them to Canada eventually. The detail is really amazing. Having them framed is a great idea!:thumbsup2

Ooh, I'm gonna watch this week's episode & The Real Housewives after Conner goes to bed, while I read my homework!

I'll have to order another set so I can have all 4 parks framed, but you have to wait so many weeks between. I hope they mail them to Canada soon!

Hey all! Have you guys been watching Disney on the Travel Channel? I’ve taped them, and Kyle says we’ll have a “Disney Day” after our vacation to NC. Speaking of which, we leave TOMORROW!:cool1:

So I’ve been contemplating something. It’s Earth-shattering, deep philosophical stuff we’re talking about here. Should I Croc, or should I not-Croc? I love flip-flops, buy my HNP (that’s ruptured/bulged/herniated disc) does not, so I need more support than that. I’m not a fan of sneakers with capris or cropped pants, and I rarely wear shorts. My thinking is: my legs are short enough; they don’t need to be cut off with shorts & tennis shoes.

In favor of Crocs, they are making some *really* cute styles now! But I’m not adventurous enough to buy a hot pink pair, or some other color. I’m thinking black or “chocolate” (maybe they’ll taste good if they melt in the Florida heat?) (Don’t get me wrong, I *love* red, green, whatever other color shoes, but for some reason, only in dress shoes.)

Well, that’s it for now. I won’t be back till Wednesday or Thursday. Where we’re going doesn’t have cell coverage, or cable TV. We’re roughing it!

I LOVE my black croc flip flops!! I will suggest wearing them on a long walk a couple days in a row though! I thought I had mine broken in, but winded up with a nasty pinky toe blister 3 days into the trip! But they are super comfy!!

and no cell coverage..or cable tv...what are a lady and hubs supposed to do....

Oh I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip tomorrow.:goodvibes Take lots of pictures!!

I am a huge Croc fan, they are so comfortable. And there are so many cute styles out right now... I've seen quite a few free shipping codes floating around too. I would say go for it!!

;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

How long did you have your crocs before your trip?

I had them about a month or so..but did not do any "disney walking" in them. I wore them all the time..just not long distances. They do rock when it comes to comfort though!

Have a great trip!!

Hm; I have never owned any Crocs as I don't like the old styles. But now, I still dunno. I just got two pairs of Sketchers for $40.00 (after sales and a coupon) at Kohl's. I love, love, love them. They're adorable and comfy. I'm still not sure if I think Crocs are cute. But, I've heard they're comfortable!

Just found ya! Conner is going to be a heartbreaker!! And I LOVE the dogs! That pic with the Passporter is awesome! I also just checked out that website for your villa and it looks really nice!

Beka,

I hope you have a great trip. :goodvibes From what I saw on the link you posted, it looks like it will be a nice, relaxing, fun time. :)

So here is my position on Crocs. I have a few pair of them. The flip flops. I wear them all the time at home int he summer and they are just fine but.........the flip flops gave me a blister the size of my baby toe when I went last August. I was on a business trip and took a side trip for 2 days to WDW. I nearly pitched those things in the trash. I got home and could not wear shoes for nearly a week which made going to work awful. I took them again a month later in September. Same thing. I am debating if I should do it again this year and just take moleskin and see if that helps.

I also have 2 pair of what I'll call the "regular" Crocs. I have worn those at Disney many times and actually, they are not bad at all. Joe has a pair and as bad as his back is, he says that he likes them. When your feet get wet in them they dry really fast. I did get a blister last year and that is when I discovered the most ridiculous looking things on the planet.........Croc socks. Ok, stop laughing. Yeah, they are pretty stupid looking but once I started to wear those....ahhh, it was like walking on a cloud in my Crocs. :woohoo: Of course, I did look a tad bit ridiculous.

I hope you're having a great time in NC!! :goodvibes

I Croc'ed it the first time last October. I have to admit, I always made fun of them before, and then I found a really cute pair of Mary Jane type ones (called Prima). I wore them a lot during our trip. They were super comfy, and I didn't have any problems w/ blisters or sweaty feet. They are also great on water rides and when it rains.

Note to self: no Croc flops. I like the Mary Jane type styles.

I hope you're having a great time in NC!! :goodvibes

Awesome! I love that style, and some of the similar ones, so I might just have to go get some and get them broken in!

I'm home! I'm uploading pics now & will post a mini TR within the PTR!

well, how was the get away??

also, wore my crocs flip-flops yesterday since it was warm here..not sure they wont give me a blister again.. I need to re-break them in :confused3 Now I dont know what to wear. I think I am just going to by plain black Reef flip flops, and bring my sneakers!

Let’s take a little break here & I’ll tell ya about my trip to NC for Spring Break!

Sunday, 3/15/09
We woke up at a nice, unholy hour and finished packing. See, our cabin has a kitchen in it, and a grill, so we were planning on cooking there. We were finally out the door around 9 or 10, stopped at McSludge for some breakfast & were on the road! We expected the trip to take 6 hours, but it was closer to 5 instead. Bonus! It was raining on & off all day, so we didn’t get out & do much of anything once we were at the cabin. We watched a few hours worth of King of the Hill, while eating grilled hamburgers. (It’s our fondest memory of our time in Texas. I swear, Wichita Falls & Arlen are one in the same, despite what Hank Hill says!) Here are some pics I took of the cabin:

The back porch & the hot tub that killed my camera:

The bathroom (it was almost as large as the bedroom!)

This one will be short & sweet. I got up around 8am, and read the Imagineers Guide to the Magic Kingdom while soaking in the tub (nothing like lounging in super hot spring water!)

Look who visited!

A hidden Mickey in North Carolina?!

About the time I finished my book, Kyle woke up, & not long after, we got massages! Yeah! The rest of the evening was spent in the hot tub & watching more King of the Hill cuz the weather was yucky again (oh yeah, & drinking wine, which is *not* an endorsement to do so if you are a gastric bypass patient – I spent the night, from about 5:00 on , sleeping off my “relaxation technique”. Ugh.)

This is what we drank, it tasted good, I think:

Up next: Did I ever recover? Did the weather ever get nice? What do you mean the spa ate the camera?

Nature!

More nature-y stuff!

I liked the ceiling in the cabin. Obviously, there wasn't much to look at in 2 days. At least I didn't count the planks of wood, or the knots in the wood.
31209026.jpg

I forgot! The cabin and some of the furniture in it are made from reclaimed wood! Cool! :thumbsup2

Wow, that cabin looked so nice and relaxing. I love that barn door too! I would be all over having one of those in my house if DH would let me. He thinks I'm too country for my own good. Psh, what does he know?

I'm curious to hear how the hot tub claimed your camera and how the rest of the trip went. Looks like fun!
