In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

Yes, yes, yes...pics of ICE. Muse see.

Hey Lyz and EE--did you hear me on the podcast??? I have some fun podcast news for next year. Later. Since most here are haters! :lmao:

Here's a super cute snack to make for the holidays that the kids can do. This for the Kelly/Maddi/Emily/Taylor set. Not for the 13 year old gourmet that is Becca! :lmao:

Get a bag of "waffle" pretzels, a bag of rolos, and bag of holiday M&Ms. On an ungreased baking sheet, lay out the pretzels (not touching). Unwrap the rolos and put one on the center of each pretzel. Just barely warm them in a 300* oven for like 3 minutes. Take them out and press a red M&M in the center of the rolo. We call them Reindeer Noses. The kids love doing them, super easy and cute. And yummy.

OMG E! I forgot to post that I did. I meant to post just after I heard it. Stay out of the damn lakes. :rotfl2: How wild!

Ok ladies. I'm on my laptop, so I can type at a decent rate. Whew, what a weekend!

Paula - glad that your badass came out to play!

Nancy - love Anything Goes! Congrats to Becca! Glad you have an extra weekend after the Princess

Eastern Seaboarders - I hope the snow isn't bringing you down!

Kelly - glad you are getting over your badass funk. What is a fishfinger sandwich? There you go whilsting again on us. :lmao:

Jo - Scary that your dad is needing bypass so soon. 56 is so young. I agree, one change at a time is extremely helpful.

Paula - I love looking for appliances, just not buying them. Yikes!

E - Kudos to you for restraining yourself from choking your BIL.

Kat - Do you need gloves yet?

Amy, Lisa, Ronda, Liz, Lyz (I think I got us all) - :wave2:

I will have pictures and an ICE report as soon as I figure out how to load them from my phone (I have about 15 pics). I think I have a video of the waterfalls at Gaylord too. I have no clue how to load that, but I will try.

ICE Part 1:

When we left Evansville Saturday morning, the temp was dropping. We knew it would be cold. Yikes! I took all of the clan (Mom, Aunt Susie, & kids). Admission for ICE is $24 for adults (steep, but how often does this happen?). Since it was so cold, I splurged and upgraded us to VIP for $15 more. It was worth the money because the wind was cut through you killer. The VIP gave us immediate access to the stylish blue coats you are about to see. I didn't get shots of all the exhibits because they keep it sub-zero and my phone didn't like it. I warmed it by putting it down my shirt. :lmao: Yes, I am serious!

Here they are! I will insert commentary when warranted. My advice, take two pairs of gloves. It was beautiful, but bitter cold.

I couldn't get Ryan to hold still long enough for a picture, so my aunt pulled him over briefly. Aren't the coats stylish???

EE - thanks for the pics... at the risk of sounding cliche' that is very cool...

Not much to report on tonight other than I think I snacked on more than my fair share of chex mix tonight. I did get my four mile MFM walk in so yeah, week three is done.

Had bit of a family game night tonight with my parents and my sister. A friend of mine is a big fan of dominoes and gave me a set. I got my family to play it for a while and we had a good time playing that with a Christmas special on in the background. Good times...

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

BTW - Erika, when do you get fitted for your saint wings? You are way more accommodating than most people I know.

Dominos rock Paula. So much fun. Well, I was able to get all but one pic to resize.

More tomorrow!

Kat - Do you need gloves yet?

No, no gloves. Not even a coat, although I probably do need one... went out to hockey and then walmart tonight in a hoodie and sweatpants.

40s in the daytime, 20s at night, not too bad really. Great hot tubbing weather!

Cool pics!!

ERIKA - 10 hours sleep? You? Wow! :rotfl:

NANCY - I just remembered your comment about the Queen on the train! I thought it was great that she rode it like us regular folk! :rotfl: They actually made quite a big deal about it over here, like if the Queen can ride the train across the country at 87 (88,89, not sure of her age) they why can't her kids do the same instead of getting helicopters everywhere! :lmao:

Ok, fishfinger sandwiches :lovestruc
Fishfingers are kind of fish sticks (?), its white cod in breadcrumbs in a stick shape, they are delicious on a breadcake! :lovestruc

Welcome Jo! I started C25K at the end of January. I am running the WDW Half Marathon next month. It's a great way to start. Get good shoes and run slowly. Take extra weeks if you want. The fact is you're doing it and that's better than before. I have come to the point where I look at decisions of my day as something that will make me live longer or shorter. Very basic and very effective.

RONDA - you are getting SO CLOSE! Are you in taper yet?

Yes, the taper is on! I swapped days last week due to the colder temps and did the 10 miler mid-morning Thursday. I've found that the longer distance in the cold temps hurt a lot more than the short ones. I was doing four and five miles and feeling good. Six and eight, not so much. I headed inside. Looking at the forecast my future is bleak. It's a treadmill Christmas! I'm thrilled to be this far in the training plan before I'm driven inside. I'm reading training blogs/threads about the flu, painful knees and hamstring pulls. I'm healthy and sound and knocking wood.

It's been over four YEARS since I saw the Mouse. I've never been with DGF. There is so much to look forward to.

Erika - are you and Jeff still going Goofy in January?

Ronda

Welcome Jo! Glad to see you around. My name is Cathie, I'm 24, live in Colorado, and am a full time student as well as a full time employee for Wellpoint. I have around 120 lbs to lose, but haven't really gotten myself on the ball as much as I need to. However, these ladies around here are fabulous for motivation :goodvibes I have a boyfriend of 7 years, and no kids, but two furbaby cats that qualify.

Have you ever ran before you started this year?

Only after dogs and busses!

Other than that none. I've walked and biked for exercise in the past, but I am a newbie to running. My DGF suggested it last winter and we did a local race in April. We have both seen big gains in fitness and I am sleeping much better. I came across C25K on the WISH main board and never looked back. DGF continues to run 3x a week. She's excited for me and has been super supportive this year. We hope to run some more local events in 2010. There's one held in storage caves at the end of January that I'm excited about - the Groundhog Run.

I don't run after the dog, isn't that what is my 5yr. is for lol.

Cathie. Thanks for posting. Yes I need MOTIVATION!!!

I came *this close* to thwarting a robbery today. (indavertantly, of course ;)) I pulled into the Costco parking lot and as I came around the corner some guy ran right in front of me carrying a big tv box. RAN. Crazy fast. I literally slammed on my brakes so as not to hit him (hah. mistake. shoulda clocked that jerkwad). Then, I turned into the row that I was headed to park in, and the car that he had jumped into tried to pull out of it's parking space (really?? Your getaway driver parked in a PARKING SPACE? is he really that stupid?) Again - I almost hit them. However, not only did I stop, but so did they momentarily. Long enough for one of the employees to get their license plate number. (again. REALLY? You didn't make an attempt to cover your license plate? You ARE stupid). So that was my excitement for today.

AKASnowwhite..5 miles. You are my hero... Someday I will get there.

Yep, I did it. I'm still suffering from a bit of sinus congestion so breathing was difficult. But it's done.

On a side note, Has any of your childeren turn rotten right before Chirstmas.

Nope. My kids are rotten ALL the time :rotfl2: (less than 8 hours 'till they're home. :yay: Not that I'm counting or anything)

Ok, fishfinger sandwiches :lovestruc

That's basically what I figured.

AWESOME Kelly! Do you have something special in mind for them?

We had to do a lot of indoor training the year we did the Donald (well, the Mickey year too...but I specifically remember the Donald!). To be blunt, it sucked. BUT. When the race started, I was on such a high. SO happy to be running outside. The air was cool, crisp and simply PERFECT that day. I felt like a dog that had been let off it's leash! It was just amazing.
