We are planning our first trip the USF during the first week in May.
What's typical of the weather then?
What's typical of the crowds?
How do we get the entertainment rate for RPH?
How many minutes is the closest McDonald's from RPH? Where is it located? Directions?
How many minutes is the walk from RPH to IOA? From RPH to USF? What advantages are there to taking the water taxi?

What's typical of the weather then?

Typically in the mid 80s in the heat of the day, mid 60s for lows.

What's typical of the crowds?

Early May is low season, so if you avoid Saturdays you should have no problems with huge crowds.

How do we get the entertainment rate for RPH?

Call 1-800-BE-A-STAR and give them you dates and ask for the Entertainment rates. They may or may not have the dates available but you can try again later and hope!

How many minutes is the closest McDonald's from RPH? Where is it located? Directions?

The closest McDs is on Kirkman Rd and Vineland. It's very simple to get to if you exit the parks via the Hard Rock Hotel area. Make a right on Vineland and a left at the McDs right before you get to the corner.

How many minutes is the walk from RPH to IOA? From RPH to USF? What advantages are there to taking the water taxi?

I'm sure that others will be able to answer this better since my FIRST time at RPH will be next month. I've heard it's a ten minute walk to IOA, and the walk from IOA to USF is a brisk 5 - 10 minute walk.

There is a new McD's, it might even be closer! It's the nicest McD's I've ever seen! LOL
You take a left out the RP exit, go straight to Turkey Lake where you take a left, go straight until Sand lake and take a right, you'll see it on the left. Doesn't look like most McD's. they even have grilled Panini sandwiches.
If you venture a bit past that you will see many new restaurants, there is a Panero Bread co. which has awsome soups and sandwiches!!

It's comforting to know where two McDonald's are located. We have a picky eater in our party. I really like Panera's Bread, can't wait.

The information about time between RPR and the parks helps me determine what time I need to get the group up and rolling.
