In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

Back home for a few hours!

A little background about the area before talking about why I decided to drive for almost an hour to see Christmas lights. Our local amusement park is called Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN. It's a cute little park and is known for award winning wooden rollercoasters, along with free drinks. It's also uber clean (the owner is known to walk the park on cleanup detail). The Koch family (theme park owners) has always been very philanthropic - if it's for a kid or special needs person, they support it with gusto.

They also have a nice camp ground adjacent to the park with paved roads - this is where the light displays were. It was a beautiful light display based on Rudolph. It's the first year for this and it did not disappoint. Well worth the $15 per car admission. The funds go to the local Ronald McDonald house. On top of that, we were given a coupon for a free pic with Santa at the gift shop (think about 1/2 the size of World of Disney).

Off to plan our activities in Nashville, ICE is on the menu.

Hi--good day here today! Things are approaching normal, so that is good. Off for a run now and it is badass cold out there! Snow hasn't started here yet, but it's coming!

Nancy! Wow, what an honor for Becca as a freshman! She must be over the moon happy about it!

Six miles done. Effortless! OMG, I so needed that. Just got out of my head for a while, you know? I feel SO good!

Hey Everyone

Slowly trying to get over my badass funk ;) Hopefully getting there!

Erika - I don't think we have any uniquely British Christmas traditions, I can't think of anything we do here that you guys don't do - there must be something! :rotfl:
My own Christmas tradition is that every year I watch Love Actually whilst wrapping presents, as I am doing right now, and on Christmas Eve DH and I eat Fishfinger Sandwiches :rotfl2:

Lisa - I think it sounded more like a rant in my head :lmao: I'll rant more later!

Kat - December will be over before you know it!

Nancy - Congratulations to Becca! :worship: As a girl who once wanted to be a White Line in the road, I feel her pain on career choices :lmao:

Amiee - Have fun in Nashville!

Everyone - Hi :flower3:

Hello All, I was wondering if I may join your group.
I am 34, Married 8 years, 2 DD's 5 &2 I work full time.
I am about 40-50lbs over weight and just found out my triglisorides (sp?) are high. My father age 56 needs a 3x bypass Jan 4, 2010. I don't want that to be my furture. I want to do the princess 1/2 in 2011. I have always loved to run. But junk food, kids, work... has always come first.
Today I started the Coolrunnings.com plan I felt very good after my first day on the treadmill. I have a treadmill and an eplitcal in my basement. So NO excuse.

again, I would love it if you would let me join your group. I am learning.. the more people I have to answer to... the more I may really do this..

Thanks

Please, make December stop now. Please?

 We're awaiting the start of a major snowfall here overnight. Pretty much the entire state is predicted to get a foot of snow. So, yeah. I'll vote for December stopping too!

Nancy! Wow, what an honor for Becca as a freshman! She must be over the moon happy about it!

Yes, yes she is. And the best part??? I was WRONG! Oh, how I love it when I'm wrong. (well, sometimes :rolleyes1). The show is NOT the weekend after the princess 1/2....it's TWO weeks after :thumbsup2

Slowly trying to get over my badass funk ;) Hopefully getting there!

and on Christmas Eve DH and I eat Fishfinger Sandwiches :rotfl2:

Ok. "fishfinger" sandwiches? :confused3 Google, here I come

LYZ!!!! Pictures? TR? something? anything? please?

Nancy, good news! Well, a bit less stress anyhow. And, I forgot to say congrats to Becca!!

We were supposed to get snow but it turned out to be a boring non-event. Thankfully.

Nancy - go Becca, go Becca!!! Sweet on the part. So happy for her.

Kat - glad you dodged the snow. Hang in there, December is almost over.

E - glad the run was a good one. You so needed that...

Kelly - happy to hear you are feeling a bit better. Love Actually is one of my faves too.

cantwait - yes, please tell us some more about yourself. You won't find a better bunch than this one. We'll keep you honest...

Lyz - welcome home! I'm with Nancy - when do we get the details of your trip?

Amiee - hope you are having fun in Nashville!

Got a lot accomplished today including helping my mom pick out a new fridge since hers died (two weeks after the washing machine died). Now I just want to curl up and become one with the couch. Long walk planned for tomorrow - 4 miles per the plan. Should be fun since I have some new tunes on the ipod. But that is tomorrow's plan. Off to make a cup of tea and watch a sappy holiday movie.

The weatherman kept saying how this storm was "too close to call" for the last few days. But as the day progressed today, the forecast was for more and more snow. The latest was 8-14" over night. It hasn't started as of yet though which is truly irritating me! I had so.much.stuff. that was on the agenda for today - and we completely changed plans because the snow was supposed to be coming fast and furious and much, much earlier than now

<sigh> just one more thing in my life that I have no control over.

My name is Jo, My weight loss program... Yeah Right>> HA HA. I just started the coolrunnings.com couch to 5K. I thought I would start there and see what happens.
Doc. says to cut out sugar and carbs.... What else is there to eat,,,, UGG!!!!
Have not yet cut out anything. Jan 1 in my goal to cut out pop and junk.

Usually we are a lot more active around here. Several pages a day when we are on fire! :lmao: A lot of us are swamped right now with the holidays and everything else. But you'll get to know us soon enough.

The snow is coming down now! Took a while to get here, but we are in the thick of it. At least we'll have a white Christmas.

In other news...BIL just informed us YESTERDAY that we have to change our plans for when we get together with Jeff's side of the family. We always do it on the 26th or 27th. Well, they want to go skiiing that day instead, so they need to move it to, get this, the 24th! (They don't go to church, but of course with my dad being the minister, the 24th is a huge day for us.) So I said that I guess we could do it, as long as it could be a brunch since the kids have to start getting ready at 3-ish for church/dinner with my family. They said fine, but they can't get here till 1:00! Ok, nothing like rushing Christmas! And catch this--if all of that wasn't bad (rude) enough, once I said that we could manage it, he has the nerve to say, "And can you host it at your house? Jan just isn't up to it..." OMG! Fortunately, Jeff is just as disgusted with his family's behavior.

Ok, back to family day. :goodvibes

My name is Jo, I am a buyer for a hotel/resort.. My weight loss program... Yeah Right>> HA HA. I just started the coolrunnings.com couch to 5K. I thought I would start there and see what happens.

Jo--I started with C25k as well and have since done the half-marathon distance as well as 2 triathlons...it is a GREAT way to start!

As for an eating plan, I suggest making one change at a time. So much easier to stick with as opposed to doing everything all at once (and not being able to do it and getting discouraged, etc.). Start with eliminating the soda and other sugared drinks. That is a great goal! Then, once you have that one mastered, move on to the next thing. We'll be here to help. :thumbsup2

we got jipped. Big time. The shore (where my parents are) got a solid 18-20". We got 2. Maybe. That's being generous with my estimate. And the thing that ticks me off, is I changed my plans COMPLETELY for this weekend based on a mega-huge storm. Bah.

Holy crap. Merry Freakin' Christmas to you! Sounds like they all need a good lump o' coal in their stocking this year :santa:

Going to our neighbors tonight for our annual gathering. I'm making stuffed mushrooms & a Tollhouse cookie pie. :cloud9: Yum.

Hi Jo! Nice to meet you. My goal for the next week/10 days is to hold steady. Be as good as humanly possible with all the holiday goodies floating around, but not beat myself up over indulging in a treat or two and come the first of the year, it's back on track!

Hi Jo!! That sounds like a good plan.

I am recommitting in Jan as well, to train for the half and to try and get some of this weight off. I lost a bunch about 2 years ago but it has been creeping back on...
