In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

Good morning!

I have to go to work early today, so no time for the gym. Instead, I'm getting in a decent cardio-housecleaning workout! Me and my swiffer racing from room to room :rotfl:

First off Lisa - so incredibly proud of you for putting all of that out there. I suck at flirting too so you are so not alone on that one. Start small and force yourself to do it. It can be quite fun!

Yes. Good job Lisa. It can be lots of fun. Enjoy it!

Nancy - try not to get too sucked into the MP story. So not worth your time these days.

She's on the Today show this morning. I caught a little of it - disturbing, but really quite interesting at the same time. So many celebs with such deep issues. Money truly doesn't buy happiness.

No THINKING about the Half, Paula. Doing. Word.

Word indeed.

You Suck. I don't know if I'm more offended by the top-blocking going on or the "school that must not be named" references!!!!

Oh - you can name it. Frankly I gon't give a rats a$$. I never went there, just hubby  (and he doesn't really care either) Just funny how people are so divided!

We went to the Homearama tonight. SOOOOO disappointed. Where the heck are the million dollar homes? Apparently they are with the economy! They had 5 (5!!!) houses from 635K to 850K. Bo-Ring. I mean they were nice and all, and better than I'll ever live without winning the Mega Millions, but no "wows".

So disappointing! How's the head cold?

Taryn - welcome

Dawn - illnesses. YUCK.

Morning! Painters are here, so my house is torn apart. They are just doing the ceilings (we had water damage from the winter), so we are going to be in construction mode for the next week or so.

Dawn--keep those germs in MN, thank you very much! Ugh! What are they doing about flu shots there? Here, the entire school district is getting vaccinated (in school no less, that should be a fun day for the teachers, eh?). And while the vaccine isn't mandatory since it is a public school, they are using a negative check-off system. Meaning that they sent a notice home saying that they are vaccinating the school and instead of getting permission from parents to do the shot, you only fill out a special form if you DON'T want your kid vaccinated. And of course, you have to download the form from the website, so they are just making it a pain in the a$$ to say no to the shot.

Nancy, how are you holding up? Does the craziness go right through till Thanksgiving?

Back to work...

Morning all...

Sorry I have been MIA since Tuesday. Things have been a little hectic since I got back, and quite frankly, pretty depressing. Lots of crap happening to remind me I am back to the real world, hardcore. Not enjoying it. Can I move into Cinderella's suite at the castle? I'll pull my weight, really....I'll work as the fairy godmother or something.

No reports at work this morning, so have some lazy time. They should be in around 9, in a couple of hours. We have been running out of work constantly which is both good and bad. Good because that means we are maintaining our inventory which makes the team look good and makes raises/bonuses bigger. Bad because then you are doing nothing for a good portion of your day. Rather unproductive, and you better be super productive for the small amount of time that you do have work, or there's no way you'll meet the "quota". We have one set for every type of work you do, for example, a certain type of claim is 40 an hour, so if you are only able to work for 2 hours, you better have 80 done. No slow points through your working time. Mucho frustration.

I have 4 big cakes before the end of the year, two of them being wedding cakes. Good for my wallet. Hectic for my schedule.

So wanting to go back and respond to everything, just haven't had the time. Trying to catch up with school work since I've got back, in between everything else. But I am reading, promise.

Bad mood taking over so I'm gonna shut it now.

Hope everyone's day is going better than mine.

Um - I am doing the half marathon... just not sure about the running aspect of it. I am starting to get used to the darn treadmill and everything. You know, it is much easier to walk forever on that thing when there is a football game on in front of your eyes. Long walks will be scheduled for Sundays or Monday nights for the next five months. :rotfl: After that, I'll be looking for hockey games to keep me entertained - training camps are open KAT!!!!

All of this talk of germs and flu are starting to freak me out. Everyone is hyper sensitive to this stuff and you can't escape it. Call me crazy, but it is a flu where there have been very little deaths from it. Is it an inconvenience - yes, should it be monitored - yes, but please people, stop the panic already!

I am on day two of following my eating plan. Have gotten way off course in the last month and need to reign it in. No more snacks here or there unless it is planned in for the day. Need to be able to account for my calorie intake and I haven't been able to do that in months it seems.

It is a good day...

Lyz - forgot to mention that I am bummed that the big expensive house showcase wasn't all that. You loved that show and I loved hearing about it. Kind of funny that we are all eh about a $700,000 home though...

Hey, I need good costume ideas for the kids for Halloween. I always make them go as something coordinated (ie: one year they were Pooh, Piglet, and Tigger, and then there was Mike, Sulley, and Boo, one year they were all Greasers from the 50s). This is a tough year because they are getting too old to be Disney characters.

We have a big adult party every year that we go to, so I always need costumes for us as well. But this year my girlfriends and I are (thankfully!) already set with those. Jeff will be traveling this year, so I get to go with my girlfriends. So I can check my costume off the list. Three more to go.

One year he and I were Sonny and Cher (he was Cher) and that was hi lar ious. The kids really want all 5 of us to the The Incredibles, but sadly, I am the only one who won't do it. I still don't have the bod for the spandex suit. Of course, Jess always looks like Mr. Incredible already. *sigh*

So I don't need any adult costumes, just for the kids. Start thinking!

You can only stand at a crossroads for so long before you have to pick a path and then you look back wondering what you were so afraid of!

So, so, true. I feel this all the time, Dawn.

I have continuously shut off newfound sexuality (meaning flirtatious side) - newfound b/c I didn't really have it before - because I thought that it was wrong. Literally.

And it was yesterday that I realized that it's not healthy and that I was doing it. You're shutting off a part of your entire well being. And I didn't know I was doing it. No idea. It took a conversation where I said something and someone said, "What the he!! are you talking about - first you don't have control over it - and second it's normal." I was beyond perplexed. Like at forty two I was realizing something you should know as a teenager.

Yet I always thought that flirting was like joy :goodvibes in my head - for others. Always "for others" with me with everything. I just thought mine couldn't be for obvious reasons (or I assume obvious reasons).

And your story just made me very happy. And there it was - just my issue.

Exhaling. Are you sure you wanted to know? :lmao: I'll try not to edit. :rotfl:

We always want to know, Lisa.

Flirting - such a conversation for drinks. Did we talk about this in NYC? I'm a big fan of it - keeps you alive. I chat with everyone though. It's human connection that keeps our spirits humming. Wakes us up, makes us look at ourselves and everything a little different.

Anyhoo. Hi everyone!

Welcome, Taryn!

Nancy - I can't name the school. I might choke and die. Seriously. I'm from OHIO. We bleed scarlett & grey. During the football season, the very best time to do anything is during a game. Whole cities shut down. You can rob the bank if you want.

Lyz - forgot to mention that I am bummed that the big expensive house showcase wasn't all that. You loved that show and I loved hearing about it. Kind of funny that we are all eh about a $700,000 home though...

I know, right! Eh, chump change. Paula, Bob was up in arms at the quality. Vinyl windows, the trim, oh the trim, horrific. Bob goes ballistic if you can fit a dollar bill in the trim miter, these houses, you could have fit big ol paper clip!

Never too old!

OK, what are you this year?!?!?!?!

One year he and I were Sonny and Cher (he was Cher) and that was hi lar ious.

HI LAR IOUS. Pics PUH-LEEZE!

The kids really want all 5 of us to the The Incredibles, but sadly, I am the only one who won't do it. I still don't have the bod for the spandex suit. Of course, J always looks like Mr. Incredible already. *sigh*

I can't believe you won't be Mrs. Incredible. You would be awesome and more importantly, her thighs are out of proportion thick. You would need to ADD to yours to look the part! Do it. Do it. Do it.

So I don't need any adult costumes, just for the kids. Start thinking!

I'll think.

Mad is going to be a cowgirl. (This child refuses to be a princess just to twart my plans! I swear.) Molli is going to be Barbie. (Again. Cause she's too old and I'm not buying another outfit for her to just pass out candy in.)

Hi Liz!!!

Liz - did you watch 17 Again with Zac Efron? Totally adorable feel good movie and OMG, I have turned into a couger. He is SO SO SO cute!!!

So I am laughing my a$$ off at the thought of Lyz as a cougar! Seriously, that is the funniest thing ever.

So, Halloween. My girlfriends and I all got the same silver-sequined shirt. (The whole thing is silver sequins...totally glittery and tacky.) And we all have to walk in to the party together, otherwise it won't work. That way, when people ask us what we are, we all get to sing "Shiny, happy people holding hands..." I refuse to do anything too costume-y. I won't put face paint on and all of that crap. I have to dress in something resembling regular clothes.

Last year (?), I don't know, maybe a few years ago, we all dressed in black. Black shirts and black pants. And we took wide yellow tape and taped two horizontal stripes across our mid-sections. That way, when we all stood together in a line, we were a road. Perfect costume because it isn't really a costume, kwim?

Maybe NEXT year I'll do Mrs. I, mkay?

We are supposed to be the Spice Girls this year. Let's see who out of my girlfriends plays along.

Cougar. Apparently now that I'm 35, I am one. I think that's a bit young to be a cougar, but I will so check out Zac!

Welcome Taryn!
I started C25K in January and am going to run the WDW half. It's a great start. I haven't had any injuries. The confidence that has come from running is great! I can RUN!

I am also a proud DUCK.

MR Ducks.
MR Not.
OSAR. CDEDBD WANGS.
LIB MR DUCKS!

It's a good accountability group. They don't hunt you down, but posting your weekly numbers feels good.

As for me, ran three, well hydrated (duh) miles this morning. I used new shoes. They are the same model (Brooks GTSsomething) as the ones I bought back in February. I got them in a wide this time as they seemed tighter. Laying the soles together, the new B was narrower than the old B (can soles spread?). Anyway, the new shoes gave me hot spots on the balls of my feet (left more than right). After I stopped running it stopped. Still wearing the shoes, just walking felt fine. I may lace them a little tighter Saturday. Could there be too much movement? It also felt like a hump under there, too.

I really like the old pair, but they will be long gone by January. Dang.

Okay, Erika - who wouldn't want to be Holly Hunter!

:tiptoe: Sneaks back in....

Paula, we will run as much of it as we can. I will be there with you, and let all the runner-types go on ahead. :goodvibes

I am actually going to a pre-season game, tomorrow!!

I have read everything but really just haven't had time to comment much. This week has been crazy getting back into the swing of things... Company sale went through (as many of you know) so I have a job for a while and nice bonus, but D's favorite aunt died on Monday morning so that has been a bit of a downer. Funeral was yesterday.

Okay, gotta go work for a while more. I may be able to jump back in with both feet sometime soon...

I know, right! Eh, chump change. Paula, Bob was up in arms at the quality. Vinyl windows, the trim, oh the trim, horrific. Bob goes ballistic if you can fit a dollar bill in the trim miter, these houses, you could have fit big ol paper clip!

A redeeming quality about Bob. He can inspect on one of my jobs if he wants. Quality is not something I scrimp on.

Good call on E being Mrs. Incredible. I was thinking the same thing about having to add to her thighs, but didn't know how to say it.

Kat - thanks for agreeing to walk with me. Still not sure about the whole running thing and it is going to take a lot to convince me of that. Have fun at the preseason game!

Paula, thanks for calling it "agreeing"!! Yeah, that's it!!

(instead of the truth, which is there is no way in he!! that I will be ABLE to run it!!)
